Genesis Anne Nieve
Age:
21
Gender:
Female
Social Class:
Middle Class
Occupation:
Herbalist
Region:
Surrey, England
Ethnicity:
1/4 French, 1/2 Egyptian, 1/4 Welsh
Personality:
"Heed the Ancients"
The first thing one must learn about Genesis Nieve is that the young woman is a very passive creature. With a temperment calm as an undisturbed sea, she seems to be quite easygoing, and not likely to get angry, even when provoked. Genesis does not tend to raise her voice or snap, and if she does, it's in the way that is the icy manner with a smile, the one that one should fear above violent anger. She does not believe in revenge, but she can and will refuse service, or entry to her home, should she become irritated enough with one person. Generally, her calm is only an outward appearance, and she seems to almost have an air older than her years, complete with the elegant, mysterious smile that invites you to try to learn more about this mysterious young woman.
"In Gen's Perfect World..."
Though as an Herbalist, the middle of the Nieve triplets is in it to help people out, Genesis still has her own way. The young woman likes things to be one way or the other, and refuses things to be outside the way she believes they should be. One of the reasons she allows the Demon in her life is that he seems to fit quite nicely into the way Genesis believes things should be run. Everything must be by her direction, and her word, and even at Middle Class status, Genesis still manages to attemt the airs of a noble woman. This is her world....and no one else can step into it. When the girl lost everything, this became even more her state of mind, that nothing could enter her world any more. Even her own mother is shut out, and the fact that she is so idealistic and shut off can cause issues with people. Genesis was never really the most social person in the world, but after Matteus was taken, and Cat was killed.....she had no interest in the real world any more....
"By My Words"
Tying into her idealism is the fact that Genesis has a very commanding presence. She stands tall, and gives off an air of 'doesn't take no'. She can be a hard-a** when it comes to things of the nature of her own idealism, and when it comes to the idea of her orders (especially to her 'patients' to whom she gives herbs) she expects them to be followed to the letter. No less. No more. She has the gall to stand tall in the face of people who 'outrank' her in society, though this seems not to matter to her, as she will meet their eyes without fear. It may be a reckless trait that could get her into a deep amount of trouble, however, she intends on ensuring her place in this world, for the ideal result. The ideal result being that she gets what she wants more than anything else.
"Fate's Wheel, she Turns"
One of the things she has going with her, however, is the fact that she accepts things easily. When she made her contract with her demon, this was long after she'd first learned of the Paranormal existance. Be it sexuality of another, or a Shinigami at her door, young Genesis is quite easy to take into stride the things most would balk at. It possibly has to do with how close Genesis was with her siblings, or with the fact that Lakesh himself was a pagan man and taught her a few of the things that she knows today. She adores the idea that she can communicate with whatever it is in this world that is unseen by normal humans, and the young woman intended on using that other realm to get her vengeance for the death of her triplet. Even the idea of spirits and Demons came almost naturally to her when brought up before her contract. Maybe it has to do with her upbringing, maybe it has to do with her very nature. Who knows. In a way, this can lend to her being easily swayed, as she is prone to listen to things that seem to make sense at the time, even if they are not completely true. Though her logic of the world having to be by her own liking slightly deters this fact, it will never be able to quite stop it all together.
"My Family, My Life"
Before the incident, the most important thing to Genesis was her family. Her brothers and her mother were the things she'd protect with her life. Afterwards, however, this began to only apply to her chosen family. Very few fall into this category, and if you do, you should consider yourself fortunate, for Gen is a very powerful Ally. Though not in wealth, or status, in the fact that her knowledge is quite useful. Her family will be protected, and she would even step before a bullet with them. She uses them as a crutch, however, some would say, for the death of the person closest to her, and the loss of the other who was her most beloved. Never willing to go through that loss again, she can get rather vocal and somewhat violent when her chosen family tries to break relation with her....
