The music was loud, the vibe right, and sweating, young people were dancing, flirting, drinking too much, and trying new things. The bar was packed, the party only just begun, but last call was a half hour away, and one blonde in particular was already heading toward the door.

Why?

K. Reever always liked to be gone by the time 'bar-thirty' rolled around, and the cops began to roll by to pick up DUIs, under-age drinkers, and drunk-in-public's. It wouldn't do to be around for some intoxicated idiot to call her out and cause trouble.

Besides, drunks were sloppy, this late in the night, and made for bad customers. Kess had already dropped off her small deliveries to clients, and was out the back door of the bar by the time the weed started to be passed around.

The cool night air was a relief, and she slipped a pack of cigarettes from the pocket of her dress-shirt, lighting one and leaning back against the wall.

It was quiet, here, with most of the drama hanging around the front door, and only a smoker or two keeping her company out back.

While on the dance floor, Morgan Everett couldn’t help but notice a few people lighting up over in a dark corner. They were huddled together, trying to act inconspicuous, but given the state of half the club patrons, nothing could have been more obvious. And nothing could have peaked the girl’s interest more. It had been a while since the redhead had gotten high, off of anything, and she was feeling in the mood. Monkey see, monkey do.

Wandering up the group, she batted her eyes at the closest male. “Any to ******** no. Sorry darling, but this s**t is too good to pass on. Try her, the blonde.” The man pointed out Kess, just as she was heading out. Morgan caught a glimpse of her short hair.

“Pixie?”

“Yeah.”

Darting off, Morgan pushed her way back across the dance floor and out the door. It took her a moment to adjust from the pulsing sound of dance beats to the quiet street. She didn’t see anyone around. The faint smell of smoke caught her attention though, just around the corner there was a small group of smokers and Kess.

Morgan strutted up to Kess, and with a knowing expression said, “I heard you have some goods.”

Dark eyes flicked up and down Morgan as she strutted up to her, and the tall blonde took another slow drag of her cigarette, blowing smoke into the sky before choosing to answer. When she did, her wide, lopsided grin was casual.

"Huh," Her brows rose slightly, "Who told you that?"

Rule #10: Never admit to having drugs on you. Kess was not that girl that passed out weed to anyone that had cash on them. She had regular clients, that knew the rules, and they referred people to her, rather than referring her to them. This girl, while a cute little thing, was definitely not a client. She must've seen someone with it, and asked. Probably not even someone who'd gotten it directly from her.

Of course, Kess was a friendly girl, and this redhead didn't seem like the type to just walk away so easily. Her expression was innocent, friendly, despite the fact that they both knew that the blonde was indeed a very specific type of delivery girl.

"I might know a guy, though."

“A young Ron Howard with a botched nose job.” What she had meant by that was that the man, who told her to ask Kess, was a red headed hipster who dressed like an extra in Happy Days. Morgan ran her hand over the bridge of her own nose and made a tweaking gesture to signify that the hipster’s nose was broken.

Morgan herself was not really in the habit of buying her own drugs. She was social user, and for the most part all her experience with illicit substances was at the insistence and offerings of someone else. The social etiquette of buying off the street or from dealers was pretty much lost on her.

The redhead was feeling playful, but not likely to give up . “A man by the name of Back Pocket?”

A short laugh, then, at Morgan's wit, before Kess' goodnatured face turned a bit more serious. Pushing off the wall with a foot, her hands slid into said back pockets [which were empty], and she gave the younger girl another long, measuring once-over.

"Look, honey. I'm not the person you're looking for." It was pretty clear. Morgan was the kind of girl that expected a free ride. She wanted fun, how and when she wanted it, and expected to get it. Unfortunately for her, K wasn't some overeager boy looking to impress a pretty girl. She was running a business.

Her laugh was quieter now. "Do you even have any money?" A slight shake of the head. "Like I said, if you're serious, I may know someone, but you aren't getting anything out of me." Not tonight, anyway.

The redhead wasn’t too surprised by the empty pocket turn-out. It was a guess, and a bad one at that, but she wasn’t going to give up until she was blissfully under the influence of something. If that meant going back to the bar and paying for her own drinks, that was what she’d have to do.

“Of course I have money.” Seriously, who does have money? Morgan opened the silver clutch purse that was hanging off a strap on her wrist. Rooting through, she found some loose change and a 20 dollar bill. Turned out Morgan was the one who didn’t have money. Likely because she had spent a large chunk of the cash she had earlier in the day on supplies and essential oils.

That gave her an idea. “I have this,” Morgan held out the twenty, “but if that’s not enough, we could work out some kind of trade.”

Kess didn't bother to hold back her bright, sunshine grin as Morgan rooted through her purse and came up with... Not much. Of course, she could buy something with that, but the blonde rarely opened a new 'account' for so little. She wasn't that playground dealer, you know. One had to keep to their standards.

Her interest was obviously piqued as Morgan continued, though, and she stepped closer, raising an eyebrow. "Trade?" It was how Kess got all sorts of cool things, including freshly canned peaches. Yum.

"I'm listening."

“I make bath salts and my own face masks. You look like you could use a good facial.” Morgan didn’t quite mean it as an insult, but she was noticing Kess’s skin looked a little dry.

“I have fresh ingredients at my place. Regular spas can be expensive. My masks are just as good.” Was Morgan really equating her own home spa services to that of a professional? Why yes, she was. The girl was confident in her budding abilities at refreshing dull skin.

"Huh," Kess nodded slowly, considering the offer. She wasn't the type to stay on top of skin care, that was certain, and was blessed with naturally good skin. However, she spent a lot of time in the sun, at the beach, and so on, and it could certainly use a little love.

"Forget the cash, then." That easy, wide grin. "I meant it when I said I don't have anything on me, but." A shrug of one, slim shoulder. "I could meet you at your place, say, tomorrow, and we could work something out."

A hand ran through her pale strands, then, mussing them. "Up to you, girl."

A satisfied smile spread across Morgan’s lips. Victory! Well, sort of. Her prize would have to wait, but the girl was happy that she was correct in pursuing asking Kess. Waiting one night or two to have a good time was worth it. “Excellent! Tomorrow sounds like a plan. I’ll cook something up just for you.” Morgan winked, what was exactly implied in that wink only she could really know. Likely it just meant that the redhead was already brainstorming which ingredients to use to make something fun for the blonde; something worthy of an exchange.

Morgan dipped a hand into her purse and pulled out a tiny piece of paper and a pen. Quickly, she scribbled her address and phone number on it, then handed it over to the blonde. “Let me know when you want to get together.”

"Morgan, hm?" Kess glanced up from the scrap of paper, slipping it into a backpocket to tap into her phone later, and nodded, her wide grin easy, friendly.

"Call me Kess. I'll be in touch." A two fingered salute to the pretty girl, and the blonde continued her walk down the alley, glancing back over her shoulder, once. "I'll bring you some samples."
