Mètis walked calmly through the open feilds of her homeland up in the mountains. She had chosen this place long ago because it was close to the sky and so that she would also be far away from others. Not that she didn't occasionaly seek out a companion now and then. But everyone she met did not seem worthy enough of bringing back to her home to share in it's wonder. She often wondered if she simply had to high of standards for others, but then she would remember that there were those in the world that would simply destroy this place before her eyes. "I will never let anyone ruin this land like they did so many others." She said with a sullen tone. Why was it that humans and azerian seemed to only destroy everything they touched.

Mètis had asked herself that a lot lately. So one day she decided to test a azerian when she went on a walk, looking for someone to occupy her time with. She put many trials in their way, and up until the last one she thought they would pass and show her that others did have some good inside them. However, they failed the last trial and the most important one. Looking up at the sun she sighed and closed her eyes. How she longed for a companion that saw the world as she did.

His wings took long strokes at the air as the stallion flew above the mountains. His golden wings exploded with a glow, his scepter clenched between his teeth. The stallions golden eyes were hidden by this white eye lids as the suns rays brought him happiness and a warmth in his heart. The God took in a deep breath as he opened his eyes slowly to find a spot where he could rest his sceptar safely. He loved the sun shine being so bright, clouds made him unhappy, since the sun was so sheltered away from the world. He placed his shiny tool on the ground next to him. The stallion flicked his ear, a leaf falling from his head dress. His golden mane laid lightly against the dirt as he looked to the sky in silence.

It had been so long since he was able to relaxe his mind and stare off into the blue sky above him. He seemed to have so many problems, he hadn't been able to reach out to anyone. More so he was stressed due to the nights becoming seemingly darker. The stallion streteched out his long wings, pointing them so they became fully extended, his eyes closed. He did this only for a moment, opening his eyes to a mare down below himself. He smiled, putting his wings back down. His smile stayed, she was lovely, but the God did not want to scare her.

He waited for her to look his direction before he spoke aloud, "Fair Maiden, it seems you ventured far."

Mètis allowed her eyes to scan more towards the stallions direction. Allowing herself a few moments before she answered, she looked the stallion over. She made sure to take in as many details of this stallion as she could for later inquiry. As she looked the stallion over she took in the details of the leaf crown on his head, his golden eyes, hair and wings. She noticed he also had a necklace and braclets, as well as a cepter. Something about this stallion seemed familiar, not that she had ever met him before. Could someone have told her about this stallion? She wasn't sure, but it was best to wait and see what happened. "Good day to you golden stallion!" She said with a soft and friendly tone. "This is my home." She replied.

When she had told others about where she lived, especially the stallions they often looked at her like she had just told them a lie. Not many could believe a mare would go through all the trouble of living in the mountains, even if she did have wings that could get her there with no trouble. "May I ask what is you are doing so far out here?" Mètis asked curiously. "Come down here." She said plesantly. Suggesting it was a request and not a demand.

He found her beautiful, the mare before him had wings of such elegance, but he kept this himself. Helios felt her eyes settle on him, his smile came with warmth. He was used to such a look over, but he was not used to being greeted as anything other than ‘Sun God’ or ‘Helios, God of the Sun!”. He wrinkled his brow when he knew she was not looking at his face, was he to accustomed to how the God’s treated him that he could not enjoy a simple hello? He replaced his wings again, only lightly taking them off his body. He bowed as she greeted him, his charming smile creeping onto his face, “Hello to you as well, my dear maiden!” He straightened his neck to look around the mountains she called her home. With a swish of his tail, he turned back to her and voiced his mind, “Your home is beautiful, the God’s would praise you for finding this place!”

Helios’s ears perked as she spoke, “I wanted to get closer to the Sun.” He looked towards the blue sky, a small smile hidden on his face; he looked at the scenery below him. He hadn’t realized that she was below him , but with grace, he joined her on the same level. He felt the sun beating onto his back, he smiled to her, bowing once more. “I apologize for not coming down here sooner, I was taken away by the scenery. I have never been here before.” He rather liked her home, Zues had given her a blessing he told himself. His eyes widened, “Seems I have forgotton, I was given the name Helios.”

"Helios, that is a plesant--" Mètis had begun to say before she realized why something about him seemed familiar. "You're the Sun God Helios arn't you?" She asked, blushing ever so lightly. "I should have guessed from the aura around you." She said truthfully. Gently the mare moved her wings so that they rested against her back and out of the way. "I am the Titan Mètis." She replied. I should have known he was a God. They have the aura of arrogance around them. Although, not all are like the King God. Mètis thought truthfully. It was not unknown for the Gods to walk around acting much better then those that had not been blessed with God parents. However, because Mètis was a Titan, and most notably the wisest of all the Titans, she knew that this was due to upbringing and personal experiances. Although, Titans and Gods were made of the same cloth. Just one had more attributes then the other.

Seeing Helios reminded her of her brothers and sisters. Even though all the Titans were not necessarily related like the Gods. She missed them everyday and felt the pain of not being around them. However, she wanted to live a more notable life then the one she was living. She was a honest mare who did not care much for life being handed to her on a silver platter like her brothers and sisters. That was what led her to the human realm in the first place. Although, if she was being honest with herself she did retain some of the 'snobish' qualities that had be instilled within her. Such as living on this mountain, above everyone else.

