The detective had hundreds of names. The public knew him as L. The officers of the NPA had known him as Merlin_P._Davis. But with them out of the picture, the two shinigami were finally able to meet with him and steal his true name: Scott Pilgrim.

L was well respected in the community. It was time for Kira's final move in their chess match - the move that would end it all. He wrote the longest entry he'd ever done in the Sniper Game Death Note.

That evening, L appeared as his true self on television. The folks at the news station - Sakura TV, incidentally - were more than willing to record his words.

His final words, that is. His eyes were unreadable as he spoke in a monotone. But for L, no one was particularly surprised by this. Detectives sure are weird.

"Ladies and gentlemen - I, Merlin_P._Davis, am L. I come before you today to tell you that I was wrong. I was wrong to pursue Kira. I've met him now, and it has become clear to me that everything he did was for a purpose. Kira was not wrong - it was all of you that are wrong! The Sniper Game is rotten, and it needed to be fixed. In fact, what Kira has been doing is justice, pure and simple. We must all embrace Kira as our new God and savior. Only then can this world become a Utopia. I have committed a great sin against this God, and so it is time for me to die. But the rest of you can be forgiven. You must all stop trying to jail Kira. Accept him into your hearts and you will be saved! With that, I go."

With that, he unsheathed his Power of Love sword, and committed Harakiri. The Sakura TV staff scrambled to get it cleaned up and their cameras off.

Kira had just been trolling. But as it turned out, the Sniper Gamers were enormous sheep. They DID accept him as their God, and the shinigami as his holy messengers. With this flock, they formed a new religion. A religion based on the bloodiest justice possible. The very nature of the game had changed, but what they didn't realize was that Kira could only kill Sniper Gamers. As soon as they pronounced him God, he had won, and his Sniper Game Death Note held no power over them. He constantly fretted that one day they would realize this, and the Church of Kira would be disbanded. But then, one day, he met with a certain creature.... It seemed to have descended explicitly to meet with him.



"James Bond, you are a very interesting human," the REAL Shinigami said. "I'm impressed with what you have done with only a taste of my power. How would you like the real stuff?"

With that, the Shinigami held out another black notebook. This one simply said, "Death Note." The rules were as follows:

Kira looked up at the Shinigami. "With this, I can kill any human? Not just Sniper Gamers?"

"That's right."

buzzkid24 smiled.

"I'll take it!"

aaaah, hahahahaha, yeah! That pretty much sums up my experience. lol As well as having a chuckle whenever someone made a not-so-subtle reference to each other's real names in the discussion. I was jealous of the players of the game too, because I had to keep my mouth shut about everything!!

Anyway, you were a great Kira! I knew I wouldn't have to dumb down my rules for this crowd. cool After all, I created them with the intent to force people to talk to each other and strategize! Class act.

I was always slightly worried about it, because I realized there were a lot of loose ends in my rules, and I had been going about it "Well, geez, if THIS or THIS happened it would be trouble, but they'll just have to make it work!!" Because I wanted this to be a game that really pitted everyone against each other. And that's what I got out of it! It made me really happy. crying

Real names were probably my favorite part of this, I had a lot of fun compiling the real names randomizer list, and your name... well, I had just watched the movie it's from before I made the list, and I liked it because it was so obscure, and yet so NOT obscure. I thought it would make someone smile if they googled it!! whee
