Game: Haiku When: NOW until 6:00 pm PST August 12th Essence: Pine Oil: Rain
Everyone knows what the rich smell of pine is like, as well as the musky but thick scent of rain. Together, the scents are quite strong! I want you to write a haiku about how the scents - individual or together - make you react. You can write about their smell, what it reminds you of, how it makes you feel, a fond memory, a silly diddy -- it's up to you. You can enter up to three times, separate or all in one go. Quality over quantity!
If you need help, reference this web site. Incorrect haiku's will not be considered. If you need more help, just ask!

Heavy laden breath Refreshing smell of spring time My heart sings for joy
Spring whispers of rain Needles swaying in the wind Makes me want to sleep
Calm comes after storms Leaves sway with the added weight Dew drops make me smile

Through the thawing earth spring rain brings forth new pine sprouts-- a phantom scent.
If you could love me in this autumn weather, meet in the sweet pine grove.
Pine dampened by rain-- your old shirt under my head, I dream of goodbyes.

I sit on the slope, Surrounded by ancient pines, Mind swept blank by rain.

Torrential rains come, bagworms take refuge in pine. I feel safe inside.

Crisp Oregon rain Valley life gives us our strength New evergreen trails Water pours from clouds Girls giggle into the night They drown out the storm
The shoot breaks the earth I wait for the ascension a taste of fresh mint

Unlocked by the scent, Visions of lost woods in dew, Quell chaos within.
Tranquil yet my heart, Earth and sky clash to ignite, Songs of olden days.
Emerald needles, The sweet aroma of rain, Tickle the senses.

Wind scattered needles, Sticky, blanketing the ground, Do not roll in it.
A deluge soaking, Terrifying beautiful, Wash the world away.
Trees sway, rainclouds loom, Beginnings of a battle, All bow to the storm.
