Her strength was steadily increasing now. However the first few weeks had been extremely hard on her as the pups frequent nursing seemed to drain all of her energy and reserves. But now she was returning back to normal, though certainly still had a ways to go to return to her previous condition from before pregnancy. Apollo certainly helped ease the burden some days, watching the pups so she could get an extra bit of rest or to take a moment to train lightly. She could not afford to stay weak for long, but for the moment Orithia was content with how things were going.
She had decided to take two of her children out today while the other two stayed behind with Apollo. Tomorrow she would make sure to spend time with them, but for today it was just these two. So she began to lead her daughter and one of her sons away from the den site. "What would you two like to do today?" She would try to do something for both Gwyn and Lucian, the pack may see otherwise, but Orithia wanted to treat her children as equals as best she could, especially while so young. Gwyn-Teir trotted along behind her mother, but beside her brother. Already she had been told on a number of occasions how things worked here, that males were of the lower rank, but her mother had already spoke about treating her brothers with respect. So it was hard to know just what to think some days. Today though her and her brother were given a great opportunity to spend time alone with their mother. In time chances like this would be slim as she would be expected to follow with pack rules and her brother would be a slave for the sisters to boss about.
She glanced over to Lucian smiling at him. "What do you think we should do Lucian?" Gwyn would let him chose what they did first. Being the daughter of the princess meant she was always in the spotlight so it was time for her brother to have his moment to shine.

Lucian watched his mother with sharp, grey eyes, pleased that she seemed to be getting stronger, but still worried nonetheless. Orinthia was, to his young mind, the most beautiful female in the world; as delicate as a budding flower, but so very strong, most worthy of protection, yet never willing to accept it. She was a warrior and a princess, but most of all, she was his mother. As much as he loved her, he knew that she loved him and all of his siblings, male and female. Of course, he also knew that as a male, he was somehow lesser. He did not understand why, but it was the way it was, so he would just have to live with it. Still, somehow, someday, he wanted to find a way to protect his mother and his sisters.
For now, however, he was to enjoy a rare day with just his mother and Gwyn, one of his sisters. His tail wagged in appreciation as his sister offered to let him choose what they were going to do first. He might be lower on the hierarchy, but the females in his life still tried to treat him like he was an equal, or at least important enough for his opinion to matter. But…what did he want to do?
He knew that he would probably not be allowed to learn to fight in order to protect the females. They would be the warriors, not he. Besides, they were probably too little to learn much of anything, anyway, and he did not want to wear his mother out. There was always the river, which he had to admit was awfully tempting. They would be able to enjoy each others’ company without being bothered by anyone else, which would be nice, since spending such quality time with his mother was rare, and surely the river should be relaxing for her. But…he also really wanted to learn about the crafters. Most of them might be females, but sometimes a male was allowed to learn and he knew they had an important job, crafting the armor that would protect the warriors. If he could do that, he could be truly useful to the pack and really help protect his important people, if only a little. Hmm…
Maybe both? Maybe if he just asked his mother to tell him about the crafters? She could relax by the river, and he could satisfy some of his curiosity and show his interest in the profession all at once? Pleased with his compromise, he finally spoke up.
“Can we go to the river?” he asked. “And can you tell us about the crafters?”

Orithia smiled widely at her daughter. It was good to see that Gwyn was taking their talk to heart and allowing her brother to do things as well. This would not happen all the time of course, however when they were alone like this it was best to treat each other as equals. All too soon things would change, once her pups were a bit older their duties within the clan would set them down the paths that had been chosen for those genders from when the pack had first been made. Lucian would become a slave, he would be lowest of the low unless he found a way to raise himself to one of the higher male ranks, whereas Gwyn would follow in her own footsteps, training to be a warrior and one day a Queen.
Nodding her head to Lucian she adjusted their course a bit so they would reach the river. "We can go to the river, however we cannot go in it. The current is far too strong still." Perhaps in a few weeks the river will be calmer and she could allow her pups to swim, but doing so today would only lead to disaster. She fell silent for a few minutes as they made their way to the river. It would be a quiet place where she could give her full attention to her children. No one should interrupt them while they were there and it would be a welcome change of pace.
When they reached the river Orithia found a nice soft patch of grass below a large tree to sit. The shade would help keep them cool and the sound of the river in the background made it all seem very peaceful. Turning to look at Lucian she smiled. "Now what would you like to know about the crafters? Anything at all or something specific?"
Gwyn didn't miss her mothers approving look when she let Lucian pick where to go. She loved her brothers very much even if the pack would like her to not to. It was a hard life for her, she was in the packs eyes almost all the time, expected to act a certain way, and yet when she was with only her family she was allowed to play with her brothers as if they were sisters. Rough housing was certainly allowed, as was running in the mud and doing regular puppy things. The differences were often confusing to her. But she was still young, eventually it would make sense and she would understand why her mother allowed her and her brothers to do things the pack did not.
"The river sounds fun." She chimed in after Orithia had explained that they could not go swimming. She didn't want to go swimming anyways. Besides, this was Lucian's thing, after they were done this she would pick something to do together. Stretching out in the long grass Gwyn looked expectantly towards her brother to see just what he wanted to know about the crafters. Admittedly she was pretty curious about them too, other than a mention of them here and there they did not know much about this little talked about yet important role within the pack.

He felt a small bout of satisfaction that his mother seemed pleased with his choice of location, and he was glad that Gwyn also seemed interested in his choice of topic. Just because it was his time, didn't mean he wanted to bore others.
Now, what did he want to know? Well, anything. Everything.
"What do they make? Everyone speaks well of them. How is what they do important?" That seemed as good a place as any to start. He knew males weren't supposed to be warriors, but maybe, if crafters were important enough, useful enough, he might be satisfied becoming one.