History:
The Nieve triplets were born to Sara Nieve, and Lakesh Nahamut in the middle of great turmoil. As Lakesh had been getting ready to go back to Egypt, leaving Sara behind, they found out that the woman was pregnant. Though the man had money aplenty, he was not willing to take care of children. Catxohyl, Matteus, and Genesis were three that the family had not expected to see when born. The three could not have looked more different, and could not have looked more similar all at once. Though born into the midst of the Middle class, the three were perfectly happy with what their family could afford in Versaille, each finding new games they could play with the other. As close as if they were the same soul, in separate forms, the three never went anywhere without one another....perhaps that was their downfall.
Lakesh left early in the triplet's lives, the man a prominenet figure in Egypt at the time, therefore having no time for his middle-class mistress, and her children. The young man ended up bringing the youngest, Matteus, along with him. This was the start of the siblings breaking apart. With Mattie gone, the dynamic between the other two Nieve siblings became tense, fraught with argument and agitation. This was where things began to show up for Genesis. She was unhappy with their status in the world, not quite satisfied with lower middle class. It was also about this time that Sara released Lakesh's books and stories to Genesis, in order for the two remaining triplets to learn about their father.
Genesis took to them like a fish to water, at age 13. She began to study the paranormal things that the man wrote about, and used his herbal journal to learn what she now uses to keep her in a niche of the upper middle class. As Genesis grew older, and things began to change for a young woman in Versailles, age 16, she began to start training specifically for becoming an Herbalist. Her life took her away from her family to the country, and so when the news came that her eldest brother, Catxohyl, had passed away at age 18, due to a murderous man who'd found the long-haired young man and thought he was...interesting, things became VIOLENT. She abandoned her herbalism and took up a heathen path.....a path that lead her to finding the spell to summon a Demon. This Demon became her path to vengeance. Vengance for the death of the brother she'd lost.
Recent History:
After the Demon was summoned, Genesis took to her own small country home. Becoming an Herbalist "officially", she started a small business out of her home, and she began to sell herbs for cooking...and, if someone gave the right word, heathen means. Her work is either hush-hush, or well known, depending on the community, and she works side by side with her Butler. He's began to help her manage the company, and the house, serving her as a Butler would a high class Lady, instead of a middle class woman.
Genesis has taken to this like a fish to water, and now the two run the shop smoothly...without fail.
D. BUTLER
Name:
Amar Ithilden
Gender:
Male
Actual Age:
210
Personality:
"As you will it, My Lady"
He is a butler after all, and the compliant nature of his personality is based around the fact that he has chosen this guise to assist Genesis in her revenge. He speaks calmly and evenly, and holds himself as though he will obey her in the utmost. Behind this is the fact that obeying her, he is able to gather more information, and turn things into the way he wishes them to be. Orders have loopholes, after all, and he can always manage to slip through them if he needs to. Though he adores his mistress, there is a point of fact that he only will comply to a point....after that.....the game changes.'
"The Shadow King is the Ruler"
Oh the turn of tongue that is befitting of a serpent. He enjoys watching from the shadows, and turning Genesis' head in the right direction. Amar's hands, metaphorically, are always on the reins of the carriage. His tongue is that of silver, and his words are always the right ones, as Amar knows what people want to hear from him. Often, he will speak for his less socially inclined mistress, and people can tell that the two are well-met. Able to phrase things in a manner by which most would not take offense at even the most crude of jokes, he enjoys the fact that it means he can twist most around his small fingers. THis is a game that he enjoys....that, and with a demon at the helm of the Herbalist business miss Nieve runs from her own home....well....success is within his grasp, as is the soul he's culturing for his own tastes.
"Until the World Ends"
He has sworn to Genesis Nieve that he will follow her to the ends of the earth, to the seas....and he meant every word of it. Loyal to a fault, the Demon will do anything to protect the soul and the vessel he's claimed as his own. Besides, an early death on her part would be inconvenient for him. He has voiced this, and makes it obvious to even the most casual observer that he is fully dedicated to Genesis, and likes to attempt with the prior part of his persona, to twist them to the same conclusion. As the Demon sees it, the more people he can put between Genesis and death....the better.
