 Kanic stretched his legs and stood up. He peeked his head out of the cave and looked around. He saw his siblings off in the distance, but no one was in the immediate area. He was usually the last one to get up anyway, and knew they probably had already started their day. He felt the warn sun, and knew that today woudl be a great day.
Kanic emerged from the cave wondering just what he would do today. He thought about exploring further up the mountain, but decided he wanted to be more lazy, and didnt feel like exerting the muscle power to climb. Suddenly Kanic's 'eye' started darting around. It seemed to be telling him to steer clear of the meadow at the base of the mountain today. And of course, if something, or someone told Kanic to stay away from a certain area, thats the first place Kanic went.
He started down from his cave, and after a few moments, he reached the meadows edge.

 Zayford looked at the new victim coming closer and closer to the stones he charged, they wouldn't hurt him, just startle him or her or whatever it was with that thing flying around. He couldn't wait until he heard the little foals cries of panic. This was his favorite thing to do. Scare or shock horses. He would wait for anyone, then laugh at them. But this foal seemed different, he wondered if this lil foal will be his friend? He liked kids, mostly because they were fun because they would come back for more every other day.
He wondered what the hell that thing was, red thing flying above the foal
started to worry if it was something dangerous. He hid on top of the little hill, where he could see everything. He waited pationitly, craving the lil scared noise the foal would make.

As Kanic aproached the meadows edge he looked around. His 'eye' had been floating around trying to warn him continuosly. "Everythinsg gonna be fine, I can handle anything." Kanic said. "Besides, there isn't nothing out there." Kanic was oblivious to the imp, and the shocking stones, but soon he'd not be able to forget them.
Kanic decided to run out some energy, so he began running and frolicking through the meadow. Every now and again he'd stop and look around to see if anyone was watching. When he didn't see anything he'd go back to his playtime, wondering if anyone would show up. Usually there were foals around during this time of day.
Suddenly Kanic stopped dead in his tracks and let out a big "OUCH!" He could feel slight signs of tears coming, but he had to hold them back. he wanted to prove that he was big and strong. But what was that? As he was running he felt a shock, that more than anything, startled him. He looked around to see if anyone had seen what had happened, and when he felt confident that no one had, he looked down to see a pair of stones.

Zayford laughed hard, not trying to be loud, but the lil foal was really trying to be mature, he couldn't help but laugh his a** off. he kept quiet though, to see if the foal would figure it out, or if he would notice him giggling. This was so worth the wait, his lil wings on his head flapped as he giggled.
But what the hell was that red bat like thing, it bugged him, because he had no clue as to what the hell it was. If it attacked him, would he be strong enough to fight it or get away? It didn't look big, so he decided not to worry, not to mention it had no mouth or claws.
This foal was interesting though, he had never seen a thing like that above him, and he seemed to rule over it, that made Zayford respect him more, even if he was just a lil foal. If he were to be found out, he would really make an effort to try and be friends. I'm sure the lil foal would understand that little pranks were fun.... He hoped.

Kanic studied the stones. they didn't look ordinary, so they must have been some sort of trap. As he investigated a bit, he though he heard some giggling. His thoughts had been confirmed when his 'eye' stopped fluttering and stood scanning the immediate area. Kanic saw nothing, and continued to look at the stones. Just as he put his head back down, his 'eye' started fluttering again, trying to get Kanic's attention. He didnt know what it was trying to tell him, but he knew that he had to be cautious. His 'eye' saw something that he did not.
"Who put these here," Kanic asked, "And why were they trying to hurt me?" Kanic wanted to pick up the stones, but feared another shock. He looked around once more, as his 'eye' continued to get his attention. Then he saw something. Could this little 'thing' be the cause of this horseplay? It didnt look normal, and Kanic had never seen anything like it.
He decided to play along a bit more, so he ignored this weird looking horse, and began to nose at the stones again. Suddenly he let out another loud "OUCH!" Could these stones have more charge in them for a second shock.

Zayford laughed, this was very funny, the bat like thing glowed, it must be that foals minion. He wondered what it could do, could it shoot lasers?? he didn't realize the foal had noticed him, so he shrank down Could it see through that thing? He wondered if the stones could shock again? He didn't think they could, but he has made mistakes before, so he would think it's possible.
He kinda wanted the foal to find him, he needed friends, and this lil guy was very interesting. He hoped it was a guy, he couldn't tell yet, so he just expected to be a guy. He stopped laughing to continue on watching him, if that thing started to shoot lazers, he was ready to run like heck.

Kanic wondered why this new 'thing' hadn't come out yet. maybe it wanted him hurt, but Kanic's sinister plan was rolling through his head. He couldn't wait to see the expression on this jokesters face.
After a few minutes realizing that the second 'shock' was not going to draw the prankster out, he sat down thinking. He nosed at the stones this time, instead of his hooves. Suddenly and even louder yelp came from the foal. "OOOOOOUUUUUCH!" he yelled. It sounded like Kanic was in extreme pain. He fell to the ground and rolled a bit, continuing to let out whimpers of hurt and pain, while his 'eye' continued to flutter around quickly.
Kanic wondered if this time the trickster would actually come to his aide, or at least see if he was ok.

Zayford watched as the foal fall. "OMG!!!" No-one ever fell and had this reaction before. Had he killed the poor foal?? He was nervous, what is that thing, the flying thing going to do to him now?? Should he run and be safe?? Running seemed the good idea, but he couldn't just leave the foal just lay there twitching The foal could be dying, how the hell did he know this would cause this foal to die?
He started towards the foal slowly, very unsure of himself, because the father or mother, or even that flying thing could attack him. Though if he caused this foals death, he wouldn't blame the parents, and running away was pathetic, he had to own up to what he had done, or feel horrible and keep the secret for the rest of his life. He couldn't live with that.
He reached the foal, kicked the stones away and bent down to see if the foals heart stopped. He really hoped he didn't die, but he made his bed, and now he had to lay in it.

