The 'official' giveaways, contests and free-for-all over, what did everyone think?

What worked well?
What didn't work well?
What would you like to see for future events?
Any other feedback?

Please feel free to text wall away with critique, praise or downright criticisms. Suggestions too! I'm entirely open to feedback, since I try to tailor everything towards optimal player enjoyment (and I'm well aware that my ideas sometimes just go off to left field).

I'd like to run another event in the near future, so it'd be a glad thing to have some ideas of how the community felt about this one.

Overall I enjoyed it. I liked that is was of a slower pace than other meta type events I've seen run in other shops, because I think there wasn't as much pressure to do everything right away.

One thing I did think, was that it might have gotten a lot more interest, at least from members outside of the community, is if the event thread was posted in the main B/C forum. I think. XD;

I'll try to think on it more and see if I can't come up with anything else. :3

Definitely was very fun though. heart

What worked well?
Most things! The setting was really nice and cheerful, and there were lots of opportunities to win and receive things, new gods and mortals and flooxes and aoidei. Can always use more aoidei! And gods. Those are important too.

What didn't work well?
The nomination thing for the winged flooxes. I know this is going to sound really gripey and selfish, especially since it is just flooxes, but it was frustrating that no one bothered to be nice or at least not apathetic and nominate someone. Something where finished RPs could be submitted by their makers, or even just automatically be considered, and then judged would be more fair.

What would you like to see for future events?
Anything similar, really :3. I think overall it was excellently done and well-run.

Any other feedback?

What worked well?
I really liked how one had to invest oneself into the event and the more they did so, the more opportunities were unlocked. It rewarded effort fairly and encouraged creativity and roleplay.

What didn't work well?
I think the only thing I believe could have worked better is the quest granted 'judging' option. Since polls are open to everyone and cannot be easily tailored to a specific population, I think PM'd ballots may be a better option as it would remove the chance for non-intended populations to vote.

What would you like to see for future events?
I'd love to see more mortal CYOs - that was loads of fun. I also very much like the ticket mechanics. I'd actually like to see opportunities to involve mortals most, really, as it increases the character base and give a chance to people who don't own a stone to have a place to start from in a shop that I found extremely daunting when I first joined. A little direction was really helpful and I think mortals would be a great way for people become active members and test the waters as it were.

Any other feedback?
Thank-you for an event, I really enjoyed! It was the right length and full of all sorts of opportunities for all sorts of play styles. Fantastic. Thank-you!~

For certain I think in another event I'll need to have on board a volunteer manager who helps cert and keep everything up-to-date. I wasn't able to keep everything current often enough with classes and work.

Does anyone have any thoughts regarding having such a volunteer? Would you trust someone to be unbiased when making updates? If there were such a volunteer, who isn't part of shop staff, would you want them disallowed from entering contests?

What worked well?
Nearly everything worked well. I liked the way everything was paced to the way the events were done. There were lots of chances for winning too and the variety was very different. It was very interesting to see what everyone did on their cyo and there was something to look for almost every day. I think the cyo mortals are a great way to get people involved when they don't have a stone yet.

What didn't work well?
I think there would have been more activity in the B/C forum. More people would have seen it. But it was nice to have the event in the guild though because you always knew where everything was without searching for it. More activity though means more to do for the people running it.

What would you like to see for future events?
Something similar. I did like the staggered events. I thought that worked very well to keep interest going. And I liked the tickets also.

Any other feedback?
Thank you, Ivy and Syrie for making this really fun. heart It was well put together and shows the hard work done. Vesale's menagerie was adorable and fun. Something similar would be fun for next time.

As for having someone help out, I remember how crazy the lotuses were trying to keep track of it all. I'd say get someone to help update, but maybe put them to only updating certain things so that they can join in other portions if there is a need to disallow them from the events they take care of. That way no one misses out entirely.

What worked well?
I really enjoyed everything. Everything oozed with creativity, which is awesome. It encouraged everyone to get involved and work toward a common goal. The pace of the event was nice too, it gave folks a chance to catch up on what they've missed and get some RP interaction in. In particular I enjoyed the rainbow creation, it let us be a bit silly and make all sorts of things. (Also loved Vesale's floox plushies.)

