A Private RP between{Rhian [Redbud-Tree]} and {Elst & Aoi, as well as Josev & Feodor [Roots of the Cosmos]}. Perhaps {[Graficcha] might join in, with the lovely Timka and new addition, Romeo?}

Location: Elst’s Nursery
Time: Early/Mid-Afternoon.
Weather: It’s been a warm day, now beginning to cool on down for the evening ahead.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 31, 2011 2:27 pm

The Elysian Gardens nursery was in its usual state – one of, well, peaceful green-ness. There was just the slightest bit of cloud cover as the sun lazily made progress towards the end of the sky. This made for rather ideal weather if one was planning a picnic, or perhaps a simple outdoor lunch; fortunately, that was exactly what Elst had planned. Josev, with Feodor in tow, was due to visit and spend some time with his good friends, and Aoi particularly looked forward to seeing little Feodor again.

Elst, as he often was, was busily cooking, making little sandwiches and other things he thought Josev might like, not to mention making sure grapes and beef jerky were available for Feodor, as well as his spider half’s tastes. It was a relaxing Sunday afternoon, and the nursery was closed for the occasion. Now, to select a wine or two, hmmm…

Aoi was resting in the branches of the trees deep in the nursery’s property, rather at one with nature, so to speak. Quite Zen, he seemed, serenely lying amongst the leaves.

Timka, meanwhile, was presumably keeping busy with the even-littler Romeo, a not-widely-publicized son of the two, having preferred to be mellow about the occasion, living quietly with the littlest-one for now.

It had been a long time since she had last been here. Actually, it had been a long time since she'd seen any member of her family, save for perhaps a few minutes back at Rahk and Ro's birthday some time ago. Even her trips back to Ellandra had been fleeting, and rushed - it was almost strange to be here, standing near the entrance to the Elysian Gardens, as if time and distance hadn't come between her and everyone she'd known for far too long.

Rhian sighed softly, and adjusted the hood of the simple gray traveling cloak that she wore. It was concealing, though she wasn't quite so visibly an Essentic any more, not since she'd grown. Not that being an Essentic was the only thing she needed to conceal during her journey - the cloak afforded a little extra safety and insulation, both from prying eyes and from inclement weather.

She was here, nearly at her second home, so close that the Essence that the pace was soaked in nearly smothered her in its presence. She knew that as soon as she had drawn close, Aoi had likely sensed her, but for some reason she just couldn't bring herself to enter the Gardens, even though it felt like she was being pulled there on an invisible cord.

Rhian couldn't bring herself to break the peace of this place, but neither could she turn and leave again after having come so far. So instead she just stood there, paralyzed, waiting for something to tip the scales of her decision in one direction or the other.

Another had been on his way here for a while now as well, and much more purposefully as well. Why, the upcoming rare visit of what he could by now consider an uncle of the family of sorts, the bunny sure as fifteen cupcakes wouldn't miss.

Ever since miss Longway had temporarily resigned her post at the office, he'd been coming in solo everyday, working nights and days through, tirelessly, even learning a few sleights of hand in the art that was 'playing secretary'. Together with Vin, spending hours with Timka's filing system had been quite fun, actually, and for both of them it had been a new experience. Learning something new, something neither was 'made' for, like a normal human being...

Yes, Misha was doing quite well, independent, healthy and in good spirits. His day wasn't done getting better just yet, when he felt his sister at the gates before he even saw her.

Containing a burst of excitement when he noticed how quietly and prone she stood there, he approached calmly, and called her name when he was close enough to not have to shout.

"Hey, Rhian. What brings you here? Want to come in?" he greeted her with his warmest smile, nudged a shoulder at the gardens. What are you waiting for, sis, let's go and talk, hmm? Once inside the gates, where he could lead her to the house in peace, they could at least have a chat without being overheard, just like old times.
"Been forever since I last saw you, how HAVE you been?"

A ping had shown up on more than just Misha’s radar, upon Rhian’s arrival. Aoi sat up, unable to hold back a smile as he felt his sister’s presence at the gates. As he was about to get up, however, he felt another, sunnier presence – ah, Misha had gotten there first, not surprisingly. So our dear rabbity one can escort her in, that’ll be nice, he’s a nice person to be greeted by after all. Aoi calmly hopped down from his branch, wearing a loose long-sleeve shirt and similar slacks, a simple green and brown, respectively. Long ago, he wore a blindfold, so as to develop a new sense and thrive on it alone – he’d long ago unlocked it, and taken it off, now wearing its materials as a scarf, but he still kept his sight locked away. He had learned well how to suppress his sight, even with his eyes open, and as a result, his newer sense grew ever stronger. He took on a relaxed, though certainly not slow pace. He didn’t want to delay the reunion after all.

