Sometimes Lucian really, truly wondered about his tribe. And then he didn't anymore. He didn't really see any reason why he needed to wonder about them or even be concerned about them; they were exceptionally good at taking care of themselves. He flicked his eyes up towards the heavens and wondered absently if Nefas watched his every move.

With that new train of thought fresh in his head, he started his morning patrol around Saligia's lands, yawning as he slowly woke himself up.

Lucian blinked as Cleopatra approached and drew her tail across him; he cocked his head to the side and took in the sight of the grey and rainbow-accented vixen. "Good morning, Cleopatra." He nodded his head in response to her greeting and blinked as she asked if he wanted company.

"Ah, yes.." He murmured, tilting his head, aware as the floating crown followed that motion. "I would enjoy some company... Perhaps we can go on a small hunt while we're out?" It was entirely optional -- well, the offer for Cleopatra to come; either way, he was heading out to get some prey, but Cleopatra could come back if she wished instead of coming with him.

"You suppose, mm?" He murmured lowly in his throat, amused at her. "Good, I'm glad to have the help. Ah. Whatever small game we come across. We aren't straining ourselves, just killing time. So if you see anything you want to go after, just let me know."

Really, Lucian was a bit more excited than he was letting on to have Cleopatra with him; walking was so boring anyway but he felt as though it was his duty, as tribe leader, to do it and check the perimeter at least in the morning, so having a pretty vixen to look at the same time wasn't a downside at all.

"How's the tribe been treating you?" He started, as a bit of small talk.

"I don't know about you, but I think it's far too early to be going after something bigger than both of us combined," he murmured, stretching for a second before continuing, laughing quietly. He too kept his eyes on the ground, looking for something small enough for him to go after. His eyes flicked to the sky for some reason, but nothing other than slightly grey clouds were present; the air seemed damp, but not too much so.

"Ah, being an elder." He rolled his eyes slightly. "Easier and harder than I thought. I think I put more stress on myself than any of you guys do." He snorted quietly. "I'm glad that it's doing alright for you." He added, tilting his head towards her.

This member had always been.. special? Strange?... to him. He wasn't sure of the word here.. But if he could have picked anyone to come with him, it likely would've been her.

Lucian flicked her ears over as Cleopatra brought up his half brother, and tilted his head. Briefly, he wondered if she'd done it on purpose before dismissing it as just a simple question since she knew the near by Sanctimonia tribe. "Ah, I suppose not. Though it'd be much simpler if I didn't expect so many things for myself that you guys don't." He laughed softly. "Sometimes I think I try too hard to be perfect." He then snorted as he kept walking, then blinked in surprise when the bird took off.

He laughed when she said it would've been shitty and shrugged lightly. "Perhaps.. But saying that we somehow knew it was bad and let it go sounds much nicer than failing.. If anyone asks, that's what happened." He blinked as he saw a hare and went to attention. "Hmm." He breathed quietly, bounding over it, barely missing it. "********!" He snarled quietly as he trotted back, flicking his tail angrily. "That one was bad too." He blinked evenly.

"Yeah, I know." He sighed, being counseled easily by the fox walking with of him. "God, I hope not." He snorted. "That'd be painful, Galahad being perfect, more than he already decided to be." He shook his head and looked around, deciding not to go bounding off like an idiot next time; for some reason, he just didn't find making a complete and utter fool of himself attractive in any way, shape, or form.

"Thanks," he muttered as she backed him up before sighing loudly. "Well, this is going worse than expected." He added, under his breath. "Shall we go deeper, see what we can find?" He shook his nose toward some caves surrounded by trees. It sounded like a better idea than this, anyway...

Lucian, for his own failure, didn't even think of a bear - instead, he just led towards the caves, stretching slowly. "Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It's depressing to hunt and not catch anything." He sighed heavily as he walked and shook his head out again.

"Hopefully everything is in the cave so that we can carry our food back and spend the entire day as kings - or queen, in your case, I suppose - more than I already do, anyway." He snorted. "Though I suppose you think you should be treated as a queen without even doing that much, don't you?" It wasn't rude or trying to make her feel bad about herself (though he didn't know if that was possible); it was just a statement, perhaps even with a hint of approval.

"I know I'm hard on myself, I just think it's a bit depressing to come out here and not get anything. I know they can hunt for themselves but I should still do something for him." He snorted and flicked his tail toward her as they walked. "I want to catch anything and then I'll be happy." He laughed as they walked, unaware of her thoughts of children; Lucian wasn't sure he could even comprehend the idea of him having kids!

"Just a little." He snorted quietly at her smile. "Yeah, you're quite good at looking pretty, even when you're not just sitting there." It was said as flippantly as before; she was pretty, she knew it, and Lucian saw no harm in stating so; it wasn't like he'd inflate her ego. He moved faster than her, though only slightly, so he could keep a small lead. Oh, the things he'd do for his ego...
