Tossing his head he sniffed the air, ears flicking back as he caught the faintest sound from behind him, but it was only a savannah hare and not his concern for the time being. No, the point of this little lone excursion was to loot the hideout of a certain pirate. A wicked grin curled his lips as he remembered one of the last times he had met the black and white lioness, directly after she had successfully liberated a bundle of cloth from some unsuspecting rogue... he had tricked her into dropping it and promptly stole it from her. But the next time they met, she had stolen the fruit he had collected for that evenings festivities. Frowning at the recollection he snorted and put his nose tot he ground. That tricksy pirate always hid her treasures well, but he was getting good at scenting them out.

Zamora narrowed her crimson eyes, laying herself down flat on her belly, her white pelt concealed by be the thick sand she had rolled in earlier. She'd perfected this little maneuver long ago, since she was a cub, practicing on her brother Omari more then once. Her white pelt had never been a hindrance to her, nor had her gender, despite what a pawful of the grabby males of her Pride thought.

Pushing those distracting thoughts aside, she concentrated on the task at hand. Which was to spring the carefully laid trap for that arrogant, pain in the *&^%, StormBorn that was constantly harassing her and her good hidy holes.

She was pretty sure he wasn't stupid enough to fall for the snare she set, he'd notice it before hand, unless she was incredibly lucky, which she would take, but the snare should distract him long enough for her to push the log she was hiding behind down the slope at him, which should hopefully push him into the deep ravine. If not, her own body weight, for she would be right behind the log, would.

Stepping forwards slowly, ears twitching like miniature radar, the stormborn youth advanced on the hidey hole carefully. he and this particular pirate had played this game before and he knew she would not have taken the last few burglaries quietly. Suddenly the wind shifted and he caught the barest hint of her scent, but it was enough. She was here... no doubt planning another hare-brained scheme to protect her treasures from his paws. Grinning to himself in anticipation, he ducked his head and continued forwards, paws moving silently over the dry earth as he sought out the trap.

Zamora stilled as his paralanguage changed, he'd caught wind of her. Damn savanna winds, she thought to herself sourly as she held her breath. Come on you lily livered, snotty nosed, cliff dwelling, male find the damn snare already... Patience was usually her strong suite, but when it came to him, it was like it took the quickest tide out of the bay.

The female Pirate had left the hidy hole partly exposed, just the tiny bit of a trinket sticking out of the base of the tree. She normally was far more careful then that, but she wanted him not only to find it, but to be suspicious and look around, thus finding the tripwire to the snare at about his foreleg height. The hopefully he would either step over it, (not the best option for her) or think himself clever and follow it to its source, lining himself up in the perfect position to be knocked into the ravine.

Come on..come on already...

It didn't take long for him to locate the tripwire, the trinket having been sighed and then ignored a while ago. It wasn't her treasure that the stormborn was really interested in, it was tweaking the uptight pirate's tail that gave him the greatest pleasure.

Grinning as he spotted the trap he nosed about it for a moment then, keeping to one side, he followed it back to its base. Tilting his head he glanced around, pale eyes narrowed against the glare as he peered up the slope, making out the shape of a suspiciously placed log. He already knew she was up there, and it didn't take a genius to work out what she had planned, considering there was a very convenient ravine behind him.

Pretending he was still sniffing about the wire, he kept an eye on the ridge and the log, wondering just when she would spring the real trap.

Zamora smiled, Ok so maybe he wasn't so dumb after all. Which was not a bad thing, it meant that he was worth the time it had taken to set up the elaborate trap. She just hoped he wasn't expecting the second part of the log portion of it.

Deciding that she'd kept them both waiting long enough, she kicked the rock free that had been holding the log in place, letting it roll down the slope, gaining speed as it went. Zamora fully expected him to evade the damn thing with some strange leapy, twisty, flippy move he undoubtedly learned from that bright yellow freak who couldn't speak right. When he did, he'd find her on him, because she was right behind the log.

She'd use her body weight to push him into the ravine a hair's breath before the log settled on top, trapping him.

As soon as the log started to rumble down the slope towards him, he let a self-satisfied smirk curl across his muzzle as he turned to face the beast. She was inventive, that was for sure, and undaunted too, but she was underestimating him badly if she thought he would fall for such a simple trick. Stepping away from the trip wire, and snagging the half-buried treasure in his maw he tossed the trinket round his neck to join the pendant that already glinted against his fur.

Waiting patiently as the log gathered speed and bore down on him, he made a note of just how close the drop behind him was. The ground started to shake unde rhis paws yet still he waited... waited until he almost felt the rough bark of the log brush against his chest then he leaped, brown body neatly twisting in the air, forelegs spread wide in anticipation. Just as he had guessed, the black and white body of the lioness slammed into his chest as she jumped from behind the log. Powerful forelegs wrapped around her far more slender body, locking the two lions together in a death-grip as Zamora's momentum sent them crashing down into the ravine behind Lucivar, their bodies tightly entangled.

