A brown coated stallion wandered about the plains, looking for a drink of water. It was rather warm today for one reason or another. Though not unbearably so. Abdul sniffed at the air before trotting off towards a shaded region. He thought for a moment as he looked around the still water-less landscape. The next river was most likely a few miles back from the direction he had come from. Abdul lowered down next to a tree and began to dig his hooves into the earth around the roots.

Daria was not even two trees away, so absorbed in what she was doing that she didn't notice the male approaching close to her. Daria's 'knees' were balanced on the tree trunk as her neck craned up, her lips pulled over her teeth and she struggled to grab an apple from the lower limbs of the tree, which were still high up. A small snort escaped her nose as she finally bit into the apple and pulled it off the limb, backing off the tree and letting all four hooves hit the ground. She gave a delighted squeal as she ravenously ate the juicy fruit.

Abdul heard a sound that resembled a delighted bird that had just accomplished its task of doing whatever it is that birds to when completing tasks. Though there was a subtle whinny inside of it. Quite harmonious even with the two mixed species. He looked up and noticed a winged horse with light blue patterns swirled across itself. Delighted to be in presence of another Azrein, he walked towards the beautiful creature. "Greetings." Abdul pipped. "My name is Abdul." He gave a quaint bow as he introduced himself, the best a horse could.

Startled, Daria spun around and faced the mud colored male. It took her a few moments to collect herself her thoughts and everything else. She flexed her wings and swished her tails as she gave the male a small smile. "My name is Daria. Its a pleasure to meet you, Abdul.." She responded back.

Abdul stood back up and walked a bit closer to the tree she had taken the apple from. He looked back at his hole in progress. He would finish it eventually. Or give up and refill it the best he could. Either way it was going to be worked on. After he had escaped his thoughts, the brown horse looked back towards the winged mare. "I apologize for startling you. I simply wished to introduce myself...I couldn't help but to venerate your wings as well." Abdul scanned the mare before stopping on her wings. It was an unusual sight. Though many things on this island were unusual.

Daria studied the sandy colored male, flexing her wings as she did so. She didn't really catch what he was saying, or even notice what he said until the word she didn't know popped up before 'wings'. A small blush coated her cheeks as she averted her eyes for a moment, to regain her composure. "I'm sorry.. What did you say?" She asked.

Abdul tilted his head as she moved her wings. He was curious as to how the extra appendages felt, or if they were difficult to concentrate on moving. He supposed that it was easy for her, and only second nature, being that she was born with them after all. "Your wings. I was wondering about them. They're quite beautiful. Are they hard to use?" He moved his head to the side so he could study them more closely. As he stared he got caught in the patterns on her coat. Abdul's eyes followed the swirls of blue along her back.

Daria blushed under the stallion's scrutiny as he studied her swirls and patterns. "Well.. uhm.. not really..." Daria answered as she looked over her wings, nipping at one and shifting it back into place. "Its like...using my hooves.. or blinking my eyes or such.. If you were born with wings I'm sure it'd be the same for you." She answered after a moment as she tucked her wings almost flat onto her back. No one had ever really asked about her wings, or scrutinized her like that before.

Abdul distracted himself with other things so that he would refrain from staring so rudely. His curiosity for information and observance had gotten the best of him once more. "I suppose...forgive my rudeness. I'm inquisitive in nature is all." He smiled and looked up at the bearing tree, offering its succulent fruits to any who would dare to pluck them. "Do you like apples Daria?"

Daria blinked. Boy this stallion had a big vocabulary. "Excuse me for my.. lack of education but what does inquisitive mean?" The winged mare asked as she followed his gaze to the tree. At the sight of the round, red, succulent fruit, her mouth began watering as it normaly did when she thought of the juice exploding in her mouth in a wonder of flavor. "Oh yes. I love apples!" Daria grinned, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she reared up on her back legs to try and reach one of the lower hanging fruit.

Abdul walked up close to the tree and studied it for a bit. He was looking for a weak point to perform his trick he had learned. Humans had many curious and inventive ways to do things with only two hands. But for a horse it was even more spectacular seeing as they, or at least he, could only grab things using his teeth. "Inquisitive simply means curious. Instead of curiosity however, an inquisitive person will more likely take action to discover and learn." Abdul watched as Daria tried to reach another apple. "Would you like to see something?" He asked her with a tone that suggested he was going to regardless of her answer.

Daria listened to Abdul explain his vocabulary word, and mentally added it to her list of must know words. She gave a small smile when she understood what he was saying. "Oh well thank you then." She said with a small chuckle. When he asked if she wanted to see something her head cocked in interest. Perhaps she was inquisitive as well? She smiled mentally at the use of a new word.
"Sure." She agreed enthusiastically.

Abdul walked around the tree for a bit, deciding the best way to approach it. He noticed a very small line running from one of the larger roots to the top of the tree and chose that as a good point to display his trick. "Stand back...I'm uncertain of its success.." He looked around and found a rock about the size of a soccer ball and nudged it up against the root. Standing with his rear facing the trunk, Abdul reared up and kicked the rock with his hind legs, causing many apples to fall from the tree. He turned to Daria and smiled. "There. Now you no longer have need to reach for them."

Daria watched Abdul curiously as he prepared himself and the tree for his 'trick'. She gave a small smile and a shake of her mane when apples fell out of the tree. Leaning down, she rolled one over with her nose, revealing the now bruised portion of the apple. "Yeah but by doing that, you bruise the apple, ruining the sweet taste." She teased light-heartedly. "Its still a nice trick though. But I'll just reach for them." She bopped his shoulder with her nose in a friendly manner.
