I think they should make aforum just for cybering. If people then choose to go in there, they wouldnt be "exposed" and then all the pervs would stop going into chatterbox and having verbal sex... I think it's a good idea anyone else?

While personally I don't see anything wrong with cybering, the admins of this website have made it quite clear that they don't want it happening. It's their site and I am just a guest. If I want to use their site, it's my responsibility to respect THEIR morals, not argue for mine.
There are plenty of places where people can meet and cyber. They are all over the net. And if you meet someone on Gaia and want to cyber with them, it's very easy just to open AIM or MSN and do it there. Or even just do it in PMs.

There is nothing wrong with cybering but I wouldn't like to see one on Gaia.
Cybering can be emotional cheating though if you have a boyfriend or girlfriend.

The gaia admin decided it and so it is the rule. It would go against the pg 13 rules anyway. If someone is really that desperate there are plenty of other places to go where no one cares.

This is a legal answer: Anyone who is underage (or who is deemed mentally a minor) can not engage in cybering because it is, legally speaking, pornography. Porn is any sexually explicit writing and/or picture intended to arouse sexual desire. Most countries attempt to restrict minors' access to hardcore materials, limiting availability to adult bookstores, mail-order, via television channels that parents can restrict, among other means. There is usually an age minimum for entrance of pornographic stores, or the materials are displayed partly covered or not displayed at all. More generally, disseminating pornography to a minor is often illegal. Many of these efforts have been rendered moot by the wide availability of Internet pornography. So unless Gaia became a COPPA site, it's not feasible.

I heard you must be 18 or older to see pornagraphy. but I doubt it they see it until they're 18 since almost every boy and girl on Earth have seen a bit of it. they may see it again in there life time. besides sometimes its not the kids fault when they're researching for their projects or some sort, the websites that they go to directly leads them to a place where they're not allowed to.

I don't think cybering is wrong, it's just that this is a PG-13 site, and kids and teens will go there and look for themselves or pretend to be an adult to get in. That's the only problem with it.

I do it a lot, personally. There's nothing wrong with it. Just, on this site there are a lot age differences. And also, this ain't an X-rated site.

I tell my Gf erotic stories, and I see nothing wrong with it, and she likes them, But I agree with everyone here that the admins judged it would be against the law to allow cybering here due to the vast majority of people under 18 on this forum, and thus do not allowing anything over PG-13 on gaia.

I don't find anything wrong with cybering, but the reason as of why it isn't allowed on Gaia is, because kids under 13 years visit this page as well and yeah - some parents would probably freak out if they knew that their kid of 10 years is cybering online.
