As optimistic as Eve Summers was, one couldn't help feeling down after they had attempted to restore the Surrounding with the meager numbers they were left with and had experienced failure. Even as the others had tried to cheer the Princess up, she knew that everyone had reservations about it. Perhaps it had been the doubt lingering in the back of their minds that led to this? It was the only reason she could dredge up, because if they did indeed need the full Zodiac Court for it to work, then well...
They were pretty much screwed. Aries and Sagittarius were dead, never to return. And besides, they were missing one of the Seasons. Carpo.
Eve had never been one for coffee. Yet today, she had ordered an iced latte and was lounging in the cafe, staring outside at the passerbys, a hand propping her chin up as she thought. What if one of them was Carpo? Or maybe Carpo had been awakened and they had absolutely no idea... no, Chronos and Zue would have said something. As the first Season to be awakened, she somehow felt responsible for them, perhaps because she had been ignorant of her duties at first and she didn't want them to feel the same.
Taking a deep breath, she took a sip from her cup and then plastered a smile on her face. No use sighing over everything. She was the Senshi of Spring, for goodness sake; Boreas had been more cheerful than her while they were up there in the Surrounding!

The sun's rays beat down on the blue eyed boy. Beads of sweat started to form on his forehead and he was ready to do just about anything to get out of the heat. Thankfully, he had dressed casually, tank top and shorts to combat the awfully high temperatures. Adjusting his sunglasses, he looked up into the clear blue skies. Rain clouds would have been a welcome sight. Noel would have even settled for overcast if it kept the air cooler. However, there wasn't a cloud in sight and he quickly entered the cafe to find some relief from the summer sun. As the door clicked to announce his arrival he searched for a few seconds for his fellow season senshi. Spotting Eve near the window, Noel removed his sunglasses and took the seat across from her.
"Gotta say that I was a little worried when you wanted to go to a coffee shop, but it turns out they have cold drinks as well. You always know how to keep me on my feet. I take it the heat is driving you crazy too?"
Noel's voice had a playful tone and he gave Eve a playful smile as he spoke. It was obvious that the heat wasn't what was troubling her. Their efforts had bore fruit, but hardly what they had all hoped for. Even though he too was bummed following the attempt to completely restore the Surrounding, he had quickly moved on in hopes of better things to come. They had done something amazing with such a small group right? Noel thought that it was something to be proud of anyway. Keeping his playful tone, he tried to keep both of their spirits up.
"What's on your mind this afternoon, my favorite flower child?"

Her smile brightened considerably as said Senshi of Winter slid into view opposite her; Eve had been momentarily distracted by a group of laughing teenagers and wondering if they really were as carefree as they looked. Her attention was now on Noel though, whom she had asked to meet, because hey, they needed to get to know each other better, right? And talk. There was a bond between them as Seasons, but still! Noel and her had usually met only once or twice, and barely patrolled together.
"Oh come on, Jack Frost." Eve teased in return. "You know it's not my season. Bo's probably the happiest of us right now." Then again, Bo was probably the happiest of them all in any season. It seemed that nothing could get him down and Eve could only imagine him being slightly put out about the Surrounding before resuming being Mr Jolly Summer Boy. "The heat's probably getting to you more than it does to me though. Do you have boxes of ice-cream stuffed in your freezer or something?" It was evident that Noel was desperate for any kind of relief from the summer heat.
"Well..." She began, fiddling with her straw. "Obviously, you know, after things didn't quite work out as well..." She didn't exactly feel comfortable discussing it in public, plus it weighed down enough on the back of their minds. "I was wondering, if you remembered anything from the past? I mean, I practically couldn't remember anything at all and I still can't, unless you count really brief flashbacks I had when I went to my homeworld." And those didn't really help much.

