8-4-2011 Do ya dig it?

Quote:
Mission to get fossil Pokemon.

Hundreds of feet under the Earth's surface lies a world that existed before ours. Plants, Pokemon, things that existed before our time lie burried deep down, just waiting to be unearthed. Archeologist have found many things in their exploits to learn more and more about this other world that sleeps under there. What an interesting job they must have, of course it isn't easy work but still itneresting all the same.

Wouldn't you like to be an archeologist for a day? Well now is your chance! In the three regions, Kanto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, the archeologist there are accepting help. Who are they? (I bet you are wanting to ask.) Well, Brock, Brandon, and Roark, respectively. Each region has their own unique things to find, such as Pokemon fossils of extinct Pokemon. Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and find one? And maybe your archeoligist will let you keep it? I hear there are places in those regions where they can actually revive fossil Pokemon! Isn't that cool?

But beware, it might have been seven years since Snagem has delt with any of those small evil teams but like always, there will be someone stupid enough to give birth to one. A rather new evil team is out there causing trouble, one that resembles a previous enemy of ours. They are called Team Eolith, just like the late Team Sandstorm they are crazy about fossils, though not just fossils. Team Eolith unlike Team Sandstorm is crazy about any type of artifact dug up. They seem to be searching for some specific but no one is sure yet. Their region of operations is somewhere in the region of Johto but they expand out from there to the other regions from time to time. Be wary of them, unlike Team Sandstorm they are a bit smarter and stronger. They manly use "Earth" based Pokemon, such as Ground, Rock, and Steel types, and our course they love ancient Pokemon. They may try to mess with you on your dig. So good luck.

Objective
---Travel to Kanto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh and request to join one of the archeologists mentioned on their daily dig. Send Team Eolith packing if they come forth.

Opposition
---Team Eolith, the chances are great they will mess with you and maybe even steal your "treasure" they mainly move in groups of three lower ranked peons and carry one to three Pokemon. (Based on the highest evo you can use or lower, but no lower than second stage if you can use third evos.)

Pokemon
---If you find a Pokemon out there in the wild, and you think you might want it, go for it. Let it be allowed for your rank of course. But if you want to revive a fossil you might find then no wild capture. This mission is to help you get fossil Pokemon of course.

Rewards
---A fossil of course, if you find one. If you do find one you maybe revive it in the mission. Other than that the rewards vary.

Embry received an e-mail from Brandon from the Hoenn Battle Frontier about coming to Lavaridge and helping out with a fossil excavation. Embry thought a moment before replying:

Sure thing Brandon. Its been a bit slow around here anyway with everyone running around doing things that I'm not quite experienced enough for. I'll be sure to get on the first Claydol teleport over there. See you soon.

Embry packed somethings in his bag between some brushes, and small tools to help if anything happens, and also some water because every time you do hard manual labor you get thirsty. He double checked his equipment and gear and then walked over to Claydol in the base lobby and asked for the pokemon to teleport him. The pokemon started glowing and then he disappeared and reappeared in Lavaridge in the Hoenn region with a bit of a dizzy feeling. He shook it off and then walked into the pokemon center to find Brandon.

"Embry! Good to see you! Its been awhile since I've seen you, last time you were so little! Are you still tinkering with your little technical do-dads?" Brandon said seeing Embry walk in and walked over to pat (more like slam) Embry on the back.

"I'm doing just fine Brandon. And yes, it has been awhile. As for my 'technical do-dads' I'm still working as much as I can with them." Embry replied to Brandon. It had been awhile indeed, but Embry didn't really like sitting around all the time after work at the pokemon center listening to Brandon. After a hard day at the computer store just going over to the pokemon center and relaxing with all the pokemon there was fun. And then out of nowhere Brandon came in and made his presence known. Was it annoying? Yes, a bit, but Embry didn't let that get in the way of meeting a new friend which he was glad to have met. "So where are we headed Brandon?"

Brandon laughed a bit and then started talking again. "Ah, always to the point aren't you? Well, we're going into the desert into this cave that has just been dug out a few weeks ago by a couple of rampaging Aggron. We're looking for anything that looks nice, mostly fossils though."

