I love my Celtic Dragon Tarot deck. The card art is very beautiful and colourful which I find helps me to remember the divinatory meanings better.

Agreed, though I would also extend my recommendation to include the Quest Tarot.

If you're more into lots of variable symbolism and lots of story and have a love dragons, the Dragons Tarot is a good one. I love the art and the four different cultures and tales woven throughout the suits. Probably not a good beginner's deck though.

A deck where you can connect to the beings in the deck. If you like a specific art style and you see that in a deck, it's a really good idea to get that one- Because you won't bond with the deck nearly as much or look for extra meanings in the card.

I use a mermaid deck- does wonderful and accurate readings.
Tried a few different decks, including a feng Shui and a fairy deck- Just wasn't for me in the end.

If you can, shuffle through the cards, try to get a feeling for the cards, see what makes you feel like it has good energy. Even if a deck has beautiful art, if it doesn't feel right to you, then it won't be right. I got my first deck from a friend who gave me an option of three of her old ones if one stood out. She thought I'd for sure go with the dragon deck, but her Pagan Tarot deck stood out to me much more so I went with that one because it felt better.

I agree; I think the best thing to do would be to go to a bookstore or new age shop with a wide selection and just pass your hands over them to feel which deck calls to you.

I personally own The Heart of Faerie Oracle Deck, The Druid Plant Oracle Deck and The Wolf Pack Deck. All wonderful and have yet to fail me. :]

Well! Interesting to see this, as I just went through the hunt for a new Tarot myself.

I finally settled on Robin Wood's Tarot Deck (Robin is a friend and I happen to love the artwork on the deck.)

But, my recommendation (if you can't handle them in person, since that's the best!) is Aeclectic Tarot.

This page has just about every deck on the market and some which haven't even made it to the market yet! I'm sure you can find one which fits your Pantheon, path, or personal preference there.