Very nice and very distracting thoughts entered his mind when she mentioned Bo. Bo frolicking on the beach. Bo in a bathing suit. Bo swimming and showing off his perfect body. Noel almost lost his entire train of thought as Bo was on the brain. However, her mention of feeling out of season made him remember how uncomfortable he truly was from the summer sun. Taking a napkin from the wooden table, he wiped the remaining beads of sweat from his forehead as he spoke.
"Ugh, you have no idea. This heat is driving me crazy! The other day my air conditioning broke and I was forced to wander the city in search of free AC. Just awful. I would be willing to channel our powers into blocking out the sun if I thought it would help."
However, he instantly felt bad for bringing up any mention of their channeling since it instantly brought them back to the Surrounding. Thankfully, he was able to avoid it further with Eve's inquiry. Light blue eyes gained a distant look as he tried to explain his experience with his past life and his voice gained a serious tone.
"Sometimes when I'm around you guys . . . and we are all ... In a truer form, I get these weird little flashes of images. It's like we were all there together once... minus a certain season of course, but still there and going strong. I want to say that I've remembered our time together and what we were able to accomplish. I want that back the most, but all I really have are just hazy visions and a seriously eerie sense of déjà vu...”
Noel paused for a moment as another group of teenagers passed by the coffee shop window. A group of four high school students that were smiling and laughing about something on a cell phone and their bond was evident. The image bothered Noel as he felt the odd sensation once more. There he picked up his ramblings once more.
"After what happened ... the other day... I just got this strange feeling that I can't shake... like we were able to accomplish so much more once. You know? Like if weren't without a few people, life before... this time... we could have done more. What do you think? Did that event bring up anything for you?"

"You could always visit Serenade to cheer her up." Eve quipped. For a moment there, she had almost added 'At Crystal', but remembered with a start that the Princess had returned home for the summer. Still, Serenade was usually piano-playing in her free time, which meant she could be normally found in air-conditioned rooms. Besides, the Princess would always be happy to see members of her Court visit her! It was a win-win situation.
He didn't seem to remember every much either and she placed her hand over his, squeezing it lightly in hopes that it would comfort him. It wasn't easy to barely be able to recall things they all knew were important; she had experienced it when Zue first recognized her at the huge senshi meeting. As Serenade had always said, 'It hurts the most to remember that you've forgotten', and it described exactly the feeling of loss they had as they wished they could recall more. "I wish Carpo was here too." She murmured softly. Perhaps they should bug Zue to patrol with them in search of the missing season...
"I remember there were more of us." Eve said, a faraway look in her eyes. "I mean, I never met the Prince, or Aries or Sadge, but I think there was a really quick image flash in my mind when I saw the table... or at least, what's become of it. It hurts when I think about it though. I managed to remember some things from my trips back to my homeworld but it's pretty useless... all it seems to want to tell me is that I was once engaged." She made a face, attention snapping back to stare into her tea as she stirred the ice cubes around in the cup. "I don't suppose you even remotely remember such a thing?" It was kind of silly to ask him that, when she had already asked the Princess who remembered far more of the past than them both combined, and had gotten a questioning look in return.

Though the two hadn't spent a great deal of time together, he still felt her genuine concern with the touch of her hand and the manner in which she spoke. Noel's blue eyes lost their far off luster and returned to focusing on the young lady that now sat across from him. He returned her kind notion with a smile and a slight squeeze of the hand. It was his silent sign of gratitude for taking the time. Eve's mention of the princess also strengthened his conviction and dedication. It seemed loyalty and concern was ingrained into him when it came to the Princess and the other seasons.
"I guess I should give her a visit. It would be nice to see her in a more relaxed setting since I'm usually chasing after her or trying to keep her out of harm's way. Haha She would probably appreciate a little civilized conversation. She would also be our best bet in finding the last season, Carpo. Not to say you and Bo aren't wonderful, but I like the idea of playing with a full set!"
Noel gave her another smile at the notion of a complete group of seasons. True to his words, he did really enjoy Spring and Summer's presence, but it would be nice to know Autumn was out there somewhere waiting to join the fold. However, these warm notions quickly lost his attention as he listened to Eve discussed her experiences and memories.
"Engaged!? Wow, that's just crazy! Do you remember what he looked like or why you even decided to get married at such a time? Now I'm just plain curious about that one. You have just blown my mind! Haha"
His eyes widened as they stayed fixated on her. Noel really couldn't process the idea, much less wrap his brain the idea of any of them getting married. It seemed they were always in the middle of the struggle. Not to mention the idea of a long term commitment scarred the crap out of Noel, so marriage was only that much more terrifying. However, he tried to remember his manners before his mind unraveled any further.
"I mean, we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. I can imagine such a romance is a sore spot, given the holes in all our memories."
He gave her another smile as a form of reassurance, just as she had given him a few minutes ago.

