Athene was out and about again, this time in the Destiny City Park. It wasn’t his first time visiting – it was a place that he’d been to a few times during the daylight hours and he’d even walked across the green surroundings a time or two in the late afternoon. He’d never been out in the park quite as late as this before.
The bronze beads that formed the ends of the long dark jade sash wrapped around his trailed the ground and Athene shivered slightly in the night-time breeze. Maybe it was time to call it a night – traipsing around dressed in what was essentially a t-shirt and shorts get-up made for cold wandering this late into the evening.

It wasn't Benitoite's first time at the park, not this late nor during the day. He'd been here once before in the evening for work related purposes, and tonight was no different. Stepping into the park and finding a nice place to conceal himself the blond changed.
Stepping out of the patch of trees, and shadows, in a riding coat he was glad for the protection from the cool night breeze it offered tonight. Tonight the wind was really strong, and it made him colder than he liked. If it had been a normal breezy night he wouldn't have minded, but as it was it was windy as hell.
With the change came a blip in his senses, a senshi. He'd hoped for a easy night, after the last two fights he'd hoped he wouldn't run into more interruptions while energy hunting. It seemed tonight wouldn't be his lucky night.

After a bit of dithering Athene had finally come to the decision that it was too nippy to stay out when he felt it. It feels like... He frowned slightly to himself. Like energy. Some sort of energy crazy as that sounds. Green enough to not yet get a handle on energy-sensing 101, Athene slowly attempted to move closer to what he thought might be the source of it.
Despite his slow movements, the sounds of the odd twig snapping underfoot suggested a lack of any particular attempt to conceal his approach – Athene hadn’t yet learnt enough to be cautious.

He was green as well but he'd had help with sensing Fluorite and knowing what that felt like and that Eternal was hard to miss the feel of. Thus, he figured what felt like what, at least to him. He was still unsure on Page's, he'd yet to encounter one. Cats he knew, at least the dark one he'd met. Thinking of her he remembered he'd left his window open so she could get in if she had need. His curtains were likely out his window or all twisted about due to the wind.
Benitoite found being quite a bit on the hard side when on pavement, so stuck to grass as he was now. He didn't hear the snapping twig over the sound of the wind as it sent trees rustling and swaying, casting shadows against the paved walk way he was walking along side of. The lamp not ten feet from him lite the general area enough to see some things and cast the shadows that were being cast.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are. I can sense you." Taunting and even a little sing song as he rattled off the cliche line. The wind sending his coat flying about his legs and the collar on one side pressed against his neck. Standing still, waiting.

Just up ahead, somewhere off to his left Athene could make out the glow from one of the lamps dotted around the park. Co-incidentally the weird energy feel seemed to be coming from that direction too.
The senshi hesitated as a voice came from the direction he was heading towards, alerted to the notion that maybe he wasn’t as alone out here as he’d thought, then shrugged to himself. Being not alone wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Another broken twig. “It’s not like I’m hiding.” It was hard for him to tell if his words had carried over the sound of the wind.

Oh, they had carried. Laughing the blond agent stepped toward the senshi's signature and voice. "Come now, had toward the light. Let me see who you are, who is it who haunts the park this evening." He spoke confidently, though he kept his voice from rising too high.
He still did not hear the twig snap as the senshi stepped on it. "Tell me, did you turn your attention on to me with the idea of fighting or stopping me from what I plan to do this evening?" He questioned, casually.

“Why would I fight you?” Athene’s voice was just a touch confused as he took enough steps forward to catch the edge of the glow from the park lamp. “I don’t even know you.” From behind his glasses, his eyes casted around slowly, trying to catch sight of either the voice’s owner or the weird energy feel that had first caught his attention.
The energy feel felt much closer now so it had to be close.

"Isn't that what you senshi do?" Benitoite questioned stepping under the light and leaning against the lamp post calmly. Pale eyes facing toward the voice which had spoken to him. Raising one hand to his hair, brushing the blond locks from his face.
"Or can you not tell what I am?" He questioned, was this person as new as he was and didn't know? What an odd thing...a senshi who didn't know what he was. It wasn't so odd to see one who didn't want to fight him, he'd encountered one such senshi already. "Are you new to being a senshi?" To realizing what they had once been and were again. He really was glad for learning of the whole rebirth thing, it helped things to make sense to him.

Grey eyes blinked as the voice was revealed to be another boy. Athene wasn’t a great judge of age – but the boy looked around the same age as him. “No I don’t know what you are” he admitted to the other’s second question.
'What' Athene thought to himself seemed an odd choice of word to use - he'd have expected a 'who' rather than ‘what'. I'm not sure what or who he is has to do about fighting though.
The thought was not voiced, Athene instead choosing to answer the boy’s third question as he stared wistfully at the long warm-looking coat “I am pretty new I guess." He decided to ask a question of his own "If I may ask– how did you know I’m a senshi?”