He nodded to her, then began to smile, “Yes, that is me.” There was an aura around him? He kept the thought in his head as he tried to listen to her talk. Metis, what a rather interesting name, but she was a titan! He bowed respectfully, “I was not aware you were a titan. It’s a pleasure to meet you, dear Metis.” He was raised to be respectful, but the stallion held a deadly secret behind his pure walls. His temper, often could get the best of him. There had been an incident of a man, praying to Helios, cursing his name. In anger, Helios rejected the man, and killed his crops for a show of his power. He loved to do things for his people, but when they blamed him for things he had not done, his anger enthralled him. His anger could cause droughts, fires, and kill crops and then lives, and his anger, when lost, was hard to find again. He wished Zeus could take this part of him away, but it showed the powers of the Gods. Helios shook his brain from his past, his moment had been invaded by his past.

She knew more than most, and he could see Zeus gave her the skill of intelligence. It brought him happiness, she wasn’t just another Azerin he’d run into. They shared a similar back ground, and with this he looked back, his scepter glowing more than it had when he arrived. The sun was at it’s peak, giving him a flush of power. He smiled to her, “My dear Metis, you must tell me of past adventures. It is not so often I am blessed to meet a titan. Would you do me the honors?” He was lost in her blue eyes for just a moment, before he flicked his rather long tail. Aphrodite was the Goddess of Love, but she made so many mares that he felt like she was taunting him to find love. He smiled kindly to her, the wind sweeping quietly beneath his wings.

"I do not blame you for not noticing that I am a Titan." Mètis said with a smile. "Unlike my brothers and sisters, I try not to flaunt it." She said truthfully. "And it is a pleasure to meet you as well Helios." She replied. Mètis listened closely as the stallion talked. She found herself slightly taken in by his voice, why was that? Maybe it's because he is a God. She thought to herself as she pulled herself out of it. Even a Titan could fall for a God's powers, although, it was much harder. Then she realized something about this particular one. He was already vastly different from most of the other male Gods. Most would have tried to already woo her, or chase her. A small shiver ran down her spine as she thought of this. She would never allow that to happen.

"Adventures?" Mètis asked herself as she thought. "I suppose I could tell you about when I helped Zeus free his siblings from his fathers stomach?" She asked, not sure if he would be interested in hearing a story about Zeus and how he came to power. "It's a very old story that not many like to listen to." She said sheepishly.

Helios let his body shock, Metis and Zeus, how had he not realized her name before any of this. She was even a Titan, spoken about in the heavens, he shook his head lightly. He was a God, how could he forget one of the many Zeus pursued. The stallions golden eyes shot to the sky, he was loyal to him, how he had not realized had made him seem almost, earthly. He shuttered lightly as he took a small, secret, step away from her. He was in no mood to be struck by lightning, though Hera would more than love to see this happen to him.

He smiled kindly though, "I think Zeus himself had told me this tale. I apoligize for not realizing the importance you had onto the Gods. Metis, you are well known to us. One of the most intelligent Titans known in Olympus." He sighed quietly, a beautiful mare slipping past his hooves. His long tail blew lightly in the wind that started to come. The more he looked at Metis, the more he had realized the familiar face he had seen so may times. They were never introduced, he believed he had always just been passing by.

Mètis instantly noticed his hesitation to be close to her. "What is wrong Sun God? Do I frighten you?" She asked, slightly confused on what was wrong. "Zeus." She said sighing lightly. No one knew of the actual tale of how everything had happened, or if it was even true. However, there was the rumor of how Athena had been born and Mètis's ties to the God king Zeus. She preferred that it stayed a rumor.
"He likes to glorify some details." Mètis said with a light giggle.

She tilted her head slightly. "I'm well known?" She replied. "I am surprised." Mètis said truthfully. After Zeus came into power he turned on the some of the Titans, so it was shocking to know he would allow word to be spread about them. Mètis once again allowed herself to look over the Sun God that stood in front of her. "You are a very handsome God." She said plainly. "It may just be the light within you." Mètis smiled kindly to the stallion. "Are you thirsty?" She turned her head toward the direction of the small waterfall that was near by. "There is water just beyond those trees." Mètis said, returning her gaze to Helios.

The God put on his best charming smile, maybe Zeus had never really been with her, perhaps he lied to enthrall his wife Hera. With a small step he became slightly closer, "No dear, not afraid. I was taking in your beauty." He was not going to admit his fear of being struck down by Zeus to her, he was supposed to be a powerful God. Such small words should not have frightened him so. The stallion raised a brow slightly, "Ah, so Zeus is just a wonderful storyteller than?" Her giggle made him smile, what a sweet soft sound it was. He wanted to get closer, but he kept his distance from her.

