So for most people, jobs tend to be the center of social lives, for many reasons. The money you work for supports whatever fun you like to have(games, internet, partying, ect) Your hours change when you can hang out with friends.
So heres why I posted this. Talk about where you work. What do you do, whats it like and your feelings about it and the people, weither they be customer or coworker. It doesnt have to be a current job, it could be a past one. Compare them, have some fun telling about fond memories or drama that you can laugh at later.

I worked at Rite Aid for a year, the job was alright but I didn't like my manager or assistant manager so it made going to work suck. One of the bright points of working there was getting rides home from one of the guys I worked with. Not that I liked the guy as anything other than an acquaintance but his car...I can't remember the make/model anymore but it was lovely, fast and had an engine that gave a low-throated roar that sent vibrations throughout your body. Ah yes... ^//^ In any case the ride home made suffering through the day worth it. Then one of my other coworkers was Casey Jones...who humored me by making frequent references to Ninja Turtles and by mimicking that Casey Jones. d:

My first job was at a Cici's pizza. The customers were ok for the most part, I hated when big families came in. THey'd push all the tables in a way no one else could get around without getting bumped. They'd never watch their kids so the kids would run around screaming. I had cool coworkers for the most part. Head cook and head cashier were annoying. one of the coks who ended up getting fired nicknamed me Sunshine(I think my blonde hair?) and he was always pretty cool. Only bad part about that job was the fact they only gave me 4 hours a week. I gave them literally a year of my time. i started September of my senior year and left September of my freshman year of college.

Oh wow, only 4 hours a week? That's terrible. That few hours would make me not even want to bother with it...although right now I'd probably take a job that was 4 hours a week.
Customers usually seem to be really good at not watching their kids. I worked in a store for awhile and there were always people with horrible children that they let run wild. One little girl spilled a drink all over the floor and a bunch of movies and her dad told her to just leave it since someone got paid to clean up stuff like that. My coworker was in the next aisle over and overheard it, he was pissed. He muttered something about minimum wage not being enough to clean up after some brat. The guy wasn't even going to let anyone know that she had spilled, he was just going to leave it to congeal into a sticky mess until someone else stumbled across it. Another guy let his kids go around and take literally every single label off the shelves in my department. It took me forever to figure out where they all went.

Thank god I never worked retail! I've only worked in the food industry. Yeah at my 1st job they were prety good sbout admitting to spills or cleaning it themselves so it wouldnt bother them, though they LOVED messing up the salad bar. We had to clean the edges of all the dressing buckets. The customers would watch us do it and when they went to get dressing would wipe the ladles on the edge to dirty them again! But I ended up leaving that job to work in a Sonic, a fast food drive in as a carhop.

It's not always bad though, I once had a little old lady come up to my line a couple of minutes after I had gotten on the intercom to announce that the store would be closing in half an hour (which I hated doing), she asked if I was the one who had made the announcement. I told her yes and she said that she had just wanted to come up and tell me that I have a very soothing voice. I don't particularly agree but it made me feel better about using the intercom. Being a carhop kind of sounds fun.

Being a carhop kind of sounds fun. Awww how sweet of her! It can be, as long as you have the right kind of skates to roll in. Everyone spills, it happens to the best of us, there are 2 I had(I fell abit more but nothing ever serious) My 1st fall, I was skating to the far side of the parkinglot and realized I was going too fast because it dips in the middle. well i didnt know till too late so I grab for the menu to slow/stop myself. My top half stopped, my legs went straight up in the air. I spilled EVERYTHING. And this guy had ice cream, drinks, shakes and food! The 2nd fall I was proud of. I had 2 LARGE drinks(called route 44s) and a salad. She was right outside the door in her car, but someone had recently spilled a drink. Well i fell, but somehow managed to keep the drinks on my trap and the salad(still intact in its container in a bad) landed next to me. This lady in her giant truck, leans out of her window all shocked and worried asking am I alright? I look at the food and drinks, realized noting was spilled all over my and held up the tray saying, "I didnt spill the drinks!" She just dropped back into her seat, covered her mouth and started laughing. She was so nice! She gave me a nice tip and when I offered to get her a new salad since the container had touched the floor(We've had customers want new food even when it was the outside container that touched the floor, not the food itself) She just said it was a little tossed and was fine! THat job was nicer, I always left work with money in my pockets, even in it was mostly in change XD

That's some talented falling. d: Some people are weird like that, they're too picky, it's great that she was nice about it. I would be a terrible carhop, I'd fall and spill and run into people's cars all the time. ^//^;

She was really nice, giving me a tip. The 1st fall guy didnt even bother. I actually ended up getting a tip from some lady who saw me fall. Thats what I thought too, but I did better than I thought. i think everyone thinks they'll do horrible, even though we dont.

Boss wasnt too happy because he'd lost my fiance the week before and lost our roommate the week after me.

Oh totally, just abit tingly when I hit a certain area but thats slowly fading away. I transfered from that under minimum wage job(We were paid servers wage which is like $2 or $3 plus tips) to a $7.60 hr job that was closer to my school. And best part...it was Gelato!

Ah, that's good then. How could you make under minimum wage? Here you have to be paid at least minimum wage, legally. But, Gelato! Yum, that would be a nice job.

This doesn't apply to servers and some other jobs in which customer tips are customary. I've applied for iobs like that, and I had heard so, before. Most times, if the place is doing well and keeps busy throughout the work day, it's a relatively upscale establishnnent in a decently affluent neighborhood, and they're good at what they do, then they walk out with considerably more than what they might have if it were just minimum wage.