There was an unexplainable bond between all of them-- well, alright, it was technically quite explainable seeing that they had spent their past lives together as a team centered around their Princess. Still, the Seasons were like another family, not unlike the Dream Team, and Eve had gone from trying to decide between them to accepting them both. That was the decision that rang true in her mind, and no one, not even Zue, could convince her otherwise even if they wanted to.
Eve bobbed her head. The Princess would eventually find Carpo, she was sure. After all, she had found her that time, after she had been awakened for quite a while! And then they had found Neso and Boreas both, after! She had to keep the optimism flowing in, like how Bo and Noel did. "I wonder how Carpo would be like." She said thoughtfully. "I hope it's another girl!" That would balance things out quite well, although Eve really wouldn't mind if it was a dude. All that mattered was that they got Carpo back.
"I blew my own mind when I first heard about it." She groaned, massaging her forehead lightly. Eve wasn't one for commitment either, so she had absolutely no idea what her past self had been thinking. Plus, there had been the circumstances in the past with their sworn duties... "I actually uh... brought him to Flora with me. I didn't know until I saw his... past self... with me..." She grimaced, and then took another quick sip. "I don't know if you know him, but his name is Zephyr. Blue hair. Wind senshi."
"I mean, I, uh, I guess I am pretty petrified at that I actually agreed to get engaged. It just... something doesn't seem right, but I just don't get it." At this, she gave Noel a wry smile. "And I'm just kind of hoping that this thing with past life lovers ending up together now doesn't really happen. I mean, I can't stand thinking that my fate's been decided for me." Maybe Flora was bound to it, but Eve Summers decided her own fate.

Noel was slightly biased in his hopes for Carpo. While it truly didn't matter what gender or appearance the senshi of autumn possessed since the most important factor was the senshi's ability to protect the Princess; this didn't keep Noel from hoping for another attractive male, preferably one that played for his team since Bo was unfortunately wrapped around someone else's finger. To make matters worse, Noel was in a bit of a dry spell since he had recently tired of the nightlife and wanted something a little more serious.
"Hopefully Carpo is a beautiful person inside and out. I wouldn't mind a little office romance, if you catch my drift since I am currently on the hunt for a boyfriend. Hopefully nothing as serious as engaged in a past life. No offense, but that scares the hell out of me."
Giving her an overly exaggerated expression of worry and fear, he tried to lighten her mood a bit on the subject before he pried for further detail. His memories had mostly been warm and welcoming with small glimpses of the seasons interacting with the princess as well as visiting the different Zodiacs at their posts. He couldn't even fathom a love that went through the ages. Even the thought of something so binding gave him goose bumps.
"I just can't believe you had to experience that flashback with the guy standing right there, all alone on your planet. Talk about unfair. Did he seem to recollect the memory as well?"
Noticing her mood and tone, Noel tried to show some sympathy to his fellow season senshi. Placing a hand over Eve's, he gave her a smile and a nod before proceeding in a different manner than blatant disbelief.
"It was another life, right? We make our own destiny as far as I'm concerned. I guess I could see there being some lingering feelings, but ultimately, you are the one who gets to decide what you want to do with those feelings. I personally run away from commitment like a bat out of hell, but you are the one who chooses to take that path again. However, if he is really hot, you could just casually date him. Nothing wrong with testing the water. Haha."
Noel gave a playful wink and a sly grin. The sentiment was more a joke than a serious recommendation, but he wasn't one to pass up a hot guy ready and waiting, so he certainly wouldn't give Eve any grief about it. Though he imagined she probably didn't have his wandering eye and carefree attitude when it came to love and sex or mostly the latter for Noel.