Elst would be quite oblivious to the arrival until she stared him in the face, and as such he continued his lunch-central focus.

Josev and Feodor, a small ways away, were quite well on their way. He had chosen to drive for this occasion, and Feodor knitted nervously in the back seat. He was getting better, but worry still got the best of him at times. That is to say, most of the time.

Rhian wasn't a bit surprised that Misha had approached her - not here, not at this place. She was, however, nonetheless a bit startled when he broke the silence that she had been standing in. It had been a great while since she had spoken overmuch to others, so the sound of his voice made her jump a bit. Nevertheless, she smiled a little and lifted a hand in greeting.

"Hello, Misha; it has been... a while, hasn't it?" Time had never been something Rhian was good with, but she did know that it had been a great while, some months and even seasons since she had seen much of those she cared so deeply for. "I've been... okay, I suppose. Traveling," she said, aware that her speech was a little stilted, but not quite sure how to fix it, not without a great deal of conversation.

Perhaps it was time to stop traveling, at least for a little while. She no longer had a good reason to leave, so into the garden she went, pulling her worn cloak about her shoulders, a tiny smile on her face. It was a good feeling, walking into this place. The feeling of coming home.

"You've been far away, hmm, haven't you, sis?" Misha strode alongside her, adjusting his pace to not force her to speed up. Oh, he'd kept track of her, with a part of him, always ready to go find her if anyone needed to relay her a message. It felt indescribably warm in him to have her near again, but the sensation of Aoi breezing towards them wasn't unwelcome either. Upon noticing the floramancer making his steady way over to them, he gave a cheerful high wave and beckoned him over.

Why, when exactly had they gone from a bunch of teens to looking like college graduates? Time moves so quickly...

Inside the house, the actual college graduate in management was busy managing her littlest squirt who had his senses set on using every tethered anchoring point two feet high to try and stand up with. It looked like it wouldn't take long before he got the trick down...

Aoi offered the widest smile he could manage as he headed towards his little sister…though she wasn’t as little as she used to be, was she…He moved immediately for them both. ”Sis…it’s so good to see you again… He offered his sibling a warm hug, a nice welcoming gesture. He had been worried about her, how she had been while she was away, but at least now he could know she was safe.

Josev was soon pulling up to a secluded little side gate into the nursery, made for the passage of cars, and in little time he was parked and headed for the family’s home.

Rhian nodded in response to Misha's question-statement, but didn't provide a verbal answer. She had, indeed, been very far away, and for a very long time at that. She smiled a little at both of her 'brothers', and hugged Aoi in return, but for the most part she remained quiet, and perhaps even a little distant.

This was probably strange to Aoi and Misha, and to be quite honest it was strange to her as well - she was a Social, after all, and she was not meant to be distant from anyone, let alone those she considered her family. Nevertheless, she was holding herself back a bit, perhaps because of learned restraint, and perhaps because it had simply been so long since she had been around them.

As they walked, the hood of her cloak fell, and she didn't bother replacing it. There wasn't a point, not when she would likely be taking it off sooner or later anyway. Sooner or later she would be able to relax fully - she couldn't possibly stay so rigid, not in her second home.

Like Rhian had learned restraint, Misha had also become used to the idea that sometimes people could be subdued and be just fine. Aoi still had his moods, and to see Rhian like this made him curious to hear what she'd been up to, but he was in no rush to drag it out of her as if anyone's life depended on it. She'd changed, but change wasn't always a bad thing, as she wasn't giving off any sort of upset vibes, so the bunny was quite content to stroll along the walkway quietly like that.
If anything, he could empathise with her need to first settle down a little, since he was no stranger to long lonely journeys. Hmm, maybe she'd like to see 'grandpa Vin-Vin' again sometime soon? Those two'd now spent a long time outside of their comfort zone and both appeared to have gotten past it alright?

His musings were interrupted when he became aware of the main guests arriving, and incase Aoi had been off daydreaming a little too much, Misha gave him a brief nudge and quirked his head towards the gates. Yer kiddo's here, bro, heehee~ He did wonder how Feodor had been lately. Maybe he too had learned to overcome his limits a little better by now? Poor thing wouldn't have much fun in life if he remained so anxious, ey.

