 Raust curled up in his sleep. His horns rubbing on the root of the tree he was resting under. He had ventured to human lands once or twice, but to him nothing compared to the majesty of the forest. Even his dreams were filled with the forest. He had known a few other deerfoxes, but he had never met any ‘normals’ as his friend Moon and his acquaintance Pan called them. To Raust what he looked like was normal, and others would be the odd ones. Somewhere in the distance a bird called and summoned Raust from his dreams. He blinked and looked up. The forest floor was still heavy with mist. It would clear up by afternoon as always, but until then Raust found it easier to move about since he could hide when he decided that he didn’t want to talk.

 The orange masked male was walking threw the forest in search of something. What was he searching for? He didn't really know. Maybe someone to pull a prank on. If that was the case he was covered seeing how he was caring with him a roll of toilet paper. But He really wasn't in the mood for a prank. Maybe a joke. That could be good. He thought.

Raust stretched out before really starting to move about. He was ponderting what he should do today when he realized that the birds where quite around him. Looking about he didn’t see a threat but decided it was time to be cautious. He slipped off into some bushes cursing himself that he didn’t have more time to disassemble his makeshift leaf bed.

Northland glanced up at the sky watching some birds fly east. He wondered where they were going but shrugged it off. As far as he could tell there weren't many in the forest today. It bummed him out some since his goal was jokes for the day.
He moved deeper into the forest his eyes scanning everything. Wait what was that? He did a double take. It looked like a mix between a fox and a deer. How could that be?

Raust blinked and stared. Instead of escaping the intruder to the forest he had nearly walked into him! He tilted his head and tried to figure out what was wrong with the thing. It had paws like his, but was carrying some white thing, and it had a funny tail.. let alone the things face. There was a bill like a large bird, but it wasn’t natural at all. Why did a fox need a fake face, and where was its horns? Raust took a step back into his bushes while still eyeing the stranger. This was worrisome to him.

Northland cleared his throat and kicked a rock to the side, "You know its rude to stare? I may look a little odd but you dont look so normal either and I'm not staring at you. At first I couldn't figure out if i was seeing a deer or a fox." he stated simple. He didn't always think what he said threw but some of what he said was true.

Jerking a bit Raust was shocked. The thing could speak! “I’m sorry. I didn’t know what you are... still don’t.” At least the thing didn’t attack him. Was it male or female? The voice sounded male but he really wasn’t sure. It seemed it had a semblance of manners so Raust was worried he’d get yelled at if he asked. “I am a deerfox.” Raust wasn’t sure what else to add.

Northland chuckled,"So you are what i thought a cross between a normal fox like myself and a deer some how. Since you have horns you must be a male as well. I assume because most male deers have horns," he said with a laugh in his voice as he tossed up his roll and catching it on the nose of his mask.

Tilting his head forward Raust nodded his accent. “To me this is normal, you are the odd one. What is that?” He pointed to the toilet paper. “That is a fake face is it not?” Raust now pointed to the other foxes mask. He nearly asked if the fox before him was male or not, but he still didn’t trust himself to ask such a personal question. His little deer tail twitched twice.

Nudging the toilet paper to the other male he tried to explain what it was, "This is something that those to legged human creatures use to pull pranks. They call it toilet paper. If you give it a good toss it straightens out and hangs on things. As for what is on my face its called a mask. I guess you could it a fake face. Those who pull pranks wear them so if they get caught leaving the seen it is not known who they are and there for escape trouble." He nodded confirming what he just said. Yeah that sounded pretty right.

Raust paid attention to what the other creature said. Humans. Another thing Raust had never seen. They sounded a lot like Pan. That deerfox never stopped with his silly annoying pranks. Sadly all of the deerfox of this forest looked enough alike that unless one got a good look at him they would never know it was Pan. “I see. A fake face.. m-a-s-k could be useful then.” He trotted around the other creature in a circle looking at him. “I have a personal question though you may not wish to answer it.”

"It is very useful. Especially if one was to get into trouble." Northland chuckled and watched as the other male circled him."You know if you really wanted to check me out all you have to do is ask," He held back the laughter that was bubbling up his throat and winked at him. "Go ahead and ask."

“Check you out?” Raust looked at the other male confused. He pulled his head back up to look at the other fox from his full height. Was this thing making fun of him? “Are you male or female? You sound male, but I.. did not wish to assume.” Raust cleared his throat feeling very embarrassed about asking such a thing.

"My tail indicates what sex I am. But seeing as you don't have contact with many others I'll explain. Males have big thick tails. Females tails are skinny and loop with some fluff on the end."turns and puts his tail in the other males face, "What type of tail do i have hmm?" With that he wiggled his tail at the male.

Trying to take a step back Raust tripped over his own paws and landed on his rump. He batted at the other male’s tail. “Thick. Making you a male.” Raust got up and shook the dirt off his hind legs one at a time. His little tail was twitching quickly. Did this male not have a concept of personal space. Raust retreated a few steps to try and figure out how to deal with this stranger.
