Moure was out for a Jog again, one of his usual past-times when he was looking for an Errand to run. The patchwork Runner just liked to run anyway, and it was always good to go out and get some fresh air. Plus, he'd actually found some good Errands to run while he'd been out jogging, ranging from Food Runs to scheduling jobs for later. So far none of the jogs had blown up in his face, so it seemed like a better way to get Errands then just walking around with a sign that said, "Free Labor". And it helped the patchwork to meet as many people as he could. Moure still didn't think he knew too many other students, even though he'd been at the school since right before the Final Exams. It was always good to make aquaintances, as he never knew when someone was going to need some help. And he did not want to miss out on an opportunity to help someone in need.
Plus, running and jogging around in general helped keep him in shape and capable of performing well at his job. It was generally a win-win for him.
In any case, Moure was just taking a jog around the campus. By now he knew a lot of the backroads and forgotten paths, and all the main crossroads, of sorts.
The Runner was still on the look out for an Errand or Order to perform, too. And usually this was a good way to find some. (After all, he'd gotten jobs from at least...three(?) other students this way, and he wasn't going to miss an opportunity now.)
If anyone looked like they would need a helping hand, Moure would be sure to lend one.

Great victories came with their downfalls...
Riyo tried to keep that in mind as she exited the library with... A large amount of books in her hands. It had been the first time she'd really been able to look through the selection (though she hadn't even covered half of that damn building), and so many books struck her fancy that... She took the majority of them with her.
So many it was just a little bit hard to see over them. "I think... I need to limit myself next time." The feline groaned, glancing down to her nergal hazcat companion who was trying to aid her by carrying one of the books on his back. He gave a loud meow most likely in agreement of her statement. This wasn't easy on him, either.
"Yeah yeah, complain at me later when I don't have a huge stack of books I can drop on you." Not that she actually would... On purpose.
The sounds of someone approaching at a fast pace caused her ears to perk up, her raised eyebrow hidden behind a book on music theory. Whoever they were, she hoped to Jack they were watching where they were going... Cause she wasn't having an easy time of it.

Moure realized as he was jogging that he was coming around the bend to where the school's amazingly large library was. The patchwork himself hadn't gone in there much, but when he had he was always in awe of the huge library. It was much bigger than Dr. Cphira's collection and that was saying something.
In any case, as Moure jogged along the path at a good pace (for him anyway. A lot of others would have called his jogging running in the first place, but that wasn't the issue here.) when he saw someone with a hazcat come out of the library. And with a lot of books.
Then, they turned onto the pathway that he had been jogging on. Faintly he heard the student, probably a ghoul from their voice, telling the cat that they'd probably need to limit themselves next time. Which implied that they might be having a tad bit of trouble with carrying all of those books. In any case, the Runner immediately switched his footing into a slide, which slowed him enough that he stopped before he could run into her. (He's already crashed into one student before and sent them sprawling, and it would have been even worse if he'd crashed into this student since they were carrying that tower of books.) He stepped to the side and noticed that the nergal hazcat had a book on it's back too. So many books...
Almost instinctively, Moure leaned down and removed the book from the cat's back. It was probably trying to help it's person, who seemed to be the blonde cat-tailed ghoul. Moure felt the sudden need to help this ghoul with her books. After all, he'd been looking for a Errand to perform. Thinking he should probably ask her if she wanted help first (which was pretty much just a formality since Moure would help her even if she say yes), the patchwork said, "Want a hand with those?"
Regardless of her answer, Moure reached up and took the top book, and put it with the one he'd picked up from the cat, and then repeated the process with a few more books until the ghoul's face could be seen. Hoping she wouldn't mind his help, he offered his assistance further. "I could carry all of those for you, if you want." He already had a few of the books, so he might as well offer, right? Plus, he was a patchwork. He'd pretty much been built for the purpose of Errand Running and performing Orders, so this could definitely count in either catagory.
Hopefully this ghoul wouldn't mind his help.