Aoi smiled at the nudge, nodding in acknowledgement that yes, they’re here… ”Why don’t you both head in…I’ll greet our guests.” He looked towards Rhian. You’ve got good timing, you know, just in time for lunch." With another well-rounded smile to his younger sister, he then headed off, allowing Misha to lead her inside. He make quick work of getting to the other gates, meeting Josev as he exited the vehicle, and scooping up the little one before the shy arachnid could scurry off. “Hey there…” There was clear affection in his voice as he gently held Feodor in his arms, carrying him as he lead Josev to the house. “A good afternoon to you, Aoi…”
“Couldn’t get much better than this…the same to you.”

Elst meanwhile was finally aware of at least two of their guests, having hears a small bell go off that was wired to the side gate. He quickly cleaned up his preparation.

Rhian nodded, still smiling - it would be nice to head in and find somewhere to sit down for a little while. What she really needed, and she knew this all too well, was a rest. Not just a short stop for a few minutes before going on again, but a true res, time to relax and catch up, and bask in the comfort that was her family. She had learned a lot from her travels, but what good was that learning if she couldn't share it with anyone?

She could sense another Essentic on the premises - most likely Aoi and Orpheus' little proto... and. Wait. Was that another Essence nearing the gardens? One that was all too familiar at that?

Oh no.

Please, no.

---

Meanwhile, a not-so-subtle proto was indeed approaching the property. Kel had known that Feodor and Josev were leaving, and the large, awkwardly-floating proto had wanted to come along. Unfortunately, Kel lacked the sense to ask to ride in the car, and instead tried to sneak after the pair.

Where were they all going?

My, this place was interesting. What were all of these flowers? Perhaps Aisling and Riley would like some! Certainly that would justify the trip! Kel peeked out of the hole in the front of the cardboard box, unaware that a large, moving box was about as subtle as a clown at a funeral.

A split-second before Rhian Misha became aware of the Proto's presence, and without a comment he darted off towards the gates. Aoi could be left to tend to Feodor, those two got along alright and the little guy could use the comfort, but this other 'problem case' needed an immediate checking-out as well.

Trust the messenger to be quick and efficient about it. Not a word said, he rounded past the car, flipped the box-and-proto around and carried the mess inside the safe perimeter quickly. A quick glance around the street told him nobody in particular had been watching, so he'd go out on a limb and conclude they'd been lucky and nobody had detected the foolish squirt.
Belatedly noticing Rhian's alarmed look he brought the Proto-in-a-box to her, put it down and only then allowed, and helped the fella to wiggle out of it back to whatever limbs he preferred to use.
"So what's this all about, ey?" he couldn't help asking, with a slight chiding edge. Aw Kel, you had'm worried for a second there. Don't to that to bunny-hearts, they're quite stress-sensitive, phooey.
"Did you sneak all the way here by yourself?" To downplay how serious he sounded, he gave Kel a pat on the head, before he upset him or anything.

Not that it'd ever been easy to upset his father, either.

Inside, unaware of any extra fusses, Timka responded to the little bell as well by catching Romeo when his focus -and balance- shifted towards the tingly noise and putting him into his makeshift pen for now. He didn't look very pleased by that, but was thankfully distracted by the sunlight playing in the rainbow-coloured glass trinket-beads overhead when his mother gave them a nudge. As usual, the red flower perched on his temple bloomed open slightly at the sight.
Oooooo~

Aoi was quite caught up in all the minds he sensed everywhere now, that newest one wasn’t so familiar, but Misha was on top of things as usual, so yes, let us head in everybody…

He lead everyone in, finally, at least everyone that he could, and ooh, that’s an odd proto there…he decided the best action to take was to let Josev do as he pleased so the formerly-petaled Essentic could go inform his dad of the new situation.

Elst, of course, immediately got rather busy, yes, must avert the tragedy of too few sandwiches…

Josev calmly waded through the newly formed crowd and made greetings with the hostess. Feodor seemed rather cozy in Aoi's arms, for the moment, cautiously resuming his knitting.

Rhian was not surprised, though she was greatly displeased, to see that the errant proto Misha had brought over was indeed Kel. Well, if she had ever doubted that the silly thing was a product of herself and Lauss, she had all the proof she would ever need. She shook her head and knelt beside Kel as he got himself situated, and looked up at Misha with a shrug. "No-one noticed, did they?" she asked, before frowning at the large proto.

"Was I this silly as a proto?"

She wasn't sure that she wanted to know the answer.

Meanwhile, Kel blinked guilelessy at Misha and tilted his head, his expression curious. "Feodor left. I wanted to follow," the large and strange proto said, before floating upwards to get a better look at the gardens. "Where is this? There is much more space here than where I stay. There are so many flowers."

Kel seemed to have absolutely no guilt and minimal understanding of the danger inherent in going anywhere as poorly concealed as he had been.