"I can sense you, I've encountered a few senshi." Enough to be able to tell the difference between them and a normal person, as well as them and a negaverse agent. "A negaverse agent, that's what I am. I believe most senshi would call me the enemy, like they would any of us." Though he didn't feel like the evil one he'd been told he was.
"Don't worry about not sensing it yet, you will eventually. You'll be able to sense when one of us is near. Just...focus, think of it as a third eye. Another sense, aside from the five you were born with. You'll even be able to sense other senshi, and the cats." He spoke, in a manner which may fit a teacher.
"Tell me, I don't normally ask. But what are you senshi of, what senshi are you?" It wasn't something he remembered every knowing this about another senshi. Maybe he should remember this, for his own notes. For now he had been writing down descriptions and what he could make of each senshi, and opinions on each one.

Actually Athene had heard of the negaverse – although this was the first that he’d come across an actual agent. Not that the boy in front of him had been what he’d been expecting – he’d kind of been expecting someone older – not someone who looked to be about the same age as him albeit in coat that actually fit the evening chill (yes he was totally jealous of the coat).
“I’m Sailor Athene” he responded in answer to the other’s question. “Um, of beads. I’m the senshi of beads and you?” Athene couldn’t see a reason to not to answer the other’s question.

This one was new, green. Newer then he was, or so it seemed. For a moment Benitoite felt bad for wanting to fight this senshi, they seemed clueless. But reminding himself of what this senshi could and would become, of the past actions of this senshi, the blond found himself feeling less guilty. This senshi would eventually become like all the others.
Beads...? Now that was an odd one, not to say he knew what other senshi domains were out there. But beads sounded pretty weak. "Lieutenant Benitoite, no domain." He spoke calmly. Glad for his coat tonight, and the turtle neck, he knew he'd really like his uniform in the fall and maybe even the winter; maybe it wouldn't be warm enough though. It did get pretty cold in Destiny City come winter time, it was the main time he broke out the candles and lite them throughout his bedroom; they managed to raise the temperature to a nice level.
"Your new, this is your first run in with a negaverse agent, isn't it." It wasn't a question, though the other could answer. Stepping toward the other.
"You should give up, turn from the path you walk. Though I doubt you will."

Athene had been about to respond with a polite ‘pleased to meet you’, the sort of usual social nicety when gifted with another’s name, but as the other boy continued to speak he ended up blinking momentarily instead. “You already asked that. I already said I was new” his voice was confused – why bring that up again? What was the big deal?
He took a step back as the other approached, “Who are you to tell me what path I walk.” A mixture of restlessness and curiosity had had him power-up after the events of summer camp. There was trace of slight annoyance in his voice as he added “You don’t know me either.”
Athene knew too little to have made a firm decision on where he stood – having gotten as far as swamp creepies and anything that looks like that equalled bad and he’d puzzle the rest out on his own. He took another step back. Come to think of it, that strange energy feel that had first caught his attention was still here too, stronger than before, Benitoite had said they could sense energy... Was the only person there apart from himself. Is he the source?

"I'm simply surprised, with just how new you are." Everyone, every senshi, he'd met thus far had more experience and knowledge than he did. This was an evening for surprises on his part, and to perhaps make a slight fool of himself by repeating himself.
"Who am I to-..." Shaking his head he smiled lightly as he finally stopped his progression toward the senshi. "Someone who's heard enough to know that the senshi are wrong in their path." Was it confidence or arrogance which colored his tone? Likely arrogance, he had some confidence but it was over shadowed by his arrogance, at least when it came to this. Talk to him about plants and he had confidence in his knowledge.
"Again he had to reason with himself, the guilt seemed to keep returning. That feeling that he should threaten them and give them an out. This one was too new, too clueless and too innocent. But no, they would change. But that Eternal one...she hadn't attacked him. Back and forth he fought with himself before he finally settled it, without thinking, he brought his paintbrush out and launched himself at the senshi. He couldn't let his mind continue to argue itself and let the guilt rise and beat it down again only for it to rise once more. He had to just take action, forget that one odd senshi. Remember the past, remember what the senshi sought to do.

“What you’ve heard?”Athene knew he was parroting the other boy, but honestly he was feeling annoyed at the negaverse lieutenant’s assumptions about paths and whatnots – Athene didn’t have a path – at least not one he’d admit to yet. “Hearing isn’t...” his voice tailed off and his eyes widened as the other produced off all things a paintbrush from goodness only knew where. “Wha.. what are you doing?” Athene tried to move backwards as the other boy started running at him, only to stumble over the long sash tied round his waist.