The sad fact was, the feline did, in fact, mind.
At the sound of sliding, Riyo immediately stopped in her movements, ears standing at attention in case she needed to try and jump out of the way. Luckily, it didn't come to that. Who the hell was this? It didn't sound like Jericho, Deacon, or Shun... So why were they talking to her?
"No, that-" ... Wouldn't be necessary. Her eyes glanced upward when she saw a hand touch the top book, the removal of said piece of literature revealing red, and somewhat irritated looking eyes.
Felix, however, let out a relieved sounding purr from behind the gas mask, stretching out his limbs once he was free of the weight. Unlike Riyo, he didn't mind a hand every now and then.
"Excuse me." Now even her voice sounded angry. "I don't recall saying you could just take these items from me. In fact, I was about to politely decline your offer." Riyo's tail flicked with irritation as she spoke, looking over the patchwork boil now that she had full vision back. "But since you weren't going to listen to me anyways... GIVE ME BACK MY BOOKS YOU b*****d." She hissed, her face contorting into rage. If her hands had been free, she would've just taken them from the boil...
The hazcat now sitting next to Riyo's legs pawed at her, trying to get the ghoul to settle down. He hadn't meant any harm... Not that she understood that, or that Felix could make her understand.

The fact that the ghoul did not want help, like any help, was something that Moure's brain was having issues trying to fully comprehend. The cat-like ghoul's words stopped when she had spotted Moure's fingers, so Moure hadn't realized she was going to respond so...excitable. For lack of a better word.
At least the hazcat seemed pleased with Moure's assistance. That was a plus in the patchwork's book.
The ghoul's reaction, however, somewhat baffled the Runner. She didn't want help? Why wouldn't she want help? At least Moure could see her face now. And could see how extremely furious she seemed to be at that exact moment. After she'd hissed out her final words, Moure looked from the rather large pile of books she was carrying to the few he had taken off. Usually, any straight-up raging Order would have been obeyed by the patchwork, but he resisted the urge to do what she'd said. The Runner looked back at the Library, then to the ghoul.
Moure could take some verbal lashings, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to push this ghoul's rage further. (He could take a lot of swearing and threats, if he had to, but wasn't like he enjoyed it or anything.)
Once he was sure she was done, he nodded in the direction of the Library and finally spoke. "You know...if you let me carry some of your books for you, you'd be able to get more." It looked like the ghoul enjoyed her books, so this sounded like it might be a good way to calm her down.
If she continued to freak out, Moure would probably give back her books, but he hoped that she might listen to his statement and take it into consideration.

The baffled reaction she received didn't seem to stop the feline. For some reason, she got that a lot. "Well?" Was her irritated response to time lapsing without her vision being blocked by the books he'd taken.
When the patchwork boil pointed out that she could get more books if he helped, a blonde eyebrow raised in response. "Haha, I see what you're trying to do." A smirk showed up on her face, though whether it was a good sign or not was debatable. "You see, Mr. Book snatcher, I'm not an idiot. Everyone has motives for what they do, and I bet you're trying to make a quick seed off the poor, helpless cat ghoul."
Puffing up, Riyo's ears tilted back and her eyes narrowed. "Listen here. I'm not some weak-kneed damsel. I've been doing things for myself since I was young, and I'm not about to stop now, so find some other ghoul to exploit."
What the cat demon failed to admit was that the possibility of her being able to read all of these books before they were due back was slim to none with all she had on her plate, so going back for more would be a little pointless. Riyo was too prideful to say all that.
Well, it looked like the two of them would be standing there arguing for awhile. Time for Felix to lay down and relax while he had the opportunity. Maybe looking cute would kill some of the tenseness in the air.