Kanic laid in the grass motionless. He heard faint noises that sounded like someone approaching, his eyes slowly closing, but staying at a squint. His chest was barely moving up and down, he looked like he was on his last breath. His 'eye' surprisingly had calmed down and was not fluttering like crazy anymore, although it started staring as soon as the imp progressed closer to Kanic.
As the imp stood over Kanic, Kanics could tell that the imp was concerned. His eyes finally closed all the way, and Kanic stopped his breathing.
After a few moments, Kanic lept up and started flapping his wings, hovering just above the imp, laughing hysterically. As Kanic composted himself, he was able to mutter out the words "It was you, wasn't it? You did this to me, didn't you?" Kanic was still holding back laughter as he asked the new found acquaintance these questions.

Zayfords heart jumped out of his chest. "OH GAWD!!" He sat down watching the foal. "You scared the crap outta me...yea i can charge stones like this up." He shot a few sparks outta one stone. "now that one is charged, I just like to trick people, it's funny to see them jump out surprised." He laughed a little.
He flapped his wings on his head, he wished he could fly, but his wings were way too small, and he was way too heavy. He looked at the red thing flapping around above the foal. "What the hell is that thing?? I have seen plenty of horses, even a harpy, but never any with one of those things." he watched it wearily. "It won't attack me will it?? It kinda looks evil...."

Kanic started laughing again. His plan worked. He drifted down to the ground and rustled his wings. "That was my plan." he giggled. "And those are pretty cool. Where did you get them?" he asked. Kanic was intrigued by the sparks that came from the stone. "By the way, the only shocked me once, the other two times were to make you think I was really hurt!' Kanic snorted.
"Oh, and that. That's my 'eye'" he said. "It wont hurt you. It just flaps around and lets me know when danger might be about. I guess mom gave it to me figuring I'd get myself into trouble a lot. Thats how I knew you were hiding over there." he said, "and at night it glows red."
Kanic thought for a moment about the 'new guy'. He liked the fact that he was a practical joker just like himself. "Oh, and my names Kanic" he finished.

"Oh that's my power, I can create sparks, these stones store a lil electricity, it's an Imp talent." He stood up "So you were acting? You are a good actor kid. Your mom gave you that? I kinda wish I had one, save my butt from getting beaten up after scaring some others. Sometimes I get chased down by others, just glad this one harpy didn't slice me a new one." He noticed that the foals wings looked like they were burned. "Did you singe your wings on some fire? Looks like it would be painful, not that I would know what feathers felt like."
"So, your mom must be someone pretty important to have things like that watching over her children." He pointed out a dozen black rocks. "Those are charged too. It's these kinds of stones that hold the sparks in them. Watch out for them, though, it would be funny if you didn't tell your family about them and they would all get shocked out of nowhere" He laughed. "I would love to see that! But I don't think I could get away with doing that to your family, those eyes would find me even in the best hiding place I'm guessing..."

"Thats pretty cool," Kanic answered, "And yeah, I was just goofin off." He thought that being able to charge stones was pretty fun. he knew that if he was able to do that, he would have done exactly what his new friend did. "You really got me though, do you try to shock all the foals around here?" he asked.
As the conversation progressed, he knew that this kid could be good friends. they could hang out and prank others, and lay to to see their reactions. At that moment kanic's 'eye' starting flitting around, almost as if he knew what Kanic's thoughts were. He was probably trying to tell him that those thoughts were not the best idea, but Kanic didn't really care.
"Oh, I dont think that shocking the family would be such a good idea. They'd probably get really mad. They don't really like when I pull pranks on them." Kanic said. 'and yeah, these 'eyes' have really good vision, they'd know, and mum has a lot of them!"

Zayford smiled. "I try to shock anyone, not just foals, but yea, if I ever see anyone with flying eye things, I'm gonna start running like hell to get away!" I mean, there are some scary people around, I almost got killed a few times, it's not for the weak hearted, that's for sure." He flapped his head wings again, thinking, if he made a friend, especially one so interesting, his life wouldn't be so damn boring.
"I have been moving around, because some of the regulars are getting wiser about the rocks, i might just have to start covering them in wet dirt, and I don't know how that will effect the shock..." he touched the black rock, charged it, then rolled it at Kanic, then started laughing, ready to see the little faker get shocked again.

"Well it sounds like you have fun trying to chock others, and I can imagine that some might not think it to be funny. You should be careful, don't wnat to get hurt to bad." Kanic said. he knew though that he'd put himself in similar situations all the time. "So did you have to learn to do that, or were you born able to do that?" he asked.
Just as he was about to open his mouth again and reply, he saw the new acquaintance charge up the stones again and rolled them his way. Just as the stones got close to his hooves, Kanic once again let out an "OUCH!" He lifted his hoof and shook it a bit, trying to shake away the pain.
Instantly, Kanic's 'eye' began to flutter a lot. Kanic could tell that his 'eye' was now mad at this other horse. "It's ok buddy," he said, trying to calm him down. "He didnt really get me again. He needs to learn to roll them a bit harder in the gras if he thinks he's gonna get me again!" Knowing what the shock felt like, he was prepared for his next moves, in case he got shocked. Kanic decided to use his hoof to kick the stone back, wondering if the shock would effect him at all.