The golden stallion nodded, "Though, we have spoken of many titans in the past years. Perhaps that is why yours seemed to not click so fast." Having a sweet tooth for pretty mares seemed to be becoming worse as he looked upon her, even more after she had complimented him. She said it as though it was nothing other than a regular sentence. He chuckled and bowed to her, "Ah, and you are quite the beauty Dear Metis. Aphrodite must be jealous of you." He chose not to answer with words, nodding. He had become quite thirsty. As she looked at him he smiled warmly back to her, hoping to get a flushed face from her at some point today.

Mètis smiled at the God's reply and step foreward. "I'm glad to hear you are not afraid of me. Although, I do believe it is best not to speak so cross about Aphrodite." She said with a large smile. "But thank you for the compliment." With a nod, she began walking in the direction of the watefall with Helios. "I'm afraid I am not as impressionable as the other Titans." He is rather kind for a God... I wonder if he is secretly just like the others? This thought crossed her mind a couple times as they walked. However, he probably was. Something in her longed for him to be different though.

I need to keep my wits about me. She thought, shaking her head lightly. "Zeus is..... Questionable." Mètis laughed. "I can say that not even Athena could guess what his next move would be." She said, looking at Helios. "Where were you heading before you noticed me?" Probably to one of his many mares. She thought, slightly saddened by the idea.

An even wider smile came onto his face, but she seemed only mildly impressed by his charm. This was an odd feeling to him, he was used to easily wooing any mare that came his way. He furrowed his brow, she was one of the most intelligent Titans that he had known of, and could possibly see past others will to woo. He let out a hearty laugh, "She would certainly scorn me for doing so! Ah, Aphrodite. Goddess of love." Helios looked to Metis, his eyes softened. What was it that kept ths mare so strong and closed, she was interesting.

He raised a brow to her, "Oh? Zeus and I were never close..." He laughed, so many of these names were so familiar. He adored how they easily shared a past with the Gods and the stories that they spoke of. He smiled, "I was flying around. I wished to be closer to the sun, it makes me happy!" He paused for a small moment, "The way the sun gives me strength and how the closer I am the more powerful my wings will sweep me across the skies." He flicked his ear, walking quietly besides her. He felt a little ashamed though, speaking of his happiness, he felt as though he was glaoting to her.

A small smile appeard on her face as he talked about the sun. She was right to ask that question because it made the light that was within him flourish. "I like hearing you talk about the sun. When you do, the light in you brightens." She said, looking at him. Mètis was a confusing mare to most, and her actions often a mystery. No one but her could really know what she was up to until it was over. "Aphrodite is a unique one." Mètis replied. "Zeus on the other hand, is more subjective." She nodded. "He doesn't interact with many stallions, unless they have something he has." She said with a side smile. "Or at least that is what I have seen."

Mètis stopped once she reached the edge of the bushes, looking at the watefull that cascaded down the mountain infront of them. "This is it Sun God." She raised her hoof and pointed. She turned to face Helios. "It's a very good place to gather your thoughts. Much like Delphi, without the future being told to you." Mètis said as she turned away from him and walked closer to lake. She loved to come here and stare at the waterfall as it flowed down into the lake before her. Something about it gave her peace and put her memories at ease. "Do not feel bad." She said, noticing some hesitation when he talked about the sun. Mètis wasn't quite sure what was causing his distress, but she wanted to know more.

How he loved the sun, the way it made him feel and how it helped him feel better. Helios smiled, but at night his world was torture. He was weak and un-easy and he had trouble wanting to leave his home. With a hearty laugh he said, “Ah, why thank you. I hope you like my light within.” It was those blue eyes of hers that drew him to her. They weren’t much, but it was how he couldn’t tell what she was hiding behind them. Most had trouble hiding their feelings, their eyes giving away everything that they tried to desperately to hide. He nodded, “She gives the gift of love to others. With such grace…” Helios smiled as she spoke of Zeus, “Ahh, I know little of him. You’ll have to educate me on him another time.”

His eyes followed the waterfall closely, what beauty she had brought him to. He shook his head lightly, “Please, do not be so formal. Call me Helios, my dear.” Her voice was so lovely, and it made him smile, “I hope you don’t mind if I steal your spot for my own some times during the night.” He flicked his ear, taking in what she had said. Helios’s golden eyes became soft, “Ahh, I just wish not to gloat in front of such a wonderful mare. So many God’s haven given us a bad name, many assume we are nothing more than flirtatious heathens.”

Mètis nodded to Helios as he said she would have to educate him on Zeus another time. "It sounds like you admire Aphrodite." She said, looking closely at him. "As for your light, I will have to decide on that another time as well." With that, Mètis allowed her wings to raise up and gently flap in the breeze. The moisture that was in the air felt good on her wings which caused her to close her eyes and lightly smile.

"On the case of the Gods giving most of you a bad name, that would be true." She said as she barely opened her eyes. "Many of them have done terrible things in their lives. In fact, I would go as far to say that most of them have." Mètis replied, looking at him with a cocked head. "I have never heard a rumor of you doing such things though, and by looking at you I would say you are incapable of going to the extent that they did." With a nod she turned her head away from him. "But I do not think you are above flirtations and maybe even a few flings here and there." She said walking further along the lake. "You can take this spot as long and as much as you need." Mètis replied. She turned towards him and smiled a bit bigger then she had before. "I quite enjoy your company."
