So i want to a red dwarf Q&A the other day and the first thing said when they came on was along these lines.....

Robert Lewellyn: Before any of you ask, the current news on the red dwarf film is basically this, If the red dwarf film made a sound, it would be this The red dwarf movie sound

He went on to talk about how all the actors are busy clawing at the red dwarf movie gates and that Doug Naylor is still in australia trying to get money to fund the film.

At this rate the cast are going to be in their 80's before they start shooting the film sad

What do you lot rekon the chances are of the film actually being made? And if it isnt, do you rekon they will make another series?

Well. I do hope the movie gets made. But, if not. Then they better start the sieries up again before Lister has a heart attack from all the lagar and curry he has been eating. Not enough running from monsters and such you know. wink

I was at a convention and heard the same. I'd want us all to be able to donate and help get the funds for the movie!

I'm gradually giving up hope of it ever being made within my lifetime... stare And I'm only 16. That's a lot of hopelessness! The Despair Squid itself couldn't make much more misery...

I don't know why they don't think of letting the fans donate. I mean, there are enough out there...

Besides, I'd be happy if they made it with the sort of effects that the early series (plural. Does anybody know how to write 'series' plural? xp ) had. As long as it was MADE.

stare

I wouldn't mind a new series either - 8 finished so open endedly... sad

I'm still clinging to the last thread of hope. But if it doesn't get made with the original actors, then it should stay unmade forever.

I totally agree. I'd rather have no movie than a movie without the originals in it. 3nodding

I just had a thought - you're sure it's not old news you've heard/read? On the official site they said they were going to start filming in Australia, but that was back in 2003; three years ago. They had to stop due to lack of funding. However, if it's 2005/6 news, that's fantastic! 3nodding

I don't rekon it will be made, I know that seems horrible, but it's been well over ten years since the last series was released and although they may want to, it might be that they've sort of...lost it, cos it's been so long...does that make sence?

Wasn't there some stupid rumour that Hugh Grant, would be playing Rimmer..What the hell?!...Maybe i was just imagining it, but i heard about it..

The last series was released in '99...

And if they were going to make it with other actors Hugh Grant wouldn't be so bad as Rimmer...

Do you think the Red Dwarf Crew will have to face off against a familiar villain in the movie?