What didn't work well?
- I agree with Skie on the ballot thing. While the poll option is nice, the guild is public so anyone can vote so PMs might've worked better if you just wanted to keep it owners.
- I am also sad no one was nominated for the winged floox. Hopefully it will find a home at some point and not be terribly elusive.

What would you like to see for future events?
- More metaplot bits, because they are always fantastic. They keep us deeply involved in the shop since we help determine the outcome.
- If possible creative games like the rainbow creation and more CYO mortals.
- More dragging in of lurkers, always fun to have more people to enjoy this wonderful game with.

Volunteer Manager:
Personally I wouldn't mind them participating in the games too, everyone here is trustworthy. After all we're all friends here right? (To me every last one of you is a friend. <3) Things like the floox rolling and stuff would definitely be safe since its based on a randomizer.

Any other feedback?
I'm just really glad I didn't miss this event like I missed the end of the Gehenna arc.

One last thing: do you have a large copy of that Harmy art in your sig? I'd really like to make a wallpaper of it, if you would allow me to. It would just be for personal use and sharing among Edel folks if they so wished.

What worked well?
I think most of it worked very well! It was enjoyable on lots of levels. I loved how it challenged me to stretch my creativity, both art-wise as well as writing-wise.

What didn't work well?
It would have been nice to be able to nominate a thread I was in the for the winged floox, even if I had to be exempted from the prize to do so. Several others have made other suggestions as well, all of which seem like possible options.

What would you like to see for future events?
DEFINITELY. I'd so love having fun at another such event! It was fun and joyful (I'm a sucker for happiness instead of doom, heh) and was a nice thing for my characters to enjoy as well.

Any other feedback?
I'd love to see a similar event with FEMALE cyo mortal lines, hehe... just to balance the awesome goodness of all the characters that have appeared now!

As to a volunteer manager, I definitely trust any of the familiar faces in Edel to handle this fairly. The Edel family is... family!

Thank you so much Ivy and Syrie for running it, Meep for the Errais prizes, and Ves for his unofficial game, which was an awesome chance for further rp. It all was soooo much fun.

I'm with everyone else a volunteer manager would be fine with me :3. Obviously they wouldn't be able to enter something if they were meant to help judge it, but all it takes is finding someone who's not going to enter whichever thing.

Meta events. heart Gehenna one was scary because of 'do this or shop goes,' but anything without such completely dire stakes is good - do need some drama, after all. And maybe more such tidbits will draw more people back in? It saddens me that there has been some difting away.

I have a sorta big version? 800x519 is the largest of the official save, though I have an earlier iterative save that is 2640x1713 that could try to remake the missing parts.

Since the banner was the primary piece of art I made for the event (spent more time on making the pets/gems/aoide/coding/etc) I did prepare a process snapshot in case anyone was a particular fan of my work and wanted to see such (it started out as a very messy watercolour.) But take a look at the process and tell me which stage you'd like to have larger format and I'll post it up for you to make a wall paper as you please with.

(just link it to the thread in case anyone else wants an edel wallpaper too, lol)

What worked well?
Loved the variety of events. It meant that everyone could get involved. I'm hella busy at the moment but I got to give people some mortals and put my quest up that has been gathering dust.
I snooped around the other events and they all seemed fun and well run. There was no griping or bad feeling at all which I do love.
After gehenna it was great to have something lighthearted.
Liked the mix of prizes too. Gods, flooxes, mortals aoide etc. You had everything covered. Plus the mix of events for owners and newbies/lurkers alike.

What didn't work well?
I agree that we could have somehow drummed up more outside interest.
I don't think the problem with the ballot was viability as Ivy did ask people to PM so votes could be checked with numbers.
I think the problem was with there being only about half the community active. It was a very tight vote. Though I don't think there was a better way to do it. ^^

On the floox nominating. I completely missed that rule. Sorry everyone. I would have read them through otherwise. Maybe that could have been clearer? A list of the eligible RPs posted in the thread to remind people.

What would you like to see for future events?
Much of the same. I though it was all really good. Things that didn't work so well were minor and didn't detract from the event.

Any other feedback?
Loved it! Good one Ivy and Syrie. I only wish I could have had more free time to truly get stuck in.

I got super busy with work and other things so I didn't participate anywhere near as much as I'd have like to, woe. So I don't have a whole lot of feedback, other than do love events and shop being more active. <3 It's good to have more events and meta without it being almighty stressful.