Eve laughed and waggled a finger at him jokingly. To be honest, hooking up with any of the Seasons or the Zodiacs squicked her out a little, since they were all sort of like a family, but hey, there was Leo and Virgo! There was nothing wrong if Noel found a boyfriend in whoever was Carpo, depending on Autumn's gender, of course. Silently, she agreed with him that being engaged was really scary, and scrunched up her face jokingly in return, bobbing her head.
"He didn't." She shrugged her shoulders lightly. "I don't think he would lie to me if he did; he genuinely seemed rather confused as to why I started freaking out." Which, in hindsight, probably made her look very strange, but at least he had been the only one there to witness it? Well, she knew now to be careful in picking someone she trusted to accompany her to Flora the next time.
"Ew, commitment." Eve made a face. It was very unlikely that she would want to settle down with Senri, even though he was, in Noel's words, hot. Her face reddened slightly and she could only smile sheepishly. "We'll see how it goes, I guess? And you? Having problems with finding a good boyfriend?" It was time to steer the conversation away from herself, and hey, she was genuinely concerned for Noel, after all.

Not one to be shy about his love life or should it be described as his sex life? Love seemed a little too generous of a word to describe very casual approach to dating. Most of the time the sparks disappeared by the time the sun rose in the morning. However, this didn't mean he wasn't looking for love and more importantly, someone to spend the rest of his life with. Unfortunately, his nineteen years of work had yet to bare any fruit. Nevertheless, the senshi of winter was far from deterred and his brief affairs only fueled the fire.
"I think that's fantastic that he didn't jump the gun to pick up where you left off the last go around. That certainly says something wonderful about him as a person that he is willing to focus on the here and now!"
Giving Eve a sly smile and a wink, he continued on. The notions were meant as a playful warning more than anything else. Noel's personal life was always on the edge of disastrous, at least when it came to men. Some couldn't let go and others couldn't be bothered to speak to him again. He always seemed to be in some sort of gray area. Thankfully, he didn't take this awkwardness with his gender as an insult and continued to believe in better days and men.
"Oh my personal life is always amazing! Haha. Nothing serious right now. I seem to have a problem with reeling them in. I suppose it's because I'm always rushing to get to the good stuff, but at this point, I wouldn't mind someone staying for breakfast. Is it so much to ask for a guy to stick around long enough to cook him some eggs and toast? Hehe. I guess I should do more to build on the emotional, but what can you do with men these days?"
Noel gave an overly exaggerated sigh and then another smile as he sat back into the wooden chair. By now, he was sufficiently cooled off from the blaring AC unit. Now he felt more like himself than ever and even more comfortable around his fellow season.

"I guess." Eve gave him a weak smile, trying not to imagine what she might have done if Zephyr had taken it that way. The here and now. That was exactly what she should be focusing on, like both Boreas and Zephyr, but one really couldn't deny the allure of knowing the details of the past as well. Perhaps she really should take a more laid back stance with the situation at hand... besides, the more pressing issue was the Surrounding.
"I would matchmake you if I knew any guys like that who registered on my gaydar." Her gaydar was pretty good after all, except when it came to Lucy, whom made her just list him as 'The Boring Asexual'. For a moment Eve contemplated introducing the two to see how it would turn out, but Noel probably wouldn't like how dreary Lucien Everard was. "I haven't been dating for quite a while, so my connections have kind of shrank." It was a pity, really.
"Hey, maybe we should tag team one day! I mean, a cute girl and a cute guy? Totally gets people's attention." She had tried it with a girl before, after all!

