Battling is what bots were built to do. All battles take place here in the battle forum. Don't know how to battle? Don't sweat! This hand All-in-one guide will answer all of your battling questions.

Before you can battle, there is some minor setup that you'll need to do first. You'll have to head over to your bot's profile (If you don't have one already you should make one!) and make a battle log post. The battle log post should be on the first page of the profile and it should be clearly labeled. The battle log post should contain the following information:

User ImageA link to each of the bot's previous battles
User ImageNumber of Wins and Losses
User ImageAny spoils won from battling

When your bot finishes a battle, make sure to log it in your battle log on your bot profile.
After you've set up the battle log you're ready to start fighting.

Attack and Hitpoints: Battles are determined by your bot's Attack and Hitpoints, which are it's only two stats. Here's the basics of each.

Attack: To attack, you must use the random number generator to generate a number within your attack range

User ImageAll bots attack range is 20-30
User ImageIf you roll a 20, you miss and your attack does no damage.
User ImageIf you roll a 30, you deal double damage (a 60 hit)

Hitpoints: Hitpoints determine how much life your bot has, when your bot reaches zero hitpoints, it loses the battle.

User ImageEach time the opponent rolls a number (other than 20) that number is subtracted from your bot's hitpoints.
User ImageThe base amount of hitpoints for each type of bot is as follows:

          - Normal: 200
          - Limited Edition: 205
          - Rare: 210
          - Ultra-Rare: 215
          - Legendary: 220

Your bot's type can be found on it's cert.

Each Battle thread is made in the Battle Dome Section of the Rocket! Guild. Each thread should be formatted in a specific way.

User Image
Your thread should be titled [USERNAME 1] VS. [USERNAME 2] you can also include the names of your bots in the title if you wish.

After a battle is finished you should go back and edit the title to say who won. It should look like this: [[WINNER: USER1]] | [USERNAME 1] VS [USERNAME2]

User Image
The first post for each battler should look like this:
Quote:
[botimage]
[botname]

HP: 220/220
ATK: 20-30

SKILLS:
[skills]

[snarky comment]

And of course with each post you will roll the random number generator to determine your hit.

For posts after the first one, you can either continue to post the same format or you can just post the Current HP of your bot, since that is the only thing that changes.

User Image
Who goes first is up to the battlers, but if you can't decide, it's usually a good idea to roll a die at the beginning of the battle and let whoever rolls highest go first.

User Image
Certain type of bot elements have an advantage against other types of bots. The current advantages are as follows:

User ImageFire gets +1 ATK every roll VS Earth
User ImageWater gets +1 ATK every roll VS Fire
User ImageEarth gets +1 ATK every roll VS Water

User Image
Each bot type has a skill that gives them a special advantage in battle. For a list of bot's individual skills and how to use them check out the skills sticky.

User ImageEach bot's skill can only be used once per battle.
User ImageEach bot only has one skill.
User ImageIf your skill does a set amount of damage then you cannot attack normally as well [even if the skill does something else in addition to a set amount of damage]
User ImageIf your skill deals damage over turns, is passive, or doesn't directly deal damage, then you can attack normally in addition to using the skill.

User Image
If you win the battle, you may roll for spoils. A spoil is an item that is randomly awarded at the end of a battle.
The spoils that can be gotten from battling are:

User Image The Nitrus Chip - needed to cause bots to evolve to certain stages
User Image Connector Output - Needed for bot procreation.

All spoils can also be bought from the Machine Shop when they are in stock.

To roll for spoils, the winning bot must roll a 6-sided die.
You win a spoil if you roll a 1 or a 2.
If your bot lost the battle, they may not roll for spoils.

To claim your spoil, send a PM to Rocket AI with a link to the battle thread and the name of the spoil that you want (see available spoils above).
