((I don't know if you want them to know each other or not, it's your choice.))
Feuer was not known for having an easy life, though she wasn't one to complain. No, she knew people were self centered and judged by appearance, always had since she was just a small kit and thrown out by her "beloved" mother. It didn't matter much to her, well it did, but Feuer only found herself thinking of it if she happened to see herself, which she rarely did. In the mountains it was hard to find reflective objects, and she rarely needed to drink.
Her flames trailed behind her as she explored the rocky terrain, even though she knew the area. She knew once she climbed over the hill she'd see a backdrop of trees, and the mountain still it's same rocky terrain. However, it was one of the few things that kept Feuer calm. She was an active fox, however had gone to the mountains to both avoid foxes, and train herself. Foxes meant that same stare, that same frightened scent, and that same judgment. Feuer was not one to want to torture herself so.

Wow....it's so quiet and peaceful out here.... Ratri had been separated from his family for a while now, but he still relished in his solitude. The mountains were where he was right now, and he really hadn't run into any foxes for quite a while. He was sure he was due for an encounter soon, but he wasn't going to rush towards anywhere populated.
As he sniffed his was about the rocky terrain, he got the feeling he was being watched. Sure, it was probably just some bird or squirrel, but he made sure to keep his ears wide open in case it was something much more predatory. He never really settled in anywhere himself, but he didn't like to piss off foxes as a hobby. He just hoped it wasn't some big mountain cat...

Feuer heard noises, smelled a fox. Even though she was covered in flames she could smell. Her flames were wild, spreading from her body. However, she drew them closer, an effort that required her to focus, though when they snapped closer to her body she could forget them. She slipped over a rock, looking for what she smelled. Dinner? She hoped so, it was hard to find food in the mountains. What she spotted was another fox. She didn't move for him, she knew better. Often people screamed and ran when they saw a ball of fire shaped like a fox moving to them.
Instead, she flopped onto her stomach and watched. It was strange seeing a normal fox. She wondered sometimes what she looked like under her flames, if she was bright green or yellow or black. All she knew was that, judging by the green hue around her eyes, that she had green eyes.

Ratri's back fur kept twitching, an irritating sign that it was definitely a fox watching him and not some mountain cat. He knew he couldn't keep pretending he didn't sense the other fox for too long, he may wind up seeming incompetent. Besides, he was certain it had gotten at least a little brighter, so now was as good a time as any to search the landscape.
He started by scanning the bushes nearby, slowly working his way around and up until he spotted some rocks and boulders above him. Maybe up there..... He backed up towards the treeline until his tail almost touched a tree. Well, nothing up there, but the sun looks..... He twitched slightly when he realized the sun was right above him, and couldn't possibly be over above those rocks. But that meant......
"He-hello? A-am I hallucinating?" She looked like she was actually ON FIRE. But that was impossible....right?

She heard the voice of a fox, tail flicking, leaving a trail of fire licking the air before vanishing. Carefully, she stretched and leapt from the rock towards the voice. She landed on all fours, flames sputtering for a brief second before she looked at the voice. It was a male, and a dark colored one. She was disappointed, what was she expecting? A fox like her? As far as she knew, there wasn't any.
"Why? Did you eat some shrooms or something?" She asked sarcastically, perhaps a little unnerved when he mentioned seeing things. Was she really so weird? Probably. She made sure to give the male room, not wanting to frighten him off. Perhaps she did want some company, she was a fox after all.

He just stared in amazement as the female made her way down the rock pile towards him. She really was on fire! Still, it was impossible. It took him a minute or so to catch his breath, and another to realize she had spoken to him.
"A-Uh...no? No, I don't think so. It's just that, well.......you are ON FIRE. Are you okay, is that hurting you?" He could feel his heart start to race and focused on steadying himself. He was glad the female had stopped farther away, he didn't think he'd be alright if those flames touched him. He probably should have drank some more water at the last area he'd found, he still wasn't sure that he wasn't hallucinating. Maybe he had heat stroke or something. "You are real, right?"

Feuer watched the male, unsure what to say or even do. He was staring, and while she was used to this she wasn't used to the way he didn't run from her. She looked at him, tilting her head. She blinked at his question, laughing.
"Hurt? No no no! It doesn't hurt. You're the first to ask that." She shook her head, laughing once more. She blinked at him, raising an eyebrow. "I'm real. You know, I can't burn you with my flames this low. It's like a 'Daevas flames, they only hurt if the user wants them to." She eyed him, as much as she could, flicking her tail to the side.
"To me, you are the weird one. So I suppose we're on the same boat."