Apparently there was no deterring the ghoul from her want to carry her own books, which still baffled Moure a bit that she was flat-out refusing help.
Her response to his suggestion was somewhat to be expected, although Moure hadn't anticipated that level of rejection (or the ghoul's reasoning, for that matter). As she said that he had to have some alternate and much more nasty motive that to just help her, Moure was the one who's eyebrow raised. He gave a slight shake of his head and closed his eyes for a moment, then looked at her again and said with a slight chuckle in his throat, "So, you think everyone has to have a dark or negative motive for helping some else out? Well, I suppose do have a motive, but it's not to make a 'quick seed' off you,nor is it anything of the negative variety." In fact, Moure rarely took money for his services, and usually attempted to refuse them when they were offered.
As she spoke again, about how she wasn't some damsel in distress, Moure nodded, taking in her words. Did she really think he was helping her for the sole reason of getting money out of her? Moure shook his head when she's finished. While her expression was a tad daunting, he still spoke again. "I have no intention of exploiting you, or anyone for that matter."In all actuality, that thought had actually never. It was probably since he was usually the one being exploited for his skills as an Errand Runner.
"I do have a motive, I suppose." After a moment, Moure moved the books he'd removed from her stack to one hand, and used the other to point at himself. "I'm a patchwork. Specifically, I'm an Errand Runner. That's literally what I was built to do. I run Errands, which includes carrying things for people. Helping others is seriously my purpose for existing." He gave a slight shrug, looking at the rest of her book tower that was still in her hands before he finished with, "You can claw my arm to your heart's content if it'll convince you that I'm helping you because I help people." Was Moure lying? Not at all. If that would convince her that he was helping her just to help, he would let her. Moure was just that determined to help her.
He'd let her answer to those, and if she was still stubborn and unrelenting, he might give her back a few of her books. He would carry the hazcat's though, at least.

Oh great. Now he was laughing at her. She was trying to be serious and he was having himself a good 'ol chuckle.
Yes, to Riyo, everyone did things for a reason. 99% of the time it was for themselves. That's what she'd come to expect from life. Everybody wanted something.
When the patchwork denied that he'd offered help to acquire some of her money, the feline was obviously skeptical. The ghoul had never actually talked to a patchwork or learned of their lot in life, so it was news to her. "... The way you talk it sounds like you seem to think there aren't other options."
... Not that she had room to speak. From where she stood, her own path was quite linear. Wait... What was that about clawing his arm?
"Why would I do that?" She immediately responded to his offer, a little flabbergasted that he would suggest such a thing. "There's no point in me doing that. My nails would get dirty and you'd have holes in your arm. Jeez. Don't offer to let people do bodily harm to you just to make a point." What a pain. Usually when Riyo tossed out an insult or two to someone, they got the point and left her the ******** alone. Was helping her really that important?
"Carry the Jack damn books then." Riyo practically growled as she started to march towards the demon dorms, her tail twitching with frustration. Really, why was everybody so apt to help her? Maybe she had a new student smell that drew people in or something. Would it wear off after a couple of weeks?
When Felix noticed Riyo taking off towards their home away from home, the hazcat hopped up and followed close behind. It was a lost puppy complex. She rarely went anywhere without him... Not by her own choice, either.

Moure noticed how skeptical the feline ghoul's face had become, adn then listened to the words that accompanied it. Moure gave a slight nod at them, saying almost casually, "In my entire life, there haven't been any other options."
That was completely accurate too. If you didn't help another patchwork finish their work if they were struggling (or recieve help if you were struggling), the work wouldn't get finished, and all of the patchworks would be punished for it. The only other option than 'helping others' was pretty much, 'get yourself flayed alive' or something similar to that. So, it had really been pretty much no other options.
Moure looked at the ghoul as she immediately responded to his statement. He gave a slight shrug. "I suppose, although I could just sew them back together. One of the few benefits of being undead." He said, trying to gauge how well that statement would go over.
Then, she finally said he could help her. With a slight grin on his face, he kept pace, his long legs allowing him to easily keep up with her walking. He stayed slightly behind her, just enough so he wouldn't pass her.
After a moment, he asked, "Want me to carry any more of that tower you're holding?" If she didn't he would still be content with just carrying what he had picked up.
Moure looked back at the hazcat that was trailing after the feline ghoul. He nodded at it and gave it a look that usually translated to, "Want to ride on my shoulder?". The hazcat hadn't had issues with being helped before, after all.

