Now I always respect what people believe. I am not the type of person to judge, and after reading this I still respect this person. Yet, I read this and well I do admit it pretty much hurts just reading it. I feel like if I'm some abomination or like I have some disease that can be cured? What? I don't know what to say. I was just talking to my friend about homophobic people and then one of his friends posted this. What do you guys think? I'm not hating on this religion or being rude, I do respect every religion but this person just really did hurt my feelings.

Cliche as it may sound, God created man and woman.
But honestly, even before I was Christian I've always felt that it disgusting and immoral.
It's something that's just now been characterized as "normal" when it's never been proven to be more than a disorder.
Nobody's born gay. A person chooses to be gay because of the experiences they have throughout their lifetime.
I don't hate anybody gay. Christians don't hate gays. God does not hate gays.
I guarantee you that if you went to a church, and actually talked to a pastor, you would be able to clear your doubts and questions.
There are 2 guys in my church that were gay and one was a month from getting the "operation" but God had mercy and reached him before he made that mistake.
What does being gay bring you? Isolation, hatred from strangers that don't even know you for you just for saying that you're gay.
Step into a church, you'll have unconditional love no matter what sin you have committed."

Which is what Leviticus is - the Holiness Code that applies to the Jewish People when the Temple is Extant.
Leviticus 18:22 is no longer relevant to our lives. The Ancient Hebrew people did not understand homosexuality like we do today. They had no concept of the monogamous, loving homosexual relationship. It didn't exist in their society like it does in ours. Furthermore, I don't lay with a man like I would a woman, I lay with a man like I would a man. I'm not interested in laying with a woman.
Furthermore, homosexuality is clearly not a choice.

That strikes me an unimaginably rude and hurtful, especially if you weren't even talking to him. People can have their own opinions,but it's kinda rude to give people your opinion if they didn't ask for it. Especially if your opinon is being mean and hateful,but trying to hide it behind religion.

I don't know. It's not really good but I'm not the type of person to fight back, I try to ignore and move on but that was just too hard to ignore. stare I've met people who don't like that I'm bisexual because of their religious views but yet they still respect me. This was the first hurtful thing I've ever read so far.

well this guy i don’t know now annoys me...(so this is more of a message to him)
my mom’s side of the family is catholic so i do go to church, believe in God,etc. but homosexuality is not a sin. there absolutely nothing wrong with 2 people loving each other and i wish this guy could see that...
and where did he get this proof of it being a disorder...that just sounds utterly stupid...
your only going to be isolated and hated by homophobes...
what, does he also believe people should not be their ethnicity because people are racist...

Like, like, like a trend...Does this guy realize that not everyone is Christian or believes in God? (Not meaning to offend, but I just don't see the logic, sorry.) Seriously.... Just because "God made man and woman" doesn't mean anything.
And how is it disgusting? Is love just disgusting to him? When there's a homosexual couple, is just 2 people who love each other... Oh wait, isn't that the same thing as heterosexuality? -___-
You should just tell him this:
"Is it really gonna kill you to let two people who aren't involved in your life get married?" ...You'll just, just fade away.

I love that last line because it's so blatantly untrue. Plenty of churches shun people for perceived sins.
And I really don't understand how people can do this doublethink act and say cruel things about LGBTs and then say "but I don't hate them." It's baffling.

It's baffling. most of the time those people just dont understand us. its not that they hate us, its that they havent been properly educated and only told its wrong. ive got a few friends and family members who arent fans of gays because of their views but they dont hate me and they dont hate the glbt community

I hate it how Christian churches, especially Catholic ones, are getting a bad rep. Not every old, straight Catholic thinks homosexuality or bisexuality are sin. In fact, once we did an exercise at a conformation retreat in groups. Each group listed things they would change if we were the Pope. I wanted to say "acceptance toward different sexualities", but I thought people would look at me funny and think that was a ridiculous thing to ask, so I stuck with something more broad, "acceptance towards differences". Then, when we were done with the exercise, I was surprised to learn the man running the retreat supported gay relationships, because this guy was a SERIOUSLY devouted Catholic, as am I, but I thought it was just a rarity that I supported gay marriage and gay relationships and stuff, but then I realized I'm not the only devoted Catholic who thinks that way.
I think Christianity should drop this whole "homosexuality is sin" act. Jesus said that EVERYONE is welcome to the church and in the arms of God, and officials should stick to that.

My friend (who I'm going to be living with next year...fabulous) did a WHOLE blog post on that single quote in the bible. It made me sick. I personally don't want to be a part of Christianity if this is what I have to believe in.
Like someone said here, that part of the bible is completely irrelevant now. A true Christian would accept the fact that they're gay. "Love thy neighbor as thyself", you know. I could go on and on about my opinions involving religion and homosexuality, but most people would be all like "Tl;dr", hahaha.

OK two things. Before I start I would like to say that I DO realize he said he does not hate gays. Noted.
1) Why the ******** (sorry but seriously) would anyone CHOOSE to be gay? Its like he said, random strangers hate you. And I appreciate the thought, but not all churches are accepting. No one here, as far as I have seen, has ever said that all churches hate gays though. I have been to 3 in my town alone that are great, and there were 2 in the town I lived in before. And the fact that that church stopped someone from getting, as he so delicately put it, the "operation", disgusts me. They don't really have a say. Everyone has a right to voice their opinion, and I know from experience that churches are pretty tightly knit, so he obviously felt close enough to them to take their advice. But the church had no right to stop him.
2) I'm not an atheist, but neither am I particularly religious, so honestly, I don't really care what the bible has to say about my sexual orientation. Its a book, and to me, it is nothing more.
In short, silly silly boy.
