Ozell trotted gracefully through the tall grass, her tail swishing casually from side to side as she moved. Her blood red eyes scanned the horizon, on the lookout for anything that might be interesting. It had been a long time since she had made any headway in her constant quest for worthy blood. She ruffled her wings and tossed her head in mild irritation. Mid motion something caught her eye and she slowed, altering her position to face the thing that she had spotted. She narrowed her eyes, trying to get a better look from this distance. She picked out a equine shape and the edges of her mouth turned up slightly. Time to play. Ozell thought happily picking up her pace to a loping run. Her blood-vial necklace clinked as she moved swiftly, claws digging into the dirt to propel her faster towards the black, teal, and white mare. Her wings tucked tightly against her body, the sun glinting off her deadly black beak and horn. Ozell would defiantly appear to be charging into strike.

Sarai stood grazing in a wide open meadow that she frequented almost daily. Her teal tipped ears flicked around constantly, she was a guard for her herd and that instinct never went away. She heard the sound of hooves, no was it paws? Either way the beast was coming at some speed, and seemed to be headed in her direction. Sarai turned slightly so that she could see straight on who or what was coming towards her at such a fast speed. She tried to contain her gasp as she saw the female that had just come over the horizon. Paws in front, hooves in back with a strong scent of iron It must be blood Sarai thought to herself noting the dark red staining the beast's front hooves, no paws. As she neared Sarai spotted the beak and horn and immediately pinned her ears back but did not move from her grazing position. Sarai knew that if she kept her position she had the upper hand of knowing the beast was coming without giving away that she knew.

Ozell's keen eyes habitually picked up on the slight signs that she had been noticed. Her smile twisted. This mare was either couragous, or a fool, maybe both. Either way she wanted to know more about the Azrein that chose not to run when being charged by a highly deadly, strange being. She continued to her rush foreword until she was less than ten feet from the mare. Her wings snapped out as she lurched from the ground, releasing a fierce bird like cry. She appeared to be going in for a killing blow. However at the last second she flapped her great, blood tipped wings and flew harmlessly over the mare's head. Angling her wings she turned gracefully and landed nicely in the tall grasses on the other side of the mare. Her expression still rather blood thirsty.

Sarai, usually a kind and gentle mare pinned her ears back immediately. She would not run, that is what this creature wanted. She snorted as the azrein flew over her head and landed. Her eyes flashed with anger as she took a step forwards and went into a defensive position. "Who are you? Why do you greet me so?" she demanded these even though they were phrased as questions. Her nostril's flared, the smell of blood? How horrible! This creature was almost bathed in the blood and the strong stench was terrible. Her ears pinned as far back as they could on her head as she waited for the answer.

Ozell's smile twisted and her eyes narrowed slyly as the mare demanded answers. She could tell how upset she was making this mare, who seemed to have something against her bloody markings. Well most of it was just stains now, but she still carried a potent blood scent. Not that she even noticed it as more than a faint hint, as she was so used to being surrounded by the smell of blood. She took a single, decisive step towards the female, folding her wings back into place. "Me? Why I'm Ozell." She replied smoothly taking another step, her claws digging into the earth. "What fun is there is greeting you if I can't enjoy a reaction?" She asked, not at all intimidated by the fierce demanding mare.

Sarai snorted indignantly obviously disliking the mare from the beginning. "Fun? Yes that was great fun" she said sarcastically "I would hope that you enjoyed yourself because I will not stand for any such nonsense" The mare then erected herself properly and gave a bow to the mare "I am Sarai, though I can not say it is a pleasure I am pleased to have met you" So I can keep an eye out for you later she thought to herself. It had been a while since she had been greeted so poorly and it did upset her. Why did other azrein treat their own kind so? Even if she did have paws and wings, Sarai did not mind much though the blood was almost enough to put her off. "I have not seen you around Ozell, you must not be from around these parts" she said, assuming that this azrein was aligned to the evil side and thus almost never in this part of the island.
