Hayden was at about his wit's end. He had not foreseen what sort of terrible consequences would come from adopting twins that had bound themselves to moths. Actually, he'd never even given moths a single thought his entire life. So much to his dismay, they were both nocturnal, hungry all the time, and absolutely wired with energy. But, he wasn't going to give up on them or anything... he just needed to figure out how to get them tired so he could rest.
So he'd taken them to the park, which he hoped he wouldn't regret. Their energy level had seemed to triple as soon as he mentioned it.
Castor was the real issue. He was the "leader" between the two of them, and he was far more energetic than Pollux was. That just meant he was faster at destroying things, really.
So when they got to the park, it was no surprise to Hayden that Castor immediately ran for the sandbox and promptly began to destroy anything that kids had previously built in it.
Sure, Pollux was more... subdued, but that didn't make him any less of a terror. The kid was hungry. ALL THE TIME. There wasn't a moment that he wasn't complaining about being hungry. So of course when they arrived he followed after Castor, but instead of destroying the sandbox, he opted to gnaw on a left behind shovel.
"Not tastee Castor..." "Der's leevs over der, Pollux. Mebbe they be tastee." Castor pointed to one of the various bushes that was nearby.
Hayden was too tuckered out, barely awake on a bench, to even notice what they were doing. let alone care that Pollux was gnawing on a strange shovel and they were both discussing eating a strange bush.

The clumsy sound of toddler feet running against pavement could be heard in the parking lot of the play ground as well as the voice of an adult male calling after the sound.
"Mandi, be careful and watch where you're going." Daniel chuckled a bit as he watched his little girl go running off to where there were some other kids playing on the play ground. It was a strange thought still to think of someone as "his little girl", but it was a good strange. He wasn't too worried about her hurting herself. So far she seemed to merely bounce right back from any falls she took, maybe due to the fact her item was something made of rubber.
Mandi was dressed in a little blue and black dress with her hair up in ponytails as always. To her wrist was tied a bright blue balloon that matched her wide blue eyes which were currently taking in the play ground eagerly. There seemed to be so much to do! Plus even better there were other kids there! They seemed to be eating things but that didn't seem so strange to Mandi, sometimes she liked to eat odd things too. She began dashing towards the twins. The balloon on bounced about on the string as she ran like it was struggling to get free and fly high into the sky.
As she reached the edge of the sandbox she took a leap and landed on her butt in the sand. Sand flew up a bit around her in a spray possibly spraying the other two toddlers. She looked from one to the other and a huge grin spread out on her face.
"Hi."

Thankfully, Castor had been facing Pollux and not Mandi, so when the sand flew up in didn't get in his eyes.... it just got in everything else, really. He turned around, a curious look on his face.
Her grin was matched with one of his own, albeit it held a bit of a dangerously mischievous look to it. "Hi. Wassyer name?"
Pollux had been lucky enough to see her girl coming and closed his eyes in time, but he still got a face full of sand. "B-bleh sand in m'face not tastee at allllll." He sputtered and wiped at his face while wiggling around in place. Thankfully Castor had taken charge of greeting the new comer so that he could get himself sorted out again.

Mandi watched Pollux squirm and wiggle while trying to free his face of sand with wide eyes before letting out a loud giggle as he declared the sand not to be tasty. She covered her mouth and then turned her attention to Castor to consider his question to her.
"M'Mandi! Got a balloon." She tugged on the string to make the balloon bounce in the air a bit for show and then grinned again. "Who're you?" She pointed first to Castor with her balloon clad hand before pointing at Pollux as well. "An' you." It didn't really occur to her that she should apologize about all the sand they got covered in since it had ended up being so funny to her and no one really had gotten hurt right? She'd gotten some sand up her own shorts even so everyone had gotten sanded and that was fair.

Castor's eyes wandered up to stare at the balloon. He'd never seen one before and it was really quite interesting... how'd it stay up like that? "M'Castor.. how's it up?" He pointed at the balloon, a frown growing on his face. He didn't like it when he didn't understand something.
"Pollux..." The green twin sighed when he finally got everything out of his face. He blinked and looked up at the balloon, momentarily mesmerized by it. He looked down to Mandi, waiting for her answer on how it stayed afloat. "Dus it fly? Arr Daddy kin fly." He grinned, that seemed like a good answer.

Mandi followed the gaze of the two boys up towards her balloon. She knew that Daniel had explained to her once how the balloon stayed afloat but he had used a lot of big words she didn't understand. He had patted her on the head and told her one day she'd understand more about why things worked like they did. It wasn't something Mandi was very concerned about. Things were like they were and she did not really need to know why.
She made a thinking noise before finally answering. "Dunno. Daddy said somethin' bout' hellum. The balloon has hellum so it floats cause hellum is less heavy then oxgem. Dunno what oxgem is. But I guess hellum lets the balloon fly like yer daddy." She stared at the twins with wide blue eyes as she rambled, mispronouncing elements left and right. "Yer daddy kin fly? Wooow."

Castor's face went from intrigued to confused as Mandi spoke. He didn't understand a single word she was saying, but obviously it wasn't the same as their daddy's flying abilities. "Tha' sownds borin'." He announced as he began to push sand into a big pile in front of him. He was going to make a huge tower and then probably knock it down.
Pollux wasn't nearly as turned off by the big words that Mandi was butchering, but it didn't particularly pique his interest as much as he thought it would. "Oh, okey.... an' yeah! Daddy kin fly real high up." He pointed up into the sky. "Yer daddy can't fly?"

Mandi shook her head at Pollux, causing her black pigtails to sway slightly with the motion. "Nuh-uh Daddy is a people person, not a meta person. No powers, no wings, no floaty, no hellum." The word human was escaping her right this moment, but she knew he was a different race then all of them. Her attention shifted quickly to what Castor was doing though.
"Whatcha makin' Castor? Kin I help?" She crawled over in the sand closer to the tower he was building. He grabbed a fistful of sand and started sprinkling it on another pile of sand to make it bigger.

"Justa regulurr peeple?" Pollux seemed confused by that, but rather than press the subject he let it be and looked to whatever his brother was doing. It didn't take long for him to figure out what he was doing... Castor did this sort of thing at home with their toys, too. "Kin I help too Castor?"
Castor looked from Mandi to Pollux with what could be described as a toddler's version of a sly grin. "A'course. I'm makin' a biiiiiiiiig tower an' then I gonna smash it!" He giggled perhaps a bit too gleefully as he shoved another handful or two up to the top of the sand mound.

"Gonna smash it?! Wow, wow!" Mandi giggled. She didn't elaborate on her father being a regular person though as it didn't seem important. "Smashin is fuuun." It wasn't uncommon for her to build towers of blocks at home and run at it until both her and the tower toppled over. Though it seemed with the sand that no matter how much she added it seemed to be more like a small sand hill then a tower. "Don't seem like a tower.... kin we still smash it?" Seemed like maybe this Castor kid might have more smashing experience then she had.

"Smashin's pretty okay..." Pollux opts to sit back for now, let the experts do their thing. Despite the small reputation the twins have at least within their family group, Pollux is more likely to eat things rather than smash them.
Castor sits back for a moment as well, examining the now quite large sand mound. "It don' have t'look likea tower t'be one, tha's what daddy says." He nods, satisfied with that response and then pushes himself up. "We c'n smash it!" And to demonstrate, he kicks the mound as hard as his little self can.... the mound sort of... collapses to one side.