Embry smirked and shook his head. "Got it. Well, lets get going then Brandon, we have alot of work to do." Embry said and turned to leave before having a bag of pickaxes and shovels thrown to him by Brandon.

~~~
The two set off and it was just like old times. Brandon talking of all his new Challengers and latest finds while Embry just shook his head and smiled. They came to the edge of the desert and each got out their goggles and put them on. Embry went into the blowing sand first and was soon followed by Brandon. The two seemed to walk for a few hours in the sand, periodically stopping to take a drink from the water canteens they brought. They finally arrived at the cave and stepped into the mouth and were relieved from the buffeting sands.
Embry set down his bag and then stretched himself out. "So where do you want to start Brandon?" Embry asked and turned to look at his partner.
Brandon looked around and then decided that they would split up and go look on different ends. Embry nodded and grabbed his portion of the gear and set off.
Embry looked around and didn't really see anything until he walked deeper into the cave and pulled out his flashlight. He saw a glimmer off something and walked toward it. He got closer and saw that an Aron was sleeping on top of a rock that looked a bit different than others. Embry grabbed Karin's pokeball and then released him just in case the Aron attacked. Embry tried to think of a way to get past it to get to the odd rock but he couldn't. "I know its a total cheap shot, but Karin Water Gun on that Aron."
Karin nodded and blasted the pokemon with a seemingly painful water gun. The pokemon awoke and started shaking and it seemed a bit tired already. Embry thought that Aron would be a great addition to his team and thus looked at Karin and signaled for another Water Gun. The Aron started wobbling but not before giving a beautiful Mud Slap attack on Karin. Embry saw that the attack while a weak one, was still powerful and then grabbed an empty pokeball. He threw it at the Aron and watched the ball with his flashlight until it stopped moving. "Thank you. Welcome to the team Agro." Embry picked up the pokeball and put it on his belt. he then walked over to the rock he saw and noticed that it had claw-like shapes in it. Like they were part of the rock. was this a fossil?
"Good job kid! Now hand it over!" a voice came from the dark. The voice was soon given a person as the man in a strange attire entered Embry's line of sight. "I'll be taking that Claw fossil form you."
Embry seemed a little shocked. One, a strange guy was creeping on him form the dark. And two, he expected Embry to give up the fossil he worked so hard for. "Nah, I think I'll keep it."
The man seemed irritated with Embry. "I've been waiting for somebody to get rid of that Aron so I could steal the fossil, and now that you have I want it, whether I have to force it from you!" The man yelled and released a Geodude from a pokeball.
"Oh, you mean this guy right here?" Embry asked releasing Agro his new Aron. Agro seemed a bit irritated at the Geodude like he had seen it before. "Oooh! A Grudge match. Fun, lets start with Iron Head!"
The man flinched back from Embry when he saw Agro emerged and watch his pokemon get bashed with the powerful Steel type attack. "Umm.... Dang! Geodude, rock Throw?"
Embry chuckled a bit hearing this. He watch the rocks bounce off Agro with almost no damage done. "Sorry mate, but I'm in a bit of a time crunch, Agro, another Iron Head!" Embry watched his pokemon plow into the Geodude again and this time it fainted the pokemon.
The man started to act scared before backing up a bit. "Uuuh.... You'll get yours! this isn't the last you'll hear from Team Eolith!"
Embry shook his head and grabbed his stuff after recalling Agro. "Some people just don't learn..." He wrapped the fossil in a towel and walked back to the meeting point with Brandon.
~~~

Needless to say Brandon had found his fossils with ease and was already waiting on Embry when Embry arrived. "so did you get anything?"

Embry handed him the fossil and started leaving. "I got an Aron which satisfies my needs. You keep the fossil. I'll see you again sometime soon Brandon"

Brandon looked a bit shocked and then shrugged. "Alright, take care of yourself Embry!"

"You too you big lug of rocks!" Embry shouted exiting the cave and heading from the desert and back towards Lavaridge. Embry thinks he did rather well here. He'll leave a report of this on Sub's desk when he gets back. After seeing into this mysterious Team Eolith.

Mission Complete.

8/18/2011 Dusk Dawn Brothers Complete

Quote:
Mission: Embry had been away from base for awhile. Everyone had wondered where he went to, but he wasn't sharing. He returned one day after a long period of no communications. He had a folder in his hand and it had multiple papers in it, seeming like a report on something. He walked it over to Sub's desk and left it.

Day 1:

Embry had received a call from a very old friend, somebody he hadn't seen in a few years. His friend Merc Loc needed help and was calling in a long forgotten favor. "I understand, I'll be there shortly, I'll see you at the lighthouse." Embry said hanging up the phone. Embry grabbed his bag and pokemon, leaving his SNAG on his bunk and every form of identification of Team Snagem behind. He didn't know if he would be coming back and didn't want the wrong people to find them. Embry walked over to Claydol and smiled "Hello, Lilycove City if you could."

