Kakra-maibe swished her tail. She was looking for something to do, while still appearing to be regal about it. The lioness considered hunting, for she was just a tiny bit hungry. However, she'd been told time and time again, that hunting was for lesser lions than the royals. She sighed, running in chase of prey wouldn't be approved. Kakra heard her stomach growl.
Her head gave a shake as she laughed at herself. She was no longer the only daughter to the royal pair. No longer requred to act the princess. Kakra pranced off to go find something to hunt.

Machweo wasn't fond of taking time out of her admiration of the colors of the world in order to hunt, but unfortunately it was something she had to do, lest she starve. Not that she was the best huntress around. In fact, she was far from it, getting easily distracted by the color of a prey animal's fur and forgetting all about actually killing it.
Today was no different - she had been hunting for a while now, and had already lost track of a few hares after getting distracted. You would think that she was old enough not to react like a newborn cub, but Machweo was what she was and never would change. She was crouched int the grass, watching another creature going about its day, when she caught a flash of gold out of the corner of her eye - oh, what was that?
Immediately forgetting her intentions to hunt, the sunset-colored lioness trotted over to the other lioness she had glimpsed. She knew that pelt of gold anywhere, and felt it only polite to offer a greeting in the language that most others spoke.
"Hello."

Kakra had given chase to a couple small animals with no success. Clearly she would have to hone her skills at hunting. Head held high she strode off in search of another target. Only she didn't find a snack item, it was Machweo. She gave a smile and went to greet her. Kakra had admired the pretty coat of the other lioness since they had met.
"Hey. How are you doing?" Her stomach gave a loud rumble and she laughed sheepishly. "Sorry! I'm getting pretty hungry." She had been practicing as she traveled with the group, but mostly she just let the others hunt for her. Maybe she should have paid more attention. "So what brings you out here?"

Machweo smiled in return, grateful for the friendly greeting. Though she was somewhat distant to others, she still appreciated any kindness shown to her, and couldn't help but wonder about it.
"I have been hunting," she said honestly, then looked down - she was feeling more than a little embarrassed that she kept getting distracted. "I've caught nothing." Tilting her head, she looked up at the sky, admiring the bright blue dome that covered the world. "And you?"

Kakra sat down and idally licked her paw. Game seemed so scare to her. Maybe she could get someone else to hunt for her. She chuckled softly to herself as her whims. What she really needed was someone to teach her how to hunt.
The gold lioness looked surprised when Machweo said she'd been hunting to. Kakra gave a laugh, "I haven't had any luck either. Perhaps we could team up?" Lionesses usually hunted in groups right? Well, she thought, maybe we can do the same thing.

Machweo nodded and peered around for a moment before taking a seat away. "It would be much easier to hunt in a pair," she said calmly, twitching her ears as she listened for any sign of movement nearby. "Perhaps the hunt will go better with a partner."
And maybe if what they caught was of a particularly interesting color, she might be able to save a little of the hide to add to her collection. That would be even better than a meal!

She couldn't have been more pleased when Machweo agreed to hunt together. Kakra could hang back and let her do the real work, and she would provide encouragement. Yes, that was pair hunting right? Well that could be worked out later.
"So.... um... after you. Anywhere you think we should go?" There didn't seem to be much in this area that Kakra could see. She hoped Machweo knew of a better place.

Somewhere... to go? Machweo blinked and sat back, tilting hr head at the other lioness. Was this a trick question? She wasn't entirely sure that she knew the answer. She thought for a long moment, willing herself not to be distracted by the shine of the light on the grass, or the particularly interesting color of the insect that was crawling by her tail.
"Somewhere... where there is prey?" she said at last, unsure if that was the kind of answer that Kakra was looking for. It sounded good enough to her, but then she didn't put as much importance on words as others did, so perhaps that was the wrong thing to say.
She just didn't know.

Kakra was surprised by Machweo's confused look. Oh dear. I've forgotten she hasn't been here any longer than I have. What a pickle we're into now. "Um... yes. That's what I meant to say. Sorry. I didn't know if you had a place you liked to hunt." She took a quick breath. "Well since it seems you don't, why don't we just stroll along and see what we come across?"
She stood up with purpose. It looked like she'd have to do the leading here. Kakra started forward, head held high for every critter in the place to see. Her footsteps were loud as she stepped on branches, and leaves. Brown eyes that were suppose to be scanning slowly, were darting rapidly back and forth.

Machweo wasn't the greatest huntress, but she did know that you were supposed to be quiet while you went about it. It was no wonder that the poor golden lioness had seen no prey! Machweo's heart went out to her, and she tried to think of a way to educate her without saying anything - both for her own comfort and for the other's pride.
She decided to start by walking alongside, but a bit ahead of the other female, and taking care where she placed her paws. Perhaps Kakra would notice and imitate her? Machweo hoped so, for otherwise she wasn't quite sure how to help the other lioness.

Kakra found herself affronted when her companion had the nerve to walk ahead of her. No one in her old pride walked ahead of her or her parents. The gold lioness bit her tongue to keep from saying anything; she wasn't a princess anymore. She'd just have to learn like everyone else.
To cover and act if everything was normal, Kakra looked around. Scanning the area for anything the pair could chase. It was just....ugh. She gave a sigh. Why did this have to be so difficult? Her ear twitched as she heard a branch snap under her toes. Often she'd played as a cub on leaves and twigs just to hear them crackle and crack.
It took her a number of steps before she realized that it was only her pawsteps that she was hearing. "Um, Machweo, what are you doing?"

Oh, dear. Machweo wasn't prepared to deal with a deeply offended and slightly confused lioness. After a moment, she moved aside and sat down, tilting here head to the side as she looked at the golden female.
"If prey hears you walk, it will leave," she said quietly, gesturing to the twigs and leaves under the other female's paws. She truly only wanted to help, but she didn't know how to say it without offending Kakra's feelings.

Kakra walked several stepped before she realized her companion had stopped and even sat down. She turned back with a puzzled look. "Are we not going hunting?'
For a moment she puffed out her cheeks, offended that she would dare talk to her like that. Then common sense reasserted itself. Of course, prey would hear the noise and go into hiding. She bowed her head as gracefully as her injured prided allowed her.
"Of course your right. I didn't think about that." Nervously she looked side to side. "Lead on then Machweo?"

Machweo could instantly see that her little recommendation wasn't being received well, though she did acknowledge the other lioness' nod. Still, she couldn't help but feel as though she was pushing her luck with this situation, and she rose to her paws again, shaking her head a little.
"I do not wish to impose... just do all things slowly and quietly, until the prey is still, and then move quickly after it." She looked at the golden female, blinking slowly. "I wish you success. It would be better to take my leave," the sunset lioness said softly, then turned to walk slowly away.
"I.. am sorry I am not more help."
Perhaps she could comfort herself with some of her colors - she had a few things in her collection that were calming to look at.

"Yeah, alright." Kakra responded sulkily. She watched Machweo leave and twitched her tail. Well so much for that idea. The gold lioness stalked somewhat stiff legged in the opposite direction Machweo took. Fine. She'd do it herself. The hunt turned out very frusterating and unsuccessful for Kakra. Head hung in defeat, she made her way back to the pride. Although she knew she'd have to ask someone to teach her it would not be easy for her.