It was a sad thing, to hear the patchwork say something tragic in a nonchalant way. Even then, however, it seemed like he was doing better than she was. At the very least, he seemed happy with his 'only option'.
With all the books she read, it was hard for the feline to comprehend that she knew little to nothing of what it meant to be a patchwork. Most likely because she was a demon who did her own dirty work. "I'm sure it still hurts though." The feline pointed out, continuing at a semi-fast pace. There was still no point for her to inflict bodily harm to the boil. She wasn't THAT mad that he took the books. Irksome, but not worthy of an attack.
Of course, when he asked if he could carry more of her books, she immediately hunched over to keep him from just taking them again. "No. No I don't." Best not to push it. She had no intention of hurting him now, but if he kept pushing the matter, there were no guarantees. Thank Jack the demon dorms were in sight.
When Felix noticed their new undead friend shooting him an inviting look, he didn't hesitate. With a large jump and a flap of his wings, the hazcat draped himself over the boil's shoulder like a fashion accessory, the motorboat purr of a content cat shortly following.

It seemed Moure's earlier statement had quieted the ghoul, which made Moure wonder a bit if his life before coming to the Academy had been so completely different from those of everyone else around him.
The patchwork looked over to the book-loving feline, a tad curious as to why she was so reluctant to accept help. At her statement that getting clawed would still hurt, Moure gave a bit of a shrug and responded with, "I guess it does, but it's not like it's permanent or anything." With patchworks, not much was permanent anyway. He'd seen too many of Cphira's other creations randomly with other limbs or flesh patches, usually having been at the receiving end of their Doctor's temper.
Moure held the books he'd taken slightly tighter when the his question went over badly. While he had the urge to simply hold all the books, he resisted and managed to be happy carrying what he'd managed to take from the top of the ghoul's pile. He gave a nod, to acknowledge that she could carry the books she still had and that he wouldn't snatch them.
When the hazcat lept onto Moure's shoulder, the patchwork gave it a nod. He was used to his boogeymon sitting there, so the weight was familiar enough the the Runner didn't have to shift much to make it ideal for both of them. Moure reached up give the minipet a tentative scratch behind the ears. Feline minipets like that kind of stuff, right? Moure looked over at the student and then back at the hazcat. "So, what's this little one's name?"
Then, something seemed to occur to the patchwork. Had he even remembered to introduce himself? Thinking back, he didn't think he had, nor had he asked the ghoul what her name was. Figuring he better rectify this, the patchwork said, "My name's Moure, by the way." He paused, looking toward the dorms they were getting closer to, before asking, "May I ask as to what your name might me?" The feline ghoul was still a tad daunting, so Moure figured it would be a smart choice to be a tad more polite than he had been since he'd met her.

No, she supposed physical wounds weren't permanent... Though, Riyo knew all-too-well that today's physical injury could become tomorrow's mental scar. Was it not the same with patchworks? He seemed mellow towards everything... Maybe things like that weren't as hard for him.
When attention appeared to stray away from her remaining books, the cat demon relaxed. Crisis averted. "His name is Felix." Riyo saw no harm in introducing the hazcat, since he was busy betraying her sucking up to this new boil.
"Meowr." Was the muffled introduction Felix tried to give himself, not that anyone else could understand. Oh well. That's what Riyo was for, right? Almost immediately, the hazcat's purr picked up in volume when he received attention from Moure. Transportation and a scratch behind the ears. Couldn't beat that!
For a moment, Riyo contemplated refusing to give her name. She'd done that to many other boils before...
"My name is Riyo." What the hell, he'd asked nicely. Though she wouldn't say it was nice to meet him.
As they reached the door to the demon dorms, the feline stared at it for a moment before backing up slightly... To open it with her foot. She really was stubborn, wasn't she?