Embry arrived in Lilycove City right outside the pokemon center and shrugged off the unnerving feeling form the teleportation and started walking towards the lighthouse. He felt all his memories flooding back to him. Memories of rainy nights spent training and running, lonely days of summer working in the garage, ice cream off the ledge staring at the ocean. He missed all of those things but he left it all behind him to go make something better of himself. "Its about time you showed up!" A voice called to him from the lighthouse as he neared it.
"I see, you're just as loud as ever Merc," Embry remarked walking up to his old friend and giving him a nod. "I heard there was some trouble back home so I had to come back. Whats been going on?"
Merc shook his head, he seemed more casual than normal. He wore a red tank top, black jeans, his skin was pale, his sunglasses stuck out on him like the only boy in an all girls school. His hair was laid down as usual, while it may seem different, he was all the same. "We've got a gang of ruffians coming in. right now its just a couple of street thugs who think they're tough, but it looks as if they'll be calling in more people if they get too comfortable."
Embry shook his head, "ok so tell me what we'll actually be doing," Embry knew that this was not going to be an easy or fun task.
Merc smirked and then pulled out a couple pictures from his pocket. "Thats the current 'boss', his name is Anothony-" Merc got out before Embry interjected.
"Anthony? Anthony Franchesco?! Merc are you out of your mind!?" Embry was sure not to shout the name. "Anthony Franchesco is one of the biggest pokemon thieves in Hoenn. And you think that we can stop him?"
Merc flinched back a moment before continuing on with his talk. "Now I know that you're a little furious and I understand that, I do, but you have to understand something too; Anthony is looking for people with able hands and talking abilities to 'join' him here in Lilycove. If we can get in, we can let go all of the pokemon he's stolen and then hit him while he's weak."
Embry thought a moment about the situation. He didn't have his Snag machine so he couldn't very well snag a pokemon from the trainer to lessen the pressure so he'd have to do this the old fashioned way. "Fine, I'll do it.... But after this, I'm done. No more favors Merc."
Merc smiled and walked up to him and patted him on the shoulder. "Welcome back, Dusk."
Embry flinched at the name. It was one he hadn't used in so long that he had almost forgotten it. "Is she coming with us?" Embry asked the question and was hoping for a good response.
"No, Noon has a kid now, and she's happy. i didn't want to involve her with this," Merc said as he walked away hands in his pockets.
"Thanks Dawn," Embry said and then left back to the pokemon center for the night.

~~~~~~~~~~
Day 2:
Embry awoke early in the morning. The sun was barely rising over the horizon and Embry was already geared up for the day. He left his bag back at the pokemon center and was standing now outside the lighthouse again remembering more old tales of when he used the name Dusk. That was the gang, Merc was Dawn, their friend Micaela was Noon, and Embry was Dusk. They picked the names on the times of day so nobody would really know who they were behind the masks they used to wear. Embry held his now in his hand, it was black like a highway man's mask with an extension down the left side of his face as if the lower right part of his face were the only light left of him. He thought for sure he would never have to put this back on, but here he found himself putting it on once more.
"Glad to see you kept it after all these years Dusk....." A voice came from behind Embry so he turned around to face it. He was shocked to see Micaela's face looking back at him.
"I thought you weren't coming." Embry looked at his friend with a bit of awe while at the same time he felt glad. "I'm glad to see you again Micaela..."
Micaela looked at him with an awkward face. Its Noon, remember? And why would I miss out on this? Did Dawn tell you I had a kid? yeah, that never happened he just doesn't want me getting involved with the dangerous stuff." Micaela pulled out her mask and it was bright yellow and orange to reflect the Noon's sun. It covered just her eyes but the eyes on the mask reflected a cheering expression as the day would.
Embry smiled very happy to see his friend again, he was starting to wish he hadn't left. "Yeah, sorry Noon. I just didn't expect you."
Merc had shown up in that time and had ran up to them. He had his mask on as well. his was a full face silver and white one that reflected the innocence of a new day as dawn breaks over the world. the eyes depicted sorrow. "Good to see you Noon. You too dusk, well its time to get to work. Our 'audition' today is going to be a couple of the gang's regulars they'll be down by the contest hall preying on the young trainers who want to become coordinators, our job, give them a piece of our mind and let them know that this is our turf and we don't have room for a new bunch of thieves."
Embry rolled his eyes and nodded. He started walking away when Micaela called out to him. "You know, we aren't the only ones who missed you!" She cried throwing a pokeball to him that had a small 'V' on it.
Embry looked at the ball and smiled a bit. "Vistra..." Embry muttered the word and put the pokeball onto his belt knowing his once old partner was back with him once again.
The trio arrived at the contest hall shortly after their meeting and found the thugs rather easily. They were the bunch of idiots harassing the children about their pokemon. One kid tried to stand up for the others with his Azumarill but the battle wasn't going to well against the thugs' three Nuzleafs. embry looked to Merc and got a nod acknowledging the silent request Embry had made and Embry stepped in. "Hey morons, start picking on people your own size or you just might get hurt. Lets go Vistra, show the how easy it is for them to get burned with Flamethrower!" Embry cried calling his partner out, it had been awhile since he used her in a battle, but she was the only pokemon people around here would recognize him with and he needed to make a statement. His Vulpix was well known as his partner and had only been seen in times of complete distress.