"The Hidden Wings with Which I Fly."
He does, however, have a temper. He doesn't take well to people other than Genesis ordering him about, and can become either violently angry, or give that icy butler's smile, and politely ask you to leave the shop or his presence. Though Genesis has never seen this temper, she is aware it exists, by the mere fact that people have spoken to her of the....misdemeanors of the Butler. He is quite hard-pressed to find a way to control it, and he likes the free spirit that comes of being able to free his anger like this. Not to mention the demon has other ways to relieve his anger.
"The Charming Serpent"
A snake is a snake, and with his sinuous, lithe, smooth-tongued nature, he usually proves to be one hell of a charmer. He enjoys the lustful nature of human beings, and has no qualms using his rather odd looks to draw women and men alike to him. Though he's never done this to his mistress, he knows that if he needed, he could charm her as well. This tends towards him coming off as mildly arrogant, but he is, and as a serpent, he tends towards even more of a wicked twist of this, usually luring his 'victims' off alone before finally enjoying his....little games. Never take the unwilling....lure them into sin. Amar believes this will keep them close, not only to him, but also to his Lady....Eternally loyal.
Pact Formation:
The night that Genesis was informed of her brother's death, he was already watching her. The young Demon knew she was going to want her vengeance, especially since he'd had his fascination with the Nieve Triplets. The snake was curious as to how she would go about it and waited til she tried a false summoning ritual to appear before her. Once he did, she told him what he knew she wanted. And the Demon and the girl sealed a pact between the two of them. Once her vengeance is had, her soul will belong to Amar...and the snake waits for this day eagerly.
Animal Familiar:
Blue Racer
Compliance Motto:
As you will it, my Lady.
Brief History:
Amar Ithildin had been waiting for three years for something to go wrong. Three years of following two children he barely understood, waiting for the female of the two to do what he knew would come. He followed her as a serpent, hiding in trees and grasses. When she moved out to the country, and began her own studies, he stuck even closer than before. The call came, and Amar chose his opportunity. While she slept, he'd whisper in her ear, gently, telling her where to look in her father's books. Once the failed ritual occured, Amar brought himself before the girl, finally, and told her what she wanted to hear. They'd form a contract, and he'd help her get her revenge for the death of her brother.
Her agreement lead to the birth of a new life. The two moved to Surrey, and started up a small business there. He taught the woman much of what Lakesh had left behind for her, showing her the way to use the herbs that she knew for things other than cooking. They became almost like business partners, though he still will follow every order given by his lady. After all. He swore he'd follow her to the ends of the seas to get her vengeance for the death of Cat....didn't he?
PROMPT RESPONSE
A grand joke was what she took this to be, and looking to her butler, she had said as much when they'd gotten into the open carriage, with the weather hanging heavy over the skies in Surrey. Glancing at the creature beside her as they began their trek upon the roads, she voiced her concern, "It's going to rain, Amar." The single nod of the opal-eyed snake's head told her what she wanted to know, it was indeed going to rain. Glancing up at the dark gray skies once again, her amber eyes narroewd darkly as she growled softly. Damn the Brittish weather. She hated it, and it was the reason she'd originally lived within the safe confines of Versailles, where she didn't have to deal with this heavy English rain. It was always English, wasn't it. Cooking wasn't as good as France, scenery wasn't as lovely...okay, so maybe she was a bit picky, but as Genesis saw it, she had every right to be.
The somber young Nieve woman was clad in elegant clothing, afforded only because she and her butler had hit a gold mine in the Herbalism industry, thanks to his eye for money, and her eye for herbs. It was why the middle class femme had chosen Surrey as their home. She was able to grow her own plants, without any questions, and those were what she most wished to avoid. Run ins with the Church were best avoided, as she'd ceased believing in God long ago...Far back at age 18. If she'd believed in God, she would not have been sitting beside the teal-haired Demon right now.