"I know what you mean. Most of the guys I meet are only interested in hook-ups or something very casual."
He paused for a moment and scrunched up his nose at the idea of all the men he knew that only cared for one night stands and the walk of shame in the morning. Not that Noel could be that judgmental about such a lifestyle since up until recently, he had been the very same. The white haired boy then sighed and turned his focus to Eve once more and let his disappointments with dating fade away into the back of his mind.
"Not that I should really be giving them too much grief about it. That would certainly be the pot calling the kettle black, given my track record with men in the past, hehe. Still I wouldn't mind finding someone that actually cares about me as a person and less about me as something to do on Saturday night."
Watching Eve as she spoke, he almost burst into laughter since a rather attractive young couple was sitting at the table behind her. He wondered about her proposal for a few moments and a sly smile covered his face. Nothing intrigued him more than the hunt and especially the challenge of finding a couple that would be into both of them. Returning his gaze to Eve, he kept his sly grin as he spoke and his tone reflected his more playful side.
"Oh Eve, you've surprised me. I didn't know you had that you in you! Props to you for that idea. No wonder you are our captain. I have to say that I'm very excited to find such a couple. Well, they don't have to be a couple, but you know, an attractive pair to have some fun with. Have you dated a girl before?"
Noel's interest in his captain was peaked and he continued to hope that their new conversation topic was going to help improve her mood and to that end, he tried to keep their conversation light and fun.

Eve liked the guys who were interested in something casual, not those who were clingy or demanded more. There were times when she felt the need to slip in, rather bluntly, that she was not at all interested in commitment. At least Senri didn't seem like that type, thank goodness.
"Well, there's always time to change your ways." She said with a smile. She wasn't one to push her beliefs about romance onto someone else, because it was nice to see people she knew hook up and be happy. Even though she herself would never dare to. "You'll find a nice guy, eventually. I'm sure of it." Spoken with confidence, because Eve loved Noel for who he was, and didn't see how anyone else wouldn't. Being a Season was like a bond of unconditional love.
"C-captain?" She stammered, eyes widening. "Oh no, I'm not in the least bit Captain-y at all!" Pegasus was Captain-y. Aries was Captain-y. Virgo was Captain-y too; after all, the Princess trusted her. Eve thought that the Seasons were too small a group to have a Captain, and after all, they didn't have Carpo yet. That and past Flora would have never been the Captain, she was sure.
"I dated a girl once." Eve shifted the conversation to answer Noel's question with a light-hearted shrug. "I mostly date guys though."

Relaxing, Noel leaned back off the small, wooden coffee table onto the slightly uncomfortable wooden chair. As he folded both arms over his head, Noel returned to a more relaxed stance. The talk of carefree love made him feel more at home, not to mention it made it even harder for the white haired boy to consider any kind of romantic relationship, especially when he knew what came with monogamy.
"Hmmm... I don't know. After that suggestion I may need to find a nice guy to do unspeakable things do and maybe some speakable stuff too. Hehe, nothing like a one night stand to clear your mind."
Pausing to laugh at his own comment, he couldn't help, but to feel like every waiter and young man in the coffee shop became more attractive. Turning his gaze away from the various men in the shop, he tried to get back to his old mind set of finding someone special.
"I hope so! I really am ready for something serious where I don't have to go out every night looking for something new. Because I have to tell you that the new car smell wears off quickly when it comes to men. Ugh, I can't even think of dating girls again. A girl and I are just two queens trying to compete for the crown. Haha Though in all seriousness, I really can't see myself falling in love with a girl when I have only ever fallen for men."
Bringing his arms down to rest on his lap, he tried to set humor aside for a moment and bring up something a little more serious. He didn't know how to really ask his question and for a couple of seconds, his lips seemed to move without any sound. Noel then let out a sigh and awkwardly began.
"So, yeah... I recently upgraded to super. Super senshi or whatever it is. I don't really have much experience yet, but I have noticed a change in my abilities. Did things feel different when you upgraded?"

"Well, you love whom you love." Eve said sensibly. As long as Noel was happy, she would support him all the way! "Just follow your heart, but don't forget to use your head sometimes too." She tapped the side of her own to emphasize her point. "But your heart should always be the first and foremost priority." You had to be smart in love, but if you didn't love the person in question, then what was the point, right?
"You're super?" Her eyes widened, and she grinned, eyes shining with a slight twinkle of pride. "That's great! Want me to treat you to a slice of cake to celebrate?" With that, she waved a hand to signal a waiter over to their table and as they waited, she answered his questions. "Well, I certainly did feel more fancy. You know, new outfit and all." Eve joked and then addressed the serious issues. "But yeah, my regular power got upgraded and I felt stronger. And a part of you feels like you're wiser somehow, because it is like a symbol of your experience."