The flamethrower lit a nice show for the grass pokemon it scorched. The thugs recalled their pokemon and started shouting at Embry. "Who do you think you are!?"
Embry chuckled and waved his hand around as a signal and his two comrades swooped in on Micaela's Fearow named Fera. "Who are we? Who are you? We're the ones who run things here in this town. You must have heard about Dawn, Noon, and Dusk," Merc said stepping forward.
The thugs started to back up a little. "No way. You guys were supposed to be broken up and gone. Why are you here again?"
This time Micaela stepped forward. "We heard people were moving in on our turf, stealing what is ours. And lets just say that is really irritating to us."
The thugs seemed to be sweating bullets. This made Embry smile a bit. "No matter, you three will get yours as soon as we tell Anthony about this. Mark our words, you haven't seen anything yet!"
Embry took this as a cue for himself. "Go ahead, tell him. Run with your scared tails between your legs back to boos and let him know how you've failed him and see how he takes that."
The thugs ran off just as Embry said, running scared. Embry turned around and faced his friends. "I'll be heading out, I have a lot of preparations and all to make. We'll be getting rid of more and more of those guys each day and I need to know where they are and who they are. I'll see you guys in a bit get to scouting, there's some people I need to see." Embry left then without any other words and headed back to a less public area to take off his mask and change clothes. His day was done.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Day 5:

It was almost midnight, it was raining outside like the skies were angrier than ever. Embry stood atop a high ledge waiting for Micaela to let him know about her situation. The past few days they had taken care of multiple other members of Anthony's little gang of thieves and tonight they were expecting to pick off the last few. He waited in the rain, hood up, mask on awaiting her arrival.
"Mr. Dusk. I don't believe we've had the pleasure." A voice came from behind Embry. "It seems you know me rather well and yet I can't say that I know much of you."
Embry turned to see Anthony Franchesco himself staring at Embry from a few paces back. There was one other with him, just standing and holding an umbrella. "I must know my enemy as well as myself if I am to succeed in any of my endeavors," Embry remarked and took a look closer to see what was going to happen. It seemed as if the umbrella man didn't have any pokemon on him unless he concealed them well. Anthony however was notoriously known for his Golem and Sandslash. Embry couldn't afford to misjudge Anthony not having pokemon. "What is it that you want Franchesco?"
About this time thunder cracked across the black sky. The rain started coming down a bit harder. "What I want, is to find a place to settle down Mr Dusk!" Anthony shouted from over the rain. "I want to get away from this thievery that is my reputation! And what better way than to be defeated by a band of local vigilantes that think they run the place?"
Embry was shocked from this remark he turned his head a bit in confusion before responding. "Then what is it that you want of me? My friends and I have been removing every one of your little thugs one by one since you got here. The only one left is you. you want to be shown the same treatment?"
"Aye, I'm far too old to be doing this anymore Mr Dusk. I just want to find my home." Anthony released his pokemon from their balls, but not in a battle way but an actual releasing way. "I'm done with this. You want to know where all of my treasures are? This key," Anthony said pulled something from under his shirt, "will open the warehouse to all the pokemon I've taken. Its a bit past Mt Pyre."
"Why are you telling me this?" Embry asked "Why not one of the others?"
"Because Mr Dusk. It has to be you that releases the pokemon, because although your friend may say he wants to save them he seeks only power as I once did. And your other friend? Well, we all can tell that she would follow him over you."
Embry lowered his head and realized the truth behind this man's words. "Fine, I'll take it! Now get out of here!" Embry took the key from the man before they parted ways. He headed to the pokemon center to get some sleep, he had alot on his mind.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day 6:
Embry woke in the morning to see the key gone from his table. He got up frantic and looked for it. He couldn't find it so he got dressed and ran out of the pokemon center before being stopped by Micaela. He had her mask on but Embry could still see the bruises and the marks from her crying.
"Embry stop!" She cried putting her arms out to try and stop him. "Don't try and go after him, he's going to get what he wants, and I don't want you getting hurt!"
"So its ok for you to get hurt while i sit back and watch?!" Embry shouted. "I'm not about to sit back and watch as we take down one thief and put another onto the throne. I don't care what it takes, I'm stopping him and you will not change my mind."
Micaela put her arms down and breathed. "Fine, but be careful. He's gotten crazy and I think he's forgotten who his friends are...."
Embry nodded and hugged her before putting his mask on. "Dawn may begin the day, but Dusk is what puts it all away."
Embry ran all the way to Mt Pyre and jumped into the water and started swimming south. He knew exactly what warehouse to go to. He was ready this time for Merc. All those times growing up he lost all the time, but now was different, Embry couldn't lose.
~~~~~~~~~~~

