Chander surveyed his new home with eager pink eyes. Light yellow tipped paws carried the large, handsome male as he moved across the Pridal lands of the Mwezi'Johari. He and his family had only just arrived to rejoin the pride his mother had taught him and his sister so much about, but he was already feeling comfortable. Most probably due to the teachings he'd received on it's many ways and traditions.
He had been brought up under the knowledge that he had been born under the waning-crescent moon. He was of the lower-middle class, where the only role he could take was that of a hunter. Not that he minded. For him, a male, class was not the be all and end all. They could move ranks. Chander wasn't really interested in his ranking, after all it could change if he chose to marry. What this lion was more interested in was the ladies. Well, the ladies he assumed there were, because he hadn't actually seen any about yet.
They obviously hadn't seen him yet, and the moment they did he was sure the would come flocking.

Imani sighed. She couldn't find Mvushi anywhere, and she wanted to show him that she had become better at hunting since they first met. Where was he? Her purple eyes scanned her surrounds for sight of the older male but she couldn't see him. She frowned in disappointment. No fun! What was she going to do for the time being then? The grey lioness briefly pondered what she could do with the afternoon before an unfamiliar sight came into view.
An adult lion, colored like the setting sun had appeared. Was he a member of the pride? Imani tried to think but she was sure she hadn't met him before. Perhaps he's new! She thought to herself. Purple eyes light up at the thought of meeting another, and someone new at that.
Imani decided that it was her duty to introduce herself and show him around the pride. The juvenile nodded her head and trotted over to him. "Hi!" She said, looking up at him, a smile on her face.

Chander's ears perked up at the sound of another, who sounded distinctly girly. He smiled as he turned only to be disappointed that the girl was far too young for him. Oh well, at least there was a sign of life. And who knows, perhaps she could introduce him to other pride members. Other older, female pride members.
"Hi there little lady." He smiled, putting on some of his charm. Even though she was young, he still liked to tease the younger lionesses with his personality. He thought it was funny whenever the younger ones fawned over him.
"I'm Chander, to what do I owe the pleasure of your aquaintance?" He smiled again and added a wink.

The smile made her blush. He was quite charming, even for one such as her. Imani smiled back, happy that he was a cheerful lion, and let out a short giggle. A pleasure to meet her acquaintance? He certainly talked funny. Obviously the use of his words were lost on her.
"I'm Imani!" She chirped back, letting him know her name. "Nice to meet you Chander."
She paused before wondering what to ask next before blurting out the question she'd had in her mind since seeing him. "Are you new? I haven't seen you around before."

Chander smiled inwardly at her blush. He knew how to make the girls smile. He gave a flick of his purple tail, an unwanted fly had landed on it and that was no good. Chander wondered how his sister was coping with all the new people. He was sure he'd have to comfort her at some stage, no doubt she was working herself up and he'd have to bring her back down. But that would be later.
"Imani! A pretty name for a pretty little one." He commented, giving her another smile. Too much fun!
"I am new," he replied."I've come here with a bunch of lions to live. I hope that's okay?" He asked, feigning worry that they might not be accepted, even though he knew they already had been.
"So what class are you Imani?" He asked offhandedly. One of the thing Chander was working towards was determining which lions belonged to which classes.

"Thank you!" She giggled and blushed at his comment. She'd never thought of her name as pretty before, but she supposed, it was a nice name, and she was happy with it, but the concept of words being pretty was funny to the still growing cub.
"Oh really? There are others?" The cub's purple eyes grew wide. That meant there would be more to meet! Perhaps even some others my age, she thought to herself.
"Uh.. my class? Umm... I think my mother said my sisters and me are lower-middle class. We're to be hunters." She nodded. As a young one, she didn't really understand the full concept behind classes. They were just words to her at this point.
"I'm practicing to be a good hunter." She nodded, a flash of uncertainty showing. She wasn't sure she when she would be very good. She was hopeless at the moment.

"Yes, I cam with my mother, my twin sister, and some others." He nodded, it was peculiar, that they had formed a little band and worked their way towards their the Mwezi'Johari. He hadn't cared much for the others, they were just tag a longs at the last minute. It was him, his sister, and his mother that had been living in the rogue lands without the aid of others.
"That's my class too." He nodded, he and his sister had been morning under the same phase of the moon as Imani and her sisters. "We're both Hunters, don't worry, we can teach you what to do when you're older." He nodded. Living in the rogue lands, he'd had a lot of experience hunting for food, so he was sure that his practice would be well received.
"Do you know the others of your class? The other classes?" He asked.

"Oh, so many new lions to meet!" She responded, clearly excited at the prospect of new members of the pride. More opportunities for friends!
"You have a twin?" She was curious, her sisters all looked similar, but they definitely weren't twins. In fact, twins were an uncommon thing, and Imani hadn't met any before. Though she was sure she would now!
"Oh, okay, that would be nice." She nodded sincerely. It was difficult teaching herself to hunt, and she didn't want to ask her mother in fear of disappointing her, so the offer of help from another was well received.
"Other classes? I don't think so... My sisters are in my class though." She nodded, not well versed in the classes and their members at this point in time.

"When I've sorted everything out, then I'll take you out to give you a lesson." He nodded. What was the harm in helping out a little cub? It was the least he could do, and besides, he was sure the other females of the pride would look favorably on his willingness to help the young.
"Oh that's okay, I'm sure you'll learn about them soon." If he could remember, it was when he became an adolescent that his mother really started with the intricate details of the pride. Great Lion knows that was a chore, he thought to himself, remembering the boring lessons his mother had given him and his sister.
"It's getting late Imani, shouldn't you be on your way back to your den? I'm sure your mother would be getting worried." He smiled, the sun was setting and night would soon be upon them.

"Okay," she said cheerfully. The grey lioness would look forward to learning how to hunt properly, perhaps she wouldn't go bumping into other lions why she was doing it too. She remembered bumping into Mvushi, how embarrassing that was.
"Oh it is getting late!" She cried suddenly, her glance switching to the sun. Her mother would be mad if she was not home on time, she was sure of it. She didn't want to make her mother upset. Imani decided that it was time to leave.
"I'm sorry Chander, but I have to go home now!" She said in a hurry.
"Nice to meet you!" She waved a paw as she made her way home.

"That's okay. Hurry on home Imani!" He said as she left with a grin. Young cubs were funny, the way they were so confident, and then so worried the next moment. He remembered back to his days as a cub, playing with a sister and how he had not wanted to incur the wrath of his mother.
Then he frowned. He never found anything out about the rest of the pride females! Oh well, there'd be more time for that. After all, this was their home now, and they weren't going anywhere.