Ratri shook his head, trying to clear the sudden fog that had seemed to come over him all of a sudden. Is this what fainting feels like? he thought. That'd be real bad... To try and help himself, he plopped his butt down on the ground. Thankfully, this helped and his head had cleared enough for him to hear the strange female speak again.
His jaw dropped when she said she thought he was the weird one. "I-ah-buhh....." He stopped and cleared his throat before trying to speak again. "I'm sorry if this may be a bit blunt, but as far as weirdness goes, I believe you win the top prize. You have 'Daeva flames, but somehow aren't one? And not just that, they cover your whole body!" He could feel his head start to reel again, so he took a few deep breaths to steady himself. "What I mean to say is, you are one unusual vixen....."

Her tongue clicked, annoyed. There he went, another person calling her weird. She flicked her tail quickly, her flames raising more. She clawed her paws into the ground, jerking her head away from him. He was like all the other men and women she had met, people who judged her by her looks and called her weird.
"Yeah well, so? Why does it matter? I'm just like you underneath, pretty sure bleach white since flames take color from things it burns. Still, I can even lower it enough to be "safe", and maybe one day I could, I dunno', make them go away. Right now? Guess I'm some "weirdo"." Her annoyance and hurt was thick in her voice, head snapping to the other side now.
"By the way, call me Feuer."

Ratri flinched back a bit when the female's flames rose up. Her next sentence made him realize that perhaps he shouldn't have done that. She seemed pretty offended by his statements. But....he was just telling the truth. Subtlety had never been a talent of his.
"I guess it doesn't really... I mean, I'm sure you could've killed me by now if you really wanted to, so even though you're" He paused, searching his mind for the right word. "Unique for a vixen, at least you're nicer than some other psychos I've stumbled upon."
He felt much steadier now, the fog had gone from his eyes and his head felt stable again. He dared to stand up and stepped closer to the strange vixen. "Well it's a pleasure to meet you Feuer, I am Ratri and I most certainly don't think you're 'Just some weirdo'."

As he came closer her head raised, eyes watching him. She almost moved away for a second, as if he'd hurt her. Then she realized he couldn't hurt her. Hmpf. Unique. Just another word to say weird. She once again opened her mouth to snap at him when she realized that he had told her she wasn't just some weirdo.
......
Giving him a steady stare, the green eyes that were hidden under flames narrowed, head tilting slightly to the side. She lowered her flames, moving her paws under her head and resting her head down. "Ratri." She confirmed, glancing up at him, ears flicking back. "I guess it is somewhat a pleasure to meet someone who isn't screaming bloody murder after seeing me."

Ratri sat down in front of Feuer, glad to see that she was relaxed enough to lie down in his presence. Then again, he probably wasn't much of a threat to begin with. He chuckled a bit at her response. "I never have been one to run from an interesting conversation, and this definitely counts as one!" He smiled at her before losing himself in thought.
"So...do you have any idea how this happened? I mean, were you born like this or did you cross a 'Daeva's path?" He hoped he didn't sound too rude, perhaps it was too soon for him to be asking these types of questions. But maybe there was a way to turn her flames off. That is, if she wanted to.

She shrugged. "One parent was a 'Daeva, another a normal." Flicking her tail, she grumbled slightly as she folded her paws. "Mom felt heat in her belly, and asked a Shaman what it was about." Pause, a deep breath was taken. "When I was born I had flames on my ankles, like a 'Daeva. But obviously I'm not one."
Cue flicking her tail, now in annoyance. "One day, my mom just abandoned me. I was in the forest, alone, and a creature attacked me. I grew so afraid my flames burst. Ever since then, well, they engulfed my whole body."

Well....that hadn't been the answer he'd expected. From everything he'd heard, 'Daevas and normals didn't exactly get along. The thought of them mating had never even crossed his mind, even before now. He kinda thought it was like a squirrel and a chipmunk, sorta looked the same but never mingled.
"Wow, well that's....that...that sucks actually. What a crappy mom! Leaving her own kit defenseless in the middle of a forest!? I mean, come on. At least go back to the Shaman!" He was babbling now, but that was because even he'd never consider that. You took care of what you made, be it a home or a kit. "Have you seen the Shaman since? Maybe he knows a way to control your flames even more? Maybe you could even get them back down to your ankles!" He finally stopped talking, blushing a bit for losing control of his mouth like that. "I-I mean, that is if you'd ever want to. I just met you, so really I suppose it's not my business".

A low laugh escaped her, head shaking. "I went back." She confirmed, a smile under her flames. "He had no idea what to do with me." She laughed again, tail flicking back and forth. "He taught me to lower them to my body, but not to my ankles. Who knows. Perhaps I could make them go away in time."
Her eyes glanced at Ratri, amused at this point. "Besides, he's dead now. And whether my mom was a bad mom or not, it doesn't matter anymore. I stopped being her daughter when she abandoned me." With a yawn, the vixen rolled onto her side.
"Though, we know all about myself. Where do you come from?"