Damn him... she thought as she felt his paws lock around her, a growl leaving her . Quicker then a snake she went for his throat, oddly enough, not to rip it out, but to grab the trinket and rip it free tossing it away from them both to be lost in the long, high, grass of the savanna. She'd rather lose the damn thing forever then lose it to him!

Figuring the landing was going to be hard, she shifted so that all of her weight was on him, deciding that she'd use his bigger bulk to soften her landing and if she was lucky he'd be knocked out by the whole affair.

Gritting her teeth, she prepared for the violent stop at the end of their free fall, just at the log settled over them with a crash and a shower of dirt and debris.

Well...@#$^

Lucivar saw the glint of metal as the trinket went flying, but only laughed at her enraged expression, her mouth full of his brown mane making her look like she was trying to grow a beard. Grinning as he peered up into her face, he tightened his grip about her shoulders then stuck out one back leg, catching the side of the ravine and sending them end over end in a dizzying tumble.

His shoulder hit the cliff base, sending them bouncing down the shallower slope of rock and debri. Wincing as jagged rock slashed his body he curled his muscular form round the pirate, protecting her as best he could as they tumbled. Finally they skidded to a halt in a cloud of dust and flying stones. Keeping his grip tight he struggled to catch his breath after being winded, but unfortunately for her, he hadn't hit his head and was still fully conscious.

Grinning despite the pain he peered up at her with a roughened chuckle. "Well.. hello there Miss Zamora."

She had to grudgingly admit she was impressed not only with his chivalry in regards to their rather rough free fall come landing, but to his sheer strength and size as well. Not something she was going to ADMIT to him, ever. Still, it was rather nice to have a male hold her gently, one she didn't have to compete with...what a novel concept...

Then he had to go ruin it by opening his mouth!

Glaring at him with her crimson eyes, she growled long and low, " Don't you hello me, and its Sanguine. You don't get to call me Zamora you cliff dwelling mongrel..." then she frowned, " How the *&^% do you know my name?"

Looking down at him, she still hadn't moved from his embrace, her paws wrapped around his neck as much as his were around her torso.

Chuckling at her prickly attitude, he simply grinned back at her lazily, fully content to relax with her stretched out on top of him like some kind of furry throw. It was fairly novel to him, to have a female who was not a sibling or another relative draped over him. "I have my ways you know." Arching a brow his grin widened, almost cheeky now. "Sanguine hu? That's your adult name? It fits you M'lady. Matches that angry temper of yours."
PostPosted: Sat Aug 06, 2011 3:16 pm

M'lady? Who was he calling that? Zamora narrowed her eyes at him, " Your ways..let me guess, that golden boy of yours with the funny accent. He seduced one of my friends a few raids ago...I bet she sung like a bird for him." Her neck ruff rose in ire. " You Stormborn do not play fair."

She glared at him a few more moments, then snapped out, " Since you know my name, are you going to give me yours, or should I just make one up for you?"

Oddly enough, she didn't make a effort to move away from him, enjoying how warm he was and how soft his belly fur felt under her paws.

Lucivar's grin only widened as she continued to spit at him in her accented voice. Her crimson eyes, narrowed in a deadly glare, shone in the shadows of the ravine they now occupied, the sun blocked by the well-placed log far above them. Fully amused by her animosity towards him and enjoying this little verbal spar, he chuckled at her guess but only smirked. "Well well... so he is finally taking on more of our ways, that is good to know. But you are right, we never play fair. Where would the fun be if we did?" He added.

"My name is Lucivar." He offered with a surprisingly warm smile, pale blue eyes sparkling with open amusement. he made no effort to get up or to get her off him, laying quiet comfortably on his back with her spread across his chest and belly.

Zamora titled her head to the side, " Lucivar," she tried his name out, though with her accent it came out sounding more like Luk-a-var. " Lucivar", the female tried again, this time with a little more purr to the name, her eyelashes lowering as a sultry smile came across her muzzle, her claws coming out to gently kneed at him.

" Lucivar..." this time the name was a full purr, her accent now adding a exotic, husky, flare to it " I like it, it suites you, strong...male..." she leaned in a little closer to him, " though there is one thing you should consider..." by now her muzzle was almost touching his, " Pirates don't play fair either," the last words were whispered just as she bit him on the nose. Not hard enough to cause any last damage, but hard enough to remind him that she had an impressive set of teeth and that she knew how to use them.

Every time she repeated his name, a low rumble of a purr rolled through the male's chest. His grin widened as she leaned forwards, his tail sliding back and forth over the loose rubble of dust and stone behind them as her claws kneaded his chest fur.

The bite wasn't entirely a surprise, in truth he would have been disappointed if she hadn't tried something. So with a rich rumbling purr he twisted, neatly flipping them over so his body pinned her's to the ground, forelimbs still locked round each other as he semi-crouched to avoid resting his entire weight on her lighter frame. Pale blue eyes gazed down at her, slitted with a kind of dark humor. "I would be disappointed if they did... Sanguine." He rumbled in reply, a broad smirk curling across his pale muzzle.