The Final Battle:

Embry kicked open the door to the warehouse and found Merc standing in the middle of an empty field. It must have been where they tested the strength of the pokemon they stole.
Merc turned to face Embry, he also wore a mask, but this time it was a new one, solid black that covered the eyes, went down the nose and over the chin. "Well well well, if it isn't Dusk. You always were the more favored one weren't you? everyone liked you more than me. Didn't they?"
Embry tried to talk to him but Merc wouldn't have it. "Dawn, it was nothing I-"
"I was the leader!" Merc shouted and threw his fist down. "I put us together to help the city. I was the one who called you here. But who gets all the credit for driving out the evil people? You can hear it all over town, 'Dusk came back. He saved us all. He sent the bad guys packing.' Where is my credit?!" Merc seemed to be throwing a jealous rage.
Embry put his hands up palm out in a non-threatening manner. "Merc, just listen to me, you can have all the credit, I'll let them know it was Dawn who freed the pokemon and their trainers. We can still prevent this from going anywhere bad."
"No we can't!" Merc shouted and grabbed a pokeball from his belt. "Don't you see Embry? I'll never be as loved as you. Micaela still loves you more than me! Me, I'm the one who stayed here and helped her cope when you up and left her, and yet she still cares for you more than me! My best friend!" Merc started laughing hysterically now. "But its ok, we can settle this right now...."
"Merc, no don't do this!" Embry shouted, but it was too late, Merc had released his pokemon to fight and Embry knew he couldn't persuade form here. Merc's Absol gracefully entered the battlefield as if nothing was wrong. It was as if it wanted to fight.
"Hurry up Embry, pick your pokemon!" Merc shouted, it seemed he was getting more and more frantic as he got into the battle.
"Alright!" Embry called and thought a moment. He knew that none of his pokemon could take on Solace the Absol alone. He knew he was going to lose one his pokemon if not more in this battle but he had no choice. "Vistra, its time to shine."
"Finally! Solace, Swords Dance!" Merc cried as if he were desperate to see the pokemon move. Solace reared back on its legs and then came back down and its horn was glowing blue.
"Oh no, I know whats coming. Vistra, we have to cripple him while we can! Will-O-Wisp!" Embry shouted and watched as his Vulpix sent out the small, purple ghostly flames to burn the Absol and try to keep it from moving so much.
"Come on Embry, you know that will only get you so far! Solace! Night Slash!" Merc shouted and pointed while shaking and twitching a bit.
The move went through flawlessly, and if Embry didn't know better he would've thought Vistra was done for. however she got back up and was raring for battle. "Vistra I'm sorry, but I know you won't make it much longer. However get in as many Flamethrowers as you can before you go." Embry said and grabbed Agro's ball and was ready to send him out when ready.
It continued on for almost four turns of Solace hitting Vistra with Night Slash or Dark Pulse and Vistra continued her flamethrowers until finally a last night slash did her in. "I'm sorry again Vistra. you deserve rest you've done so well for me. Agro! Its time to rock with Iron head!" Embry said recalling his Vulpix and sending out his Aron for the remainder of the battle.
"Gah! An Aron won't save you here! Night Slash!" merc kept calling out the same move over and over, and while it was a good idea considering it was a strong move he forgot something; Aron was a rock/steel type which meant it wasn't an effective move. "Uh oh, thats not good..."
Embry saw the flinch when Solace landed from that last attack and was going to use it to his advantage. "I'm sorry Merc, but this ends now! Agro, iron head!"
The move impacted onto the side of the Absol with such force that the pokemon wouldn't and couldn't get up. Merc's eyes opened up and he started to cry. "Solace.... No..."
Embry walked up and ripped the key from the necklace on Merc's neck. "I'm sorry friend, I truly am. but you want to know why people like me so much more? Its because I can differentiate right from wrong. And what you were going to do was wrong so I came and set it right. Now get out of here. You have alot of things to think about, and you have to go find your inner self again. Back from when you first decided to wear your mask, until then stay away from the town. And when you're finally ready to come back, bring with you a new Dawn for them to see."
Merc nodded and got up and started walking towards the door. "Embry, I'm so sorry. Thank you though for helping me see light again."
Embry smiled and nodded. "That's what brothers are for right? That is why they call us Dusk Dawn brothers isn't it?"
