User ImageMouse had spent the better part of the morning gathering materials and mixing her paints. But, now that she has them she can't decide what to paint. The rocks and trees near her den are full of false starts, so she took the time to scout out a new area and move her tools. Now, though, Mouse is simple looking at the large boulder she found. Giving it a very blank stare and trying to visualize what she wants on it. This gives her a rather cross-eyed look, humorous when combined with her tongue peeking between her lips.

User ImageUser ImageRabbit didn't know where he was. He had spent the better part of last week in some sort of a haze...this brown kimeti had given him some concoction and it was wonderful. Cottontail had been dutifully following him (perched on his back as usual), but he had also indulged in some of the stuff! Right now though, he was more concerned with food, water, and sleep. Water had been taken care of, as the Motherfather was kind and full of the stuff. Food was easy enough...he knew most of the berries and what was poisonous or edible (or fun). Sleep though...sleep he needed. He just needed a safe place to rest, and preferably warm. When he saw the boulder in the clearing, situated just perfectly in the sun, he barely noticed the strange-faced kimeti studying it. It didn't take long for him to start studying her and wondering what the boulder had done to her to make that face. One glance at Cottontail was all he needed to confirm her oddness.

It takes Mouse several long minutes, but she finally realizes someone is watching her. Pulling her tongue back in her mouth and blinking to clear her vision she turns to look at the buck. "Hi, I'm Mouse." She makes it a simple statement, with no demands to know his name, despite the curiosity she can't hide in her eyes. "Would you like to get painted? Or I could paint you." Her tone makes it clear she means two different things, though she makes no effort to clarify. Or, more accurately, Mouse doesn't relize that not everyone understands the differance.

The strange kimeti's name was Mouse. It was odd, but she didn't look much like a mouse. Then again, he doesn't look much like a rabbit.

"My name is Rabbit," he said cordially, in response to the first statement. He wasn't quite sure what to make of the second statement, since they seemed to be the same thing. But he'd met stranger kimeti, so it wasn't out of the ordinary.

"You may paint me, if you like!," he replied to her question. It really couldn't be that bad, and maybe he could keep it. He didn't really have a home, but he did have little caches throughout the swamp.
At any rate, what was the worse that could happen?

Mouse smiles at Rabbit, then spends several minutes looking between him, her paints and the boulder. The concentration on her face makes it clear she is studding all three in an attempt to decide where to start.

Finally, she turns to her paints, a collection of blues, purples and reds. Circling these she keeps glancing up at Rabbit, then grabs a brush in a turtle shell of bird's egg blue. Brush (which is really just a bundle of feathers) clamped firmly in her teeth, Mouse walks up to Rabbit and makes a curving stroke from the bottom of his shoulder scale to his rump. The paint starts out thick and the stroke broad, but as it goes it gets thinner and putters out at the end.