Moure gave a slight shrug to the ghoul's silence. Apparently his reactions were different from those she had been expecting, maybe? It made Moure wonder just how different his existence had been from those of the other students.
"Felix." Moure repeated, continuing to stroke the hazcat's head. As the feline gave a meow and purr, Moure gave it a slight grin, and scratched behind it's ears a bit more like he had been doing before. "Good name." The ghoul seemed to be a little more relaxed, so Moure decided it would be safer to stay on topics of conversation that did not involve his 'stealing' of her books. It suddenly struck him that this ghoul and Shun, a reaper he'd met when he'd first been enrolled, had something in common. Both seemed to be a tad on the quiet side, but they both had friendly minipets. The boil's Miced Tea had been quite a nice creature, if memory served correctly.
As the ghoul actually responded with her name, Moure was slightly taken back. He hadn't expected her to tell him, in retrospect. He gave a nod and said, "Well, it's nice to meet you, Miss Riyo." Drop the 'Miss' title? Keep it? Moure realized that he was adopting the polite front that he usually kept for his Doctor's friends. His brain was probably connecting the fact that she was a somewhat angry-sounding individual, plus the fact that she was a well-dressed demon, and coming up with the conclusion of, 'Be respectful or they might take your head off. Literally.'
As they reached the door to the Demon's Dorms, Moure began to open his mouth to ask if she'd like him to open it. As Riyo opened it with her foot, Moure simply closed his mouth. Apparently she was used to doing things for herself, although the patchwork had already got that impression from her eariler actions. Moure waited for her to go through before closing the door behind them. Strangely enough, this one of of the few times Moure actually entered the Demon Dorms. Usually when he was hanging out with Danny, they met at his room or outside somewhere, but not her's, so... the inside was new to him.
...Although it did remind him suspiciously of Cphira's front room and where ever she would allow her 'friends' to be. Apparently it was a demon thing, then.

Good name, huh? There was a first for everything. Most people just raised an eyebrow at her semi-cliche choice of names. The feline preferred simplistic names as opposed to over-complicated messes.
If Riyo could read minds, she would've been enraged at the fact that she was being compared to a certain reaper. Shun was nothing but a b*****d in her opinion. "Yeah, yeah." Miss. It felt like she was back at work for some reason. "You don't have to call me 'miss'. That's usually something my employees call me. Bunch of suck ups." That's what happened when you employed a herd of lowly, lazy demons.
As they entered, Riyo continued straight. "My room is not far from here." The ghoul commented, cautiously pointing towards one of the doors down the hall. The higher floors may have had a better view, but the lowers were much more convenient.
The door itself seemed well-tended. Glistening as if it was freshly polished. "Mm, key." Oh hell... She needed to reach into her pocket and grab the damn key. Uhhh... Uhhh... Oh, yes. Eyebrows furrowing, the feline tried to use her tail to scoop the key ring out of her pocket. C'mon. She'd done this before...

Moure gave a nod when Riyo dropped the title. No miss, then. The next sentence was an interesting one though, and Moure gave her a slightly curious look. "Employees? You run a company?" He asked, trying to imagine how she was managing to do that at such a young age and currently attending an academy. It seemed rather difficult to imagine, which made Moure feel a bit more for her. Perhaps that's why she seemed so self-sufficient?
Moure gave another nod, following after the cat-like ghoul. He gave the hazard-masked Felix another scratch, and looked around the building as if to memorize the pathways he was passing. After all, he didn't come to these dorm often, despite being friends with Danny and a few other demons. If he got an Errand to go find someone in the demon dorms, at least he'd be able to find his way around the first floor.
Moure took in the shiny door front. It looked like someone had just been cleaning it. Had Riyo done it herself, or did the gnomes clean the demon dorm doors? After a moment of contemplating the gnomes, he figured that Riyo had done it herself. He noticed the cat-ghoul's apparent frustration and looked at her, then noticing that she really did need to retrieve her key. Which was apparently in her pocket.
Now, Moure might not have been the brightest crayon in the box, but he knew that reaching into a ghoul's pocket would probably not be a good idea. (And would probably get his head knocked off.) "Would you like me to hold the books so you can get your key...?" He asked, figuring that would be the safest way to go. The worst thing she could do in reaction to that question was just to snap at him, right?