"Yeah, it is..... Thanks...." Merc said and left the building. Where he went nobody knew but they say that Dawn went on to train hard and protect those as he saw he was needed. Striving evermore to become as strong as Dusk.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Days 7 and on:
Embry awoke to see Micaela staring at him and he jumped in fright. "Micaela! Don't do that!"
She laughed a bit and then tilted her head. "Well, I wanted to make sure I saw you before you left. I hear the old man by the lighthouse is letting you teleport back to wherever with his Alakazam."
Embry got up and put his shirt and pants on. Its a good thing he slept in shorts. "Yeah, you hear right. Micaela I'm sorry about Merc..." Embry said with a saddened expression.
Micaela smiled and shoved him. "Don't worry about him, you know he'll be fine now. And he's training to become stronger than you so you know thats going to keep him busy."
Embry chuckled a bit and nodded. "Yeah, he always did over do it on everything...." Embry pulled the key out of his pocket and handed it to Micaela. "The pokemon there belong with their owners, make sure that Noon takes care of it. I'm leaving now, and I'll be sure to come back sooner next time."
Micaela smiled some more and nodded before talking again. "Alright! I'll be sure to train real hard too to make sure that we're all in top shape for the next big problem in Lilycove!"
Embry laughed and messed with her hair. "Thats my girl." He grabbed all of his things and took a deep breath before heading over to the lighthouse.
They got to the Lighthouse and saw the man waiting with his Alakazam. Micaela gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek and waved him off. "Bye bye Embry! see you soon!"
Embry waved back before finally walking over to the man and thanking him for the use of his pokemon. "So where to sonny?"
Embry smiled and knew it was time for him to return to base and was happy to see his team again knowing that he was a stronger person now. "Unity tower, Unova."
1-18-2012 Tier Advancement Mission #1
Quote:
Tier Advancement Mission #1
So you finally made it to the end of tier six huh? Just to think, not long ago you were a fresh member, having no clue on what you were doing, just starting to trainer your Pokemon, and you already made it this far. You might think you've hit the big time by getting all the way here and choosing to take on the advancement mission but you're about to learn otherwise if you don't take this seriously. But enough of my speech to instill dramatic effect, let's get on to the reason why you're here, and that's to prove you're worthy of advancing to tier five.
This is the first of several missions you will be required to advance to each tier, once you reach the final rank of a tier that is, fortunately you've already met that requirement and now feel that you are ready to advance, so good for you! Now, your mission is a simple one, in theory that is. Our headquarters is situated within Mt. Silver, as you should know by now, which is home to many fierce Pokemon that test the strength of trainers through out the world. Because of their immense strength compared to your average wild Pokemon, and their seclusion from humans, the Pokemon here can sometimes by rather dangerous. Despite all the warnings people are given about the dangers of Mt. Silver and the Pokemon that inhabit it, one group of hoodlums though have completely disregarded these warnings and could possibly endanger not only themselves, but others, which could include us. The group I mentioned call themselves Team Ninja, though they are really nothing more than a small group of adolescent trouble makers from Johto who take their pranks, and love of all things 'ninja-like' way too far.
So what are they doing exactly? Well there is a very elderly Scizor that lives in the forested area at the base of Mt. Silver. This particular Scizor is unique in the fact that it is what is called "shiny", as in it posseses an alternate coloration apart from normal Scizor, in this case, it's a yellowish green. Now normally there is no problem in capturing a wild Pokemon, but their target is the leader of a pack of Scyther that thrive in the forest and removing the Scizor from its habit could severly disturb the hostile Scyther of Mt. Silver. Not only that, but the shiny Scizor is very old, as mentioned earlier. It can't fight much on its own, and it's almost always accomanied by other Scyther, so for Team Ninja to obtain it they would have to go through many Scyther, further disturbing the area, and with us having our headquarters in Mt. Silver, this won't be good for us. Though don't worry about Team Ninja finding out about us being here, they aren't that bright.
