History: Persephone was born in a small vineyard just outside of Benden Weyr to a senior journeywoman that belonged to the vintner craft. From the very start the slender brunette was destined to follow in her mother’s grape stained footsteps but Priss didn’t seem mind in the very least as long as she was by her momma’s side the clingy child was happy and all smiles.

As Priss grew older unlike other children she didn’t outgrow holding onto the hem of her mother’s skirt or running to her for comfort when she was hurt or scared, of course the constant coddling that her mother lavished upon her only offspring didn’t help to snip the metaphorical umbilical cord either. Both parties were guilty of dependency upon the other it was only when Persephone officially took apprenticeship that their mother-child bond lessen which was solely due to the fact that the brunette was sent to a different vineyard for her craft training.

Nearly a full turn passed before the crybaby wine-maker had finally finished shedding her tears at the loss of her only source of security in the big scary world, deciding it was time to move on Persephone threw herself into her crafting in hopes that being good at it would allow her to make friends and maybe one day merit her being able to go back to her mother. As time drew on for the high spirited brunette she found herself stuck at the bottom of the proverbial barrel, the workload that the craft threw at her never seemed to get any easier and despite what others thought she rarely was allowed to sample her liquid efforts; just because they made wine didn’t mean that they were able to indulge in the intoxicating drink. In fact Persephone had yet to do anything other than pluck berries and stamp out juice with her childlike feet, it was difficult work but far more entertaining than some of the other tasks that apprentices underwent at the vineyard, she was good at what she did but lacked the focus and initiative to ever walk the tables. In truth she honestly didn’t care if she raised in rank at that point, it had been turns since she last saw her mother however word among the vintners was that her birthing mother was once again with child; consumed by bitter jealousy Persephone all but threw away all of her obsessive efforts to do well at her craft. She just didn’t care anymore and to prove this the brunette hacked off her silken long tresses unto her unruly cut of defiance against her mother whom she had promised to forever keep her hair long for.

Another turn came and went leaving Persephone as one of the oldest apprentices in the vineyard however the lighthearted brunette merrily went about her mundane studies with a renewed vigor in the form of a transferred journeywoman, completely smitten by the lass’ charm and grace Persephone found herself confused about her feelings however that befuddlement passed quickly as their relationship blurred the lines between friends and lovers and the realization of her sexuality comforted her in a way she never thought it could. Everything seemed to finally be changing for the positive for the thinly built wine-maker however like most newly budding romances in time it ceased to be, regardless of either girls wishes. Cruelty from their peers and malicious assaults ranging from wrigglers in their cots to more aggressive forms of teasing nipped the relationship before its seeds could fully take root. Being forced to avoid each other or be sent somewhere else to train Persephone chose the latter option and found herself being sent back to the place that she once called home. Resentfully the shorthaired candidate-to-be returned to the vineyard that she was born in, painstakingly avoiding her mother Priss sought any excuse she could to leave the environment that she resided in. Little did the brunette realize that in that very moment she was being Search and within that very same turn she would soon be living a new life within Benden Weyr.

Physical Description: Persephone is a petite young woman of small stature and thin nimble build with long willowy legs and slender arms that only act to accent her sinewy frame and angular facial features. Persephone keeps her sandy brown hair cropped in a short yet feminine cut that is normally spiked in a messy wind tussled style which suits her narrow girlish face and allows her bright green colored eyes to stand out against her blanched dull skin tone. Her childlike hands as well as tiny feet are perpetually stained reddish purple from turns spent picking berries and stomping the juice from the ripened fruits though no where near as predominate as it once was when she had first came to the Weyr after being searched, though it seems no amount of scrubbing will fully remove the foreign pigment. Persephone prefers to don her slight frame in trousers of bright colours and fur-lined vests (which give her a false sense of confidence and allows her to feel more comfortable and secure about herself) though she is one to easily get swept up in a crowd because of her lack of height she is just as easily found because of her flamboyant manner of dress. From the tip of her head to the soles of her feet the shorthaired brunette carries herself with a meek demeanor and often wrings her hands together or speaks with her fingertips near or in her mouth as if hiding behind her hand, even when standing in still Persephone holds herself with a childlike pigeon toed stance which often gets her mistaken for a much younger age than what she truly is.

Personality: Priss is the traditional mommy’s girl, clingy, insecure, overly-affectionate, and somewhat of a crybaby. These things however do not completely define the young woman, even though she has a strong set of negative traits she also carries with her positive characteristics as well. Though she is clingy and overly-affectionate this tends to make the little brunette friendly and welcoming to those that she is unfamiliar with and very loyal to those that she regards as friends. Persephone carries herself in a shy manner yet the high spirited brunette is anything but that, she does tend to seem more reserved around males than females but she will still gladly envelope anyone with a hug in greeting if they allowed it. Her insecurities stem from low self-esteem and self-confidence, no matter what the situation the girl is quickly to blame herself first and take full responsibility for a wrong that she herself didn’t do. It is also these insecurities that tends to make Persephone needy and annoyingly obsessive and in certain situations jealous when she finds something or someone that she finds herself attracted to. No matter how often she is reassured in her own mind she is never fully good enough and is phobic of losing the person or thing that brings her a small sense of contentment, often this behavior does the opposite of what it is intended to do and drives said object of affection away from the blonde. Leaving the girl depressed, sulky and sometimes spiteful.

Persephone carries herself like a timid child, hands folded and feet pointed inward yet the brunette opens like a blossoming flower the moment she opens her mouth to speak, crumbling the meek manner in which she carries herself making her social and friendly natural demeanor present, albeit at times overly so this tends to be mistaken for an alluring charm however the brunette wine-maker doesn't seem to think so. She herself just considers her flirting harmless and playful, a part of her friendly demeanor, if she were really flirting the person would know.

Absentminded and often carefree Persephone is the type of person to push chores and important tasks to the backseat if something more entertaining and fun reveals itself, this attitude often lands the young woman into various forms of trouble and consequentially the punishment to go with it. However, regardless of the amount of discipline that she receives Persephone never seems to learn her lesson, the same thing could also be said for her gullible disposition when it comes to listening to others, the girl never really seems to learn on either account.

It is this innocent naivety that causes the girl to fall prey to cruel jokes because of her straight forward honesty and lack of understanding about things that she should and shouldn’t be open about towards people including but not limited to her sexual orientation which Persephone flaunts openly in hopes that one day she will find herself in the arms of a woman that truly understands her and loves her for who she is.
