Honestly, Greg, I think you should take a job writing eulogies. That was, uh, rather melodramatic.
We need a solution to this inactivity problem. What I suggest is that we revamp the whole concept of the guild... clarify some things in the background history, etc. Perhaps we should change the entire setting and background of the guild. That is my suggestion, at least.

Changing the whole guild into something differant, I could do. We could change it into a work of popular fiction
Examples
Harry Potter Guild
Star Wars Guild
Super Hero Guild
e.t.c

Hm... with all due respect, I don't think that would be a good idea. While I'm a fan of Harry Potter, there are quite a lot of Harry Potter RP guilds... and from my experience, Harry Potter RP doesn't work out that well due to the lack of locations and clarification on a number of things. (The novels hardly talk about daily, normal life in Hogwarts. Not to mention, Hogwarts RP wouldn't be very appetizing due to it being a school... xp )
I suggest that we base the guild on military and warfare, like it currently is. Frankly, I would like the whole "magic vs. science" thing to be discarded altogether.
Maybe... we could do something like a WWII-style RP guild, where we role-play as members of a resistance movement (i.e. Polish resistance, French resistance, etc.) fighting against foreign invaders (i.e. Nazis or something else)? Except for that this guild would be less dark in nature, and we would remove all references to real-world Nazis to make it less gloomy.

The idea of keeping it a war guild is what i like....but we can't exactly just drop the whole magic/machine thing. there's gotta be a force that eliminates the armies, or makes their weapons & magic usless so that they must resort to returning to the weaponry of their past.

I think you misunderstood me, Greg. What I mean is, I want to have a restart. Or a complete revamp of the guild. I suggest that we simply forget about the whole Bluecoat/Redcoat thing and develop a new grand story for the guild.
With all due respect, Bluecoat/Redcoat thing doesn't make sense, considering we have not clarified on their political ideologies and their ethnic background. After all, why would they be fighting if they don't have political differences? Also, in the real world, we don't call entire peoples Bluecoats or Redcoats. The "redcoats" of the American Revolution were British soldiers (a.k.a. "His Majesty's troops") that came from Great Britain.
What I suggest is that we wipe it all out and begin a story based on the Gaia map. We would use Barton, Durem, Aekea, Gaia Towns, etc. as settings for our RPs. The Gaia World is an entire world designed ready for our use - why not use it for RP?
Again, this is only a suggestion. I do apologize if I sound mean.

I like the idea....but what exactly would we do in means of reasons for war? I mean, should we have a specified time-period? Like in gaia's current state, it's a peaceful world. Should we look to the past as a measure of technology and tools? Or maybe the future where the sorts of things the red army started to create might be possible?

Yeah so based upon what you guys said, This is what I think you guys are saying.
Modern Day Gaia, using it as the setting, we have an invading army and gaia is being attacked and we can either role plays invaders or the resistance. Would we be using our Avatars as our charricters, im confused here.
Thats what I got out of it at least. What I thought it was at the beginning was WWII like in real life but different factions and less dark. SO could someone please clarify on what we are doing?

at this point, all it is is an idea. I like your idea of using our avatars. Also, should it be an army from another place on the panet? I mean, we only know about the map that gaia gave us. What's to say that it isn't the entire planet (which is very unlikely)? idk. Maybe the governement of gaia trys to control everybody's actions (1984 anybody?) and there is a resistance.

I think we should make it an internal conflict rather than "foreign aliens invading Gaia" or something. Although I want to make it less gloomy, I still want to emphasize on humanity and show that neither side is inherently evil. Having some foreign empire invade Gaia would distract us from that.
Yeah, using our avatars would be cool brilliant, but I think it ought to be optional in case some people hate their avatars.
I think this should take place in the near future, so that while the RP doesn't get too real (as in modern), the RP won't get too futuristic.
Regarding the RP story... How about the Government of Gaia becomes more centralized (right now, it seems like Gaia is simply a loose coalition of city-states) and Gaia becomes something like a military government/dictatorship? Gaia is ruled by a ruthless Prime Minister/President who wants to establish his personal rule over Gaia.
The Prime Minister's troops quickly take over all of Gaia and brutally squashes dissenters. The resistance movement is driven underground and is forced to operate secretly.
The guild RP story begins a few years after the Prime Minister takes power. The main setting is a small, peaceful town in the Gaia Towns, where the resistance movement is hiding and planning a rebellion to overthrow the Prime Minister....

Yay, I got a good Idea!
How about we have the main city on gaia, the log in page picture a other optional place to rp, though your character just cant do it alone, he/she has to have help and be strong, for the guards do search's for resistance members 24/7. ???
Prime Minister sounds more likely for dictatorship, president get reelected.

So we wanna have people RP as the resistance & the governement's followers? IT sounds good. But I don't think anybody should really RP as the dictator..chances are, he'll be outta the picture asap. And we could always just re-invent the story each time the governement is overthrown. Who's to say that the resistance takes over, and becomes as bad, if not worse as the orignial governement. It would be a never ending cycle.

Not so fast. The Prime Minister's hold on Gaia is very strong; he is many troops and weaponry at his disposal. It would take months - perhaps years - to overthrow him, especially since the Resistance movement has been driven underground and is only recently recovering from its defeat.
What I mean is that we shouldn't RP things too quickly. Otherwise, the fun will be short-lived and we'll be forced to do a restart again. You need patience... we will make sure that the RP goes neither too slowly nor too quickly, so that we can celebrate each triumph and mourn each disaster, and make sure the RP fun lasts as long as possible.
Also, Pwnage Hatter, I don't understand your post. Can you please rephrase that?

Also, another thing: we have to make this appealing to role-players of both sexes. The guns and the fighting would likely attract guys, but we need a bit of other stuff, like maybe romance and drama, so that the ladies can enjoy this guild as well.
