It had been a cool day, considering his location in the middle of bloody nowhere, and the cheetah had been able to put sufficient distance between himself and the last rogue lion he had the unfortunate luck to meet. Still, he had cheated a meal out of the dumb male and had gotten a way before his little charade had been discovered and he was far too far from the lion for it to track him now.
Grinning to himself in self-satisfaction, he paused and lifted his head, blue-grey eyes the colour of storm clouds scanning the horizon. So... the only downside to this whole game was that he now had absolutely no idea where he was... and there was scant few landmarks around for him to have much hope of recognizing anything, or even running into a new rogue who might be able to aid him.
Scowling at this sudden realization, he huffed impatiently. "Drat... now what do I do... I bet there isn't even a herd of gazelle or a river close by." Grumbling he scowled at the brown, burnt landscape as if it had personally conspired to make him lost.

Tabia tilted her head to the side, watching the cheetah from her concealment atop the ridge she'd decided to use as shelter form the heat. Her mission needed to go smoothly, the cloth she brought back would be used for her Entertainers, and making sure Sanguine never suspected that it was she who made off with the goods was very important...she may need the crimson eyed pirate again someday. She needed a patsy. Someone she could lay it all on...and low and behold....
She narrowed her golden eyes, how fortunate for her that this male showed up. What wonderful, perfect, timing. Smiling to herself, she slid a little further back into the ledge, wedging her back leg fairly well in, twisting it a little to the side as she scuffed the area around her up. She was covered in dust from traveling, and wore none of her veils or jewelery, so she actually looked her youthful years.
Double checking that her stage was set, and satisfied it was, Tabia let out a soft, but clear moan, followed by a gentle cry of pain, her tongue coming out to pant rapidly as she scuffed the dirt with a front paw feebly.

The breeze carried the faintest sound of something to his twitching ears. A cry? Maybe.. but it was most certainly something living and that would mean either he had found food, or someone to illicit aid from, wither voluntarily or by 'other' means. Turning his head slowly, ears flicking back and forth, he waited for another sound then, following the gentle voice, started to wind his way up the slope to where he hoped he would find someone conscious enough to be of use to him.
Cresting the edge of a short ledge with a rather undignified scramble, he climbed to his paws and only after shaking himself vigorously to dislodge the dust and dirt in his coat, did he look over at what was the source of the sounds. The sight that greeted him was strange enough to make him pause and look for a good few seconds, stormy eyes blinking slowly before he plastered a big smile on his maw.
Salvation... the day was not lost after all.
"Oh! My dear!" He cried in mock astonishment, eyes wide and innocent. "Are you alright? I heard a sound and came to investigate, lucky I did!" Padding over, his face a picture of concern and well meaning, he nudged at the rock over her leg. "Oh dear.. it seems you are in quite the fix. How on earth did you get in this position?" He lifted his head and gave her the most pitying expression of sympathy and concern, even his own mother would have been impressed.

Tabia resisted the urge to slap him, he didn't seriously think that she would be taken in by such a display of bad acting did he? Then she remembered sweet N'gombe and had to repress a sigh and a roll of her golden eyes. Instead, she whimpered a little more for him, and shied away, as if afraid and hurt all at the same time.
" I..I slipped on the dirt...I didn't mean to...I was playing...it was just so hot out side...papa keeps telling me not to wander...." she sniffed, and looked down, tears falling on the loose dirt, " he's gonna be so mad....he says...rogues...."
She sniffed again and looked up at him, her golden eyes filled with innocent trust and fear, " You're not one...are you? One of those that hurt felines?"

Nodding sympathetically as she haltingly told her sorry little tale, he had to resist the urge to snap at her for being so sniffly and weak. But he restrained himself and even kept his upset and concerned expression intact, despite the snarky and rather crass litany he held silently in his head.
Instead, he smiled gently at her and shifted onto his belly to make himself less threatening. After all, he didn't want to scare her so badly that she would faint on him. "Of course not! I would never hurt a lady as sweet as you. Have no fear my dear. I am here to help you. Can you move at all?" He put all the gentleness and reassurance he could muster without being sick into his voice, managing to hide the disgust he felt at her sniveling sob story.
"We should get you free and make sure you are not badly hurt." Then maybe she could actually do something useful and tell him where the heck he was.

For the love of ... She had to grit her teeth to keep her claws sheathed, how the hell did males like him even make it out of womb alive, she'd have strangled him at birth!
Sniffing to hid her need to hiss at him, she gave him a small, pathetic nod, " I..I think I can move a little. It seems to be my right hind foot that's stuck. I...I don't know....I can't feel my toes..." she whimpered again and wiped her paw over her lovely eyes.
" I just can't seem to free it....maybe you..maybe you can reach it.....somehow...."

Suppressing the urge to snap at her, he hid his sneer and gave her an encouraging smile instead. At least if he helped her, she would feel so indebted to him that he may even be able to blag a meal from her as well as directions to the nearest meat-herd or pride, whichever was closest.
"Easy there child. Let me see if I can move it. Just hold still ok?" And don't bloody get me stuck to you wench. He growled irritably in his head as he started to wiggle forwards on his belly, ears pressed flat to his head as he squinted against the dust she had churned up in her struggling.
There! That was the rock, though it didn't look all that stuck to him. Gritting his teeth against the curses he wished to spill about weak and stupid females, he stretched his front paw out further, claws just barely scrapping over the lodged rock.

Tabia kept the sniffles up until he was stretched full out onto his belly, then quick as a snake she twisted, kicking the rock opposite the 'lodged' one, causing it to fall into the rock that was really just perched on its side. With a satisfying clacking sound, it fell into place, pinning his out stretched paw to the ledge rather nicely with the hollow it created.
Gracefully, she rolled to her feet and padded around to face him, the innocence gone from her lovely, jeweled, toned eyes, her voice filled with rich, sultry, seductive tones, " Why thank you so much for the rescue, your timing really was impeccable."
She lifted a paw, reaching into the crevice above her, pulling out her veil and jewelery, re-adorning herself as she prepared for the next part of her 'performance", being sure to stay well out of paw and claw reach of her rescuer turned captive.

For along moment he could not register what had just happened. Storm-grey eyes blining wide in shock and disbelief as he watched her roll free smoothly, unhurt and far from the innocent she had pretended to be.
".... YOU!" Furious he struggled, tugging hard at his lodged paw as he strained to reach her and tear her limb from limb. "YOU LYING CHEAT!" He bellowed, seeing red as he failed to manage to reach her, his body pressed almost flat by the just of rock above him. "I WILL GET YOU. YOU WITCH! YOU SEE IF I DON'T!"
Howling in outrage he struggled futilely, claws scrambling at the rock and only succeeding in kicking up enough dust to choke himself as he ranted wildly at her, ears flat back as he spat furiously.

An elegant eyebrow raised as she regarded him from the entrance of the rock ledge, her voice as sweet as honey, " Tch tch, such manners, here I though you said you'd help me." She pouted artfully at him. " You said you would, you even said I was a sweet lady...."
Lining her eyes with khol with practiced skill, Tabia shook herself to be sure all her bangles were in place, once again, artfully skewing a few and rumpling her fur and veil. Turning back to him, she blew a little kiss in his direction, " Now, don't go anywhere till I bring back the cavalry. I am sure Sanguine the Pirate is going to be very, very, pleased to meet your acquaintance. Kiss kiss."
With that, she slipped off the ledge and out of his sight.

Unable to reply the brown cheetah could only vibrate helplessly with impotent rage as he watched her leave.