Said creature was watching the weather with a wary eye, a tiny smirk cuving his full lips as he imagined his mistress' reaction to the skies opening and dumping water on that fair blond hair that apparently didn't come from her mother's French blood, but her turn-tail father's Egyptian. Sure, the 200-some-odd year old Demon found this odd, however, there were more important things to worry about, like getting to the party. The party in which he intended to spread some small word about Genesis Nieve's small business, for what was he other than her faithful butler? Lounging lazily on the carriage seat, he wondered at her choice of an open carriage, when the clouds had been threatning rain all day. Mayhap it was simply one of his mistress' quirks. He could never really tell with her sometimes.
She was about to order him to pull out her overcoat from the 'trunk' she'd had put in as a secret compartment in the carriage. Before the order even left her lips, Amar bowed and murmured, softly, "As you Will it, My Lady." He didn't even let her see the quirk of full lips into a wicked grin as he turned and pulled out the coat. The heavy navy thing smelled of sage and some other herb that most would be unable to identify, though the Demon snake was so familiar with it by this point, he simply chuckled, "You should stop working with Mandrake Root, my lady. It, and Holy Wood. The smell of the second is irritating." One look into those amber eyes, however, and he knew he'd done nothing but amuse her. As usual.
Genesis never took him truly seriously, which she knew often irritated Amar, mostly because of the fact that he seemed to get picky about the herbs she used for...other purposes. It was part of the reason she did what she did. Taking the coat from him, she gently draped it about his shoulders, carefully, knowing it would help her block out any rain that would come down from the laden skies. Not even halfway to her destination, her prediction proved true. Rain began to fall and amber eyes fluttered shut as she felt cold droplets spatter upon a fair cheek, the sensation highly unpleasant to the naturally warm-blooded young woman. Hissing, she looked about as the heavy English rain finally released from its confines over the open roads.
The scent of the rain washed over Genesis, and she found her irritation growing by the very moment. Her heartrate remained steady, but amber eyes narrowed quickly, especially as the slosh of mud began to become audible beneath the wheels of the open carriage. Glaring at Amar, her look made it very clear whom she blamed for this choice of travel, and as she pulled her overcoat tighter about her, she hissed once more, "I hate England.....Ces règles stupides dans leur société étrange ..." Sliding into her natural French, the woman huffed her annoyance as the butler stood, looking over the road with shifting opaline eyes. This meant something to miss Nieve, as such a thing usually meant that there were complications. Complications such as....the flooding of the road.
"The gods laugh at our attempts tonight, my Lady." He said, softly, teal hair clinging to a fair face, as he glanced at her once more. It was fairly obvious that making it to the party was going to be a perilous trek, and he knew that she would be wishing, about now, that they'd made the choice to stay within their warm Surrey home, rather than make their way this far out for something his Lady considered frivolous and unnecessary. Amar always had his own agenda, however, and this party would be the culmination of his work to get her name known, if not for her work, for her looks. He knew that the woman was considered rather attractive by human standards, and after all....she was 21. The male Demon figured he may as well get her enjoying some of the pleasures of life before she became his eternally.
If they didn't hurry, they would get rained out of the party, and thus his plans would be quite sufficiently destroyed. Unwilling to allow such an abysmal mark on his so far rather pleasant record, he glared at the driver, shoved him in the back seat, and took the reins. He ignored the bemused snort from his mistress (so unlady-like......really...), and the cry of displeasure from the man, and drove the horses to a faster pace. He was not going to lose his goal over a little bit of rain. No....Genesis would be introduced about, and he....He would find a warm place to curl in his serpentine form for a time. Perhaps within his mistress' hidden sash-pouch....yes....this sounded nice. After all....Snakes were not meant for rain and cold...