Now, your mission is, if you choose to accept it, to location the ragtag group of adolescent punks and stop them from capturing the shiny Scizor and disturbing the wild Pokemon of Mt. Silver. These kids have absolutely no concern for the Pokemon of the mountain and only treat them as toys. Now if it wasn't obvious already Team Ninja specialize in ninja-like Pokemon such as Nincada and Zubat, so Fire and Psychic types will be beneficial. Team Ninja themselves aren't very strong and not that much of a threat, just very annoying and reckless in their actions. So do us all a favor and give these guys the boot off of our mountain.
Objective
- Prevent Team Ninja from capturing the shiny Scizor.
- Don't allow them to anger and rile up the Pokemon of the mountain.
- Send them packing.
Opposition
- Team Ninja of course. Going by their numbers I would imagine you would face at least two members of the group with between two and three first evolution Pokemon each. You may also have to face the leader, a red headed scarf wearing teenager named Takashi who uses three Pokemon, them being Nincada, Koffing, and Ninjask.
Pokemon
- You'll mostly encounter the wild Scyther of the mountain who are extremely active in protecting their leader. You may capture/snag one first stage Pokemon (Includes non-evolving)
Rewards
- Advancement to Bronze Snagger in Tier Five!
- Varies from there.
Embry saw the case file on his footlocker. He read over it carefully before shaking his head. He grabbed Tunnel, Vistra, Corin, and Agro for this mission and packed his bag. Embry changed his clothes too he donned greenish tan-ish robes with a hood for this and left the base. he began down the mountain towards the forest for minor recon work.
At the bottom of the mountain in the forest surrounding the base of it Embry began his scoping. he pulled a small spyglass from his pouch and started looking around for any view of the Scythers that roamed. he caught only a minor glimpse of one as it moved very quickly from one large brush to another. embry smiled a bit. "good, the faster they move the less likely Team ninja will be able to find them...." Embry moved away now and then started patrolling through the forest to see if he could find anything out of the ordinary.
This bit of exploration led Embry around until he finally started overhearing a conversation from two people. He moved quietly to a bush close by as he watched two very poorly dressed 'ninjas' discussing their business. "Yeah, Takashi wants that Scizor, so we got to find a way to get to it. I'm thinking we just squish some of those Scyther until it comes out."
Embry didn't like the sound of this one bit, so he pushed through the bushes and revealed himself. "Hello, it seems you're in need of a challenge. How about me?"
The two seemed startled at embry's entrance and then jumped back to their guard. "fine! Nincada, koffing! Let's go! teach this guy not to mess with Team Ninja!!!!"
Embry shook his head and began his sarcastic banter "Oh no, a bug pokemon accompanied by a poison pokemon. Whatever shall i do? Oh, I know! Vistra, agro let's show these guys who's in charge around here!"
The pokemon all emerged into the small clearing fueled to fight. Embry was the first to make a move commanding a vicious Flamethrower from Vistra, accompanied by a head crushing Iron Head from Agro. Needless to say, the Nincada got scorched and fainted rather quick, but the koffing managed to hold on just long enough to retaliate with Sludge before Agro finished it off with Metal Claw. embry shook his head and then opened his mouth again "get out of here, you don't belong here!"
Embry moved away from the clearing and as he walked he saw a small glimpse of something green that wasn't plant nor Scyther. Could that be...? Embry thought to himself and continued onwards.
Embry walked more while thinking to himself that those two were way too easy. they must have just been recruited. embry passed this thought by and went on with his search for the leader that was shepherding his idiot lackeys around the forest. This was going to be an annoying day for Embry. It was already late afternoon, if he didn't hurry up he'd be there during the evening. and Mt silver is NOT a place to be in the night. especially if all the Sneasel decide to sharpen their claws that evening.
The hunt dragged out over the rest of the afternoon and well into the evening. Every time embry had defeated or gotten rid of a "ninja" from the trespassers he saw that same green tint that disappeared as soon as he tried to look directly at it. Embry shrugged it off time and time again, as now was time for other focus. It was now the hour of twilight. That eerie hour when the sun is falling and the night had yet to begin. The mountain and forest seemed to drastically change character as the darkness of night swept over them. Embry watched as the sunlight faded and darkness painted over all. The temperature dropped slightly and a small faint breeze picked up. It was just enough to send a small chill down Embry's spine. Embry disliked the feeling he was having, but he ignored it and went on with his search.
