I have a feeling, by asking this, i'm gonna get a lot of hate mail, but oh well. Who is Crowley? Was he a Witch? Was he even Pagan? How credible are his works? I read about him on wikipedia, and i don't really think that's enough info. The only reason i'm interested in learning about him is because he, like me, is a poet and practiced magick.

Not "like you", really. In all probability Crowley's magick differs significantly from what you personally practise.
Crowley was a ceremonial magician, a Pagan of sorts (his works suggest he worshipped Nuit, an Egyptian goddess, but I haven't done enough research to know for sure) and a Thelemite. He created Thelema himself.
His work includes passages such as: "Do what thou wilt is the whole of the law" "Love is the law, Love under Will" "Magick is the science and art of causing change in conformity with Will"
He coined the term "magick", with the K, to refer to what he did, and used the definition above. "Will" refers not to personal will, but sort of the will of godhead and the soul, and as such is distinct from "magic" as most non-Thelemites practise it. The six letters of the word reflect a numerological importance, another reason Crowley spelt the word the way he did.
His works are very credible if what you're interested in is Thelema. Overall he had a tendency to exaggerate so he is not always a reliable narrator.
