The rain outside was coming down fairly steadily and Mitsu had been cooped up for most of the day. Staring out the window in her room the lycan began to wonder what everyone else was up to. The thought of calling crossed her mind but the appeal of leaving her room was much greater even if it involved getting a little wet.
Slipping on her shoes and her mask, Mitsu grabbed her umbrella and made her way to the door. She was about to exit when she felt something brush up against her leg. Looking down she saw Milo curling around her feet. "You want to come with me?" If she visited Xiu Milo and Arashi could play again.
Picking up the fox, Milo immediately went to Mitsu's shoulders and curled around her neck to lazily sit in place for the time being. Now with her pet Mitsu left the monster dorms and headed toward the demon dorms to see if either Xiu or Lizzy were there. Even if they weren't it got her out of her room for a little while so there was no regret in walking.

It figured that the day she decided to go into town was the day it rained.
Watching out the window for a short time, the feline let out an exasperated sigh before pulling the red and black umbrella out of her closet.
The cats were curled up under her large bed, save Felix of course, so it seemed her leave would go unnoticed. "Coming?" She asked the hazcat nonchalantly, so he wouldn't feel obligated. It was, after all, shitty weather to be following her around in.
Though, just as she expected, the cat hopped onto her shoulder. Ready to follow her around like a lost puppy. "Suit yourself then."
Opening the door to the outside world, Riyo peered down each side of the hallway to make sure Deacon wasn't out and about...
But managed to spot someone else instead. Well if it wasn't Mitsu. Where was her shadow today?
No matter... The feline had business to attend to. Shutting the door behind with umbrella in hand, the ghoul walked towards the exit quietly.

As Mitsu entered the demon dorm she quickly closed her umbrella and shook it outside the door to rid it of most of the water. Milo, having gotten a few drops of moisture on his face, pawed at his nose to get rid of it.
"Ready to go see Xiu?" The canine asked as she started down the hallway. What Mitsu didn't expect to see was a familiar glimpse of blonde hair coming down the hall. As she focused in a little more she recognized the finely dressed feline who had just recently enrolled.
Nervous on her own the lycan simply raised her hand in greeting but it seemed the ghoul was on a mission. She wondered what it was she was up to on a day like this. "H...hi Riyo. G-going shopping?" It was a possibility.

"... Sort of." Riyo replied quietly, pausing to glance over her shoulder towards the lycan. "I have to go into town for business.." Though it was obvious whatever business the ghoul had, she didn't want. She seemed... Tense.
Continuing her steps, the feline paused at the door to open her large umbrella, which made a loud "woosh" sound as it spread out. Wasn't opening an umbrella inside bad luck?

"Sort of?" Mitsu couldn't help but feel the feline was apprehensive about something. Curious the lycan turned back around and followed behind Riyo like a baby velociduckling. "Do you want some company?"
It would still get her out of her room and Mitsu didn't know the feline too well yet. It was an attempt to reach out and be more social which Mitsu was slowly learning to do. Most times it was hard especially when Shun wasn't around but she had already met Riyo before thankfully.

Frowning at Mitsu's request, Riyo opened her mouth to tell her no... But began to reconsider.
"If you're that keen on walking out in the rain... I suppose." As close to a yes as she got. Though... It was nice to have somebody going with her on one of these outings. Which was made even better by the fact that Shun wasn't in the picture.
"Be warned though... This isn't really a leisure trip." It was the only warning Mitsu would get as the feline flung the door to the demon dorms open, offering the first steps out to her lycan companion. Not that she'd let her step out in the rain. Riyo's large red and black umbrella was already in position to cover the ghoul.

There was the sudden feeling like Riyo was about to say no. It almost made Mitsu feel nervous but suddenly...the ghoul had agreed. Sort of. With a nod Mitsu followed behind the feline toward the door taking in her words of warning. Not a leisure trip? So, maybe she had to pick up a few things? Maybe Mitsu could help carry a few things back?
"That's okay," Mitsu said stepping out after Riyo, looking up at the large red and black umbrella that shielded her from the downpour. Unsure if the ghoul would want to remain close, Mitsu held her umbrella out to the side and opened it up as well, taking a step to the side to get under it without being in the way of Riyo. Her umbrella wasn't nearly as big. It was more of a kiddie umbrella which seemed to suit Mitsu more than anything.
Milo was fairly quite for now, the rain apparently making him sleepy. Shifting slightly in his place around Mitsu's neck, his head laid down on his paws.