It wasn't long before he finally managed to find the final member of team ninja, the leader, Takashi. He sat on a rock as if meditating before opening an eye towards Embry's general location. "i know something's out there. I can feel it deep in my chakra the presence of another. I can not see you no, but I know you're here."
Embry was kind of annoyed that his blending was useless anymore. He stepped forward from the darkness into the open-close clearing that spotted the area with small bits of moonlight. embry spent no time and went straight to the point 'leave now takashi, you're not welcome here. the pokemon here live just fine without you disturbing them. Leave now, or else I'll make you leave."
Takashi chuckled a bit before standing up. "Big words from somebody of your stature. You seem to be nothing more than a boy who thinks he's a man."
Embry clenched his teeth as he heard the insult from the wanna be ninja. "I don't care what you think of me, I care only that you leave. So i'll only ask once more, Leave or it WILL get bad."
Takashi chuckled his little chuckle again and stepped from his rock backwards to give room. "So be it, you want a fight then i shall give you one! Koffing, let's show them the toxic treats of a ninja!"
embry shook his head and made his hop-step backwards back towards the darkened trees. "Agro, we've got work, its time to go!" Embry released one of his partners into battle and wasted now time for an attack "Agro, iron head."
The Aron charged wildly at the Koffing, using the rock for a lifting ramp and smashed dead into the Koffing with ease. the koffing managed to cough out some form of toxic gas, but they didn't bother Agro at all since his Steel type protected him from Poison. "Koffing, we're not doing too good, last resort, Self Destruct!"
Embry's eyes widened and then he had to make a quick decision "Agro, Iron Defense!" Embry called the command just in time to see Agro curl into a ball as the koffing exploded and then collapsed onto the ground. The pokemon was recalled and agro stumbled over to Embry's side to recover.
"That pokemon of yours is rather annoying, Nincada, Ninjask! let's go!" Takashi yelled and released two more pokemon to the field.
Just as this happened Embry heard twigs snap and Scyther appeared around the brim of the clearing. They seemed to be watching the battle to see what was to happen. they didn't seem to be rooting for any one side, just watching. As if they were anticipating who they would have to remove afterward. Embry shrugged them off and then reached for the one pokemon he knew would pulled him out of this pinch. 'Vistra, its that time again, lets see how they're feeling after a heat wave!" Embry released his second partner to the field and watched the vulpix let out a massive amount of radiation that just seemed to burn the very air. this seemed enough to scorch the Nincada into submission, but the Ninjask was nowhere to be found. Embry watched carefully for the opponent, and just as he turned his head a small movement caught his eye as a flash zoomed straight for Vistra and slashed her across the side. "Vistra!"
Takashi laughed and then opened his big mouth to brag "You've never battled a Ninjask before? Their ability Speed Boost puts them a good few steps ahead of your Vulpix. Now all i have to do is watch as your friend is picked apart piece by piece."
Embry grunted a frustrated noise. he knew if he didn't think quick he would have to try and call Vistra back for recovery time. embry watched as every time a bush rustled the Ninjask shot in and out and attacked his friend. Thats when it hit him. "Vistra, listen for the bush, as you hear it rustle, launch a Fire blast into the Ground and jump with it!" Embry shouted his command and waited.
The bush rustled once more and Embry's adrenaline slowed time down just enough for him to watch as the Ninjask reached out to slash Vistra just to be met with a Fire Blast that seemed to pour straight down onto it. embry watched the bug pokemon burn and then waved Vistra off. She was panting heavily, so Embry recalled her. "Thats it takashi, you're done get out of here!"
The ninja shook his head and then called back his pokemon. "beaten by a child, I'll never live this down. "I'll be back kid! You mark my words! I'll be back i swear it to the skies above!" The strange ninja threw a flash bomb and disappeared as everyone's sight came back.
Embry recalled Agro and then went to leave but was stopped by the Scyther. They seemed to be judging him, and so he remained in an unchallengeable pose. They then moved aside and he watched as a green Scizor stepped forward and nodded to him. It then turned around and left without any other notice, and one by one, the Scyther left just as mysteriously as they came.
Embry smiled and nodded. "You're welcome." It was almost midnight now. He walked over to the mountain base and began his climb back up to the spot were HQ was located to inform Sub that his job was done.
