Pepe had settled into Draug as well as could be expected, though an adult he was blissfully naïve about life in general though the pack members seemed rather tolerant of him, of which he was thankful. He'd not met many of the occupants however so maybe his opinion would change but from his understanding of the select few he'd met so far, he doubted it. He understood the man focus of the pack was to form a strong family bond but also to have a focus upon caring more actively than most other packs for the environment and the prey animals they depended upon for a food source amongst other things. For example one of the 'other things' would include learning the importance of bees and pollination, the production of fruit and seeded plants, birds and other animals which fed on this and the spread of the seeds and the nutrients the actual plant supply to the ecosystem. He had to admit it was all a bit much for him to take in however Cuccu, the alpha's son seemed rather tolerant though he warned him that Cocidius, the hunting captain whom most of this knowledge had originally been source from, was less tolerant and like his own space. For the time beginning however Pepe was happy to learn such things filtered down by Cuccu.

Much like the importance of bees and the roles within a pack of wolves, Pepe was trying to find his place and purpose though so far had little success. He had admitted to his overly strong sense of smell and a few other of his talents which accompanied his shaman abilities though he had to admit he never liked talking about them; he'd been bullied so much in the past he was cautious now whom he spoke to them of though Cuccu seemed nice enough so he disclosed some information to him. It was whilst he had been pondering what use his overly keen sense of smell could be used for by the pack as a whole that he had absently began to track a new smell.

Pepe liked following scent trails, not necessarily because of what they led him to, in fact quite the contrary sometimes depending what was at the end of them. It was late summer and the leaves had just began to turn, one or two had already tumbled off the trees branches however not enough to proclaim summer truly over, the air held the scent of baked earth and dusty summer evenings, though with the occasional breeze it swept a little of the heat away and he could faintly smell the scent of leaf mould, the predominate scent of autumn but it didn't linger before the scents of summer returned, it was the delicate turning point of the seasons and the mixture of scents excited him but not enough that he was distracted from the trail. He was following the scent of a wolf, it was familiar in the sense he'd smelt it about the pack lands though he'd never met whom it belonged to but he didn't doubt it was a female whom lived within the pack.

Rather a tall but lanky creature Pepe looked almost comical as he walked with a slight bob in each step which caused his Mohawk to waver from side to side, tickling an ear and causing him to shiver the sensation away every so often. He followed the trial contently until it grew stronger and stronger.