Felix had also mellowed out considerably. His head and front paws draped over the front of Riyo's shoulder, he let out a pathetic 'meow' before closing his eyes to take a cat nap. How did cat's manage to sleep in the most uncomfortable positions?
When Riyo stepped out the door behind the ghoul, she started a slow, even pace. Obviously the feline was in no rush to get where she was going.
"So what brings you out on a rainy day like this?" She asked while staring at Mitsu's tiny umbrella. Small talk was necessary for a long trip with two people, so why not start it early? "Most would prefer to stay in their rooms.." Hell, she would've preferred to stay in bed. It made her a little jealous of her cat companion, considering he didn't have to lift a paw if he didn't want to...

The ears on the top of Mitsu's head gave a bit of a twitch at Riyo's question. "I...I was tired of being in my room." Mitsu had become rather restless. Having spent a large portion on her life inside the lycan had finally gotten a taste of a little bit of freedom here at Amityville and she no longer wished to be cooped up.
"I don't mind the rain so much." She said thoughtfully, a hand reaching out from the safety of her umbrella to catch a few drops of rain. "Do you not like it?" She asked quietly.

Tried being in her room? "Is it not that comfortable in your room?" Riyo had never experienced that problem. In fact, her room felt more like a sanctuary than anything.
"I don't enjoy being out in it, for certain." The feline started, tilting her umbrella upwards so she could see the sky. Even as a kid, she didn't dare go outside when the elements were busy doing their dirty work. "I did enjoy watching it, though. I used to think it was a clean start to the next day. As if the water had washed the buildup of bad things out of life and we could start fresh again." Before she realized that there were some things the water could never wash away.
"Such were the thoughts of a dream-filled child, though. I've realized it's just precipitation and nothing more."

Mitsu frowned a bit behind her mask. "It's umm....sorta empty." So she really didn't have much to do beyond homework, play her keyboard, and read. Not that she didn't enjoy doing all those things but being in her room really brought her little comfort. She really needed to work on saving up money to buy a few things.
The thought that Riyo shared had Mitsu's ears perking with interest. "It's a nice thought though." Mitsu said lightly. "T..there's no reason you still can't think that it can." Always trying to be the optimist. Trying anyway. "While some things can't start over like new perhaps others can."

Riyo had kinda figured the ghoul would say something like that.
"Mitsu..." She started, sounding like a mother trying to calm their child down after an adventurous bedtime story. "I grew up a long time ago. Sacrificed my childhood for the sake of my sanity. I can't believe in such things anymore..."
Couldn't? Or didn't want to? "It hurts too much when the world points out the contrary. Which is why I take no solace in concepts like love or everlasting friendships." Sometimes she wanted to. Wanted to imagine what such feelings and experiences were like... And there had been times when she caved in. Let herself picture a beautiful scene where she was happy. Without a care in the world.
It just made the reality of her situation that much worse. "Of course, there's no reason why you can't think such things." Since Shun wasn't here, the feline figured she'd go ahead and say it.

Mitsu wasn't sure what to make of the tone Riyo was using when she said her name. Like she wanted her to snap out of dream land and come back to reality.
There was a touch of familiarity in Riyo's words though. Mitsu knew the world could be cruel...home life could be cruel, but wasn't that all the more reason to enjoy what you had? "Things can be bad sometimes," Really bad, "But that doesn't mean we can't for a moment enjoy something like company or friends." Kind of like what they were doing now. "Even if they're not around forever you can enjoy them while they're there." Something in Mitsu's tone left one to wonder if she expected this life she currently had to just disappear. Like one day she would wake up and her friends wouldn't be there.
As far as believing it on her own, Mitsu probably would. It was a nice thought to think about that tomorrow would be a new day that perhaps she could start over.

"You make relationships sound like candy." Riyo pointed out nonchalantly. "Enjoy it while it's there... But you know, you miss it when it's gone. It's hard to be satisfied with the memory of something sweet." And The feline didn't even care for sweets... "If you don't know what it tastes like, you can't miss it." Only crave it..
It was strange, though... Mitsu's words held conviction. Almost as if the ghoul had been somewhere similar.
Riyo didn't really understand how she could've been. The shy lycan seemed so innocent. How could the two of them have ended up so different?
Looked like town was a short distance away from where they were... And the rain was getting worse.

"L...like candy?" Mitsu supposed it was true now that she thought about it but..."Memories can be painful at times but I would rather have them than nothing at all." Memories were all she had of her brother at this point and it was true, she missed him a lot but there wasn't much she could do about it. Something about it was bittersweet in a way.
The further they walked it seemed the rain began to pour all the more. It made viewing the town up ahead a little difficult. "So where are we headed to?" Mitsu asked curiously in an attempt to change the conversation. The feline had made her view on the matter pretty clear and Mitsu wasn't out to change her mind, though she would have liked to convince her that having friends wasn't a bad thing. Mitsu had discovered they were wonderful to have.
