Bah the images is causing page stretching so if you wish to see what the CE looks like just click this link.
For months many of you have asked for details on whether or not there will be Collector’s Edition for Skyrim. At the end of a rousing QuakeCon presentation, game director Todd Howard confirmed its existence.
The limited collector’s edition for The Elder Scrolls® V: Skyrim™ will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, and Games for Windows and can be pre-ordered now through participating retailers in North America, Europe and Australia. Like the regular release of the game, the Collector’s Edition will be available on 11.11.11
In addition to including the highly-anticipated game, this premium version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim also includes:
Alduin Statue: Created in conjunction with the IP Factory, this collector’s only statue stands 12” tall and is made of high quality PVC. Modeled from actual in-game 3D digital files, it showcases Alduin, the World Eater. He stands perched atop one the game’s many dragon walls that teach the player the lethal language of dragons.
‘The Art of Skyrim’ Official Art Book: Featuring over 200 pages of striking, full-color illustrations, sketches and models, this stunning 9 3/8” x 12 1/8” coffee table book showcases the characters, creatures, environments, and weaponry of Skyrim. With a foreword by game director Todd Howard and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists, readers will be guided through the game’s iconic visual style.
‘The Making of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ DVD This documentary DVD contains exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage, including interviews with the Bethesda Game Studios team as they take you from concept to creation and provide insights into the story, gameplay, setting, legacy of the Elder Scrolls franchise, and much more.

"Oh My Lord.... I need to preorder ASAP! But god, $200!... Eh, it'll be worth it. I'll just have to save tediously, and maybe beg a little. I think my birthday this year will be awesome." -has to wait until Monday to preorder-
edit; also I'm look most forward to the art book. I think it'll be fantastic.... I'm going to have to find more room for the Alduin statue.

I know this is one expensive CE that's for sure. I can't help but think its the statue that's really driving the price of this though the roof. None the less when I saw this I quickly dashed over to GameStop and pre-ordered it. I'd been waiting until they announced there was going to be a CE before I pre-ordered the game. I'm still hoping they will include The Pocket Guide to the Empire as well in this CE. The art book is going to be amazing can't wait to look and drool all over the concept art and other goodies they pack it with.

I guess that decides whether or not I'll preorder. I'm not going to. Looking over what is in it, while interesting, it's just not worth one hundred and fifty dollars to me. That alone could probably pay half of what the math book I'm going to inevitably need this spring semester will cost.
I think I'll stick with preordering ME3, as long as it's not mega expensive either. I hope not. I do so want that tin...

"Yeah, the statue is probably what's making it this expensive. But, the statue looks well made enough for me to figure that it's worth it. Though, I guess the price isn't that much of a shock to me, a new Xbox/PS3/PC game is generally worth around $100 anyway in Aus.
Example; Skyrim for PC is $88 & $108 for PS3/Xbox at EB Games(but they also seem to be offering the Premium Map now with preorders?) Game is selling for the same price on PC, but the PS3/Xbox are $98. I don't know what GameTraders are selling it for, because they insist on not having their prices on their site which is why I rarely buy from them.
And I figure the retail price of the statue would be about AUD$40-50, the art book would be around AUD$20-30."

"Well, the CE edition has run out here in Aus at most retailers. EBGames decided to come out with their own Exclusive Edition, to please those that missed out.

I wish I could swap the cases. I love steelbook cases. And the notebook looks cool, but I prefer the art book."

"Ahahah. We're just blessed to get awesome stuff sometimes, or well... the winner will be blessed.
I personally got the official CE anyhow. As much as I'd love to get both editions... I may end up getting it for my bf since he might miss out on the CE, but that's something I'll have to discuss with him."
