╫Background Information╫
Aja has gotten use to be overlooked, spoken over, and underestimated. As the 3rd child out of 5, blocked on both sides with brains, beauty, youth, and humor. It was easy for her to simply vanish. When she was younger she was spoon-fed her duties and ideals along with her siblings. Told to trust no other bloodlines, but their own. That their great, great, great, great grandmother, the last great Queen of their people, had been betrayed by those who she had thought were allies and had been wrongly accused. That she didn't merely have to achieve excellence to prove her noble line. She had to be excellence. Everyday in some way, her mother would rattle this speech off to her and her siblings. And Aja ate it up.
But as her youthful mind grew older, she began to wonder why for all those speeches about their grandness and responsibilities, were they still simple nobles. Everyday she would trained in order to use her bloodline's noble abilities, but at night she would hear the slaves insult her bloodline's powers. She threw her trust, as did her siblings, into their mother's words, using them as a foundation to motivate herself. So confident was she that she could prove the small voice in her head wrong she volunteered to journey with her father on his yearly merchant travels. During those 5 months beyond the walls of her family's town she saw just how little of those speeches were true. Upon return, she was awash with anger, disappointment and sadness.
She had been lied to, worst no one seemed to believe her when she told them. No matter what kind of evidence she gathered, all her siblings just laughed at her, teasing and turning her into the butt of jokes. They claimed she was simply jealous of their good fortune and blessings. That she was merely insecure and stupid enough to allow the words of lesser bloodlines sway her.
After one huge outbreak during a family dinner which was she teased and scolded for later, Aja decided to run away. That night, she left. For weeks her family poured money and time into finding her, not so much for her, but to keep the news from reaching other noble's ears. Finally by the end of the eight weeks just when they had began to lose hope of keeping the situation under control or finding her, when she returned. There were the normal false hugs and "welcome home"'s; she peppered with questions and long winded speeches for months after. Yet she told no one of her travels or why she had returned. She simply slipped back into her original place of being the underestimated, over looked, and quiet noble daughter. Though now, she has a slight smile on. Almost as if she knows a very good joke.
