Hi, my name is Colton Marcivius Raines
I mostly go by Colt, or just Colton.
I'm a male.
I'm 15 years old.
This is my fifth, proud year here at Hogwarts.
The house I'm in is Gryffindor!
People say that, in a nutshell, I'm in possession of an overpowering personality. I've been called extremely judgmental, as I tend to speak my mind, despite where I am or who I'm with. I, however, would call myself strong-minded and confident. I've been compared to my father time and again, for my bravery, intelligence, and both my ambitious and hard-headed ways of thinking. Being the son of a military man, I've grown to always stand up for what I believe in, and value my family above all else. I was taught not only to behave as a gentlemen, but to regret nothing, fear no one, and take pride in everything I do. My intentions are hard to read, and my first impressions tend to be one-sided, but if there is one thing that I wish to accomplish in my seven years at Hogwarts, it is to live up to my father's standards..
My background story is what makes me who I am. I was born and raised in Durham, England, with my mum, dad, and little sister. My dad was not only an orphan, but an American muggle who served for over ten years in the Marine Corps. He met my mum at a young age while deployed to London, and accepted her large wizarding family with open arms. They married and got started on a family while he was still serving in the military, but he was always there for us when we needed him most. He made sure not to let me forget that I was born with two hands. He also drilled into me the idea that being a wizard does not put me at a higher rank than muggles, but being a better man can. I've always looked up to my father, and for that reason, was set on attending Durmstrang, due to their military-like structure. However, my mum convinced me to follow the family's path to Hogwarts by putting emphasis on the fact that Durmstrang does not accept muggle-borns, and would likely frown upon my mixed blood. I still have a bit of reluctance towards going to Hogwarts, but at least I know that I am not doing a disservice to my father by choosing to associate myself with prejudice people. My relatives that attended Hogwarts have been scattered between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, but my parents have always joked that if I don't lighten up on people, I will be put in Slytherin. At least they don't have to worry about me being the first to be placed in Hufflepuff, because my first impression is anything but friendly.
I enjoy watching Quidditch, and therefore look forward to both Flying class, and a chance to associate with a Quidditch team myself. Sports of all sorts, even muggle ones, tend to entertain me. I took up boxing at age 8, and have been on a junior swim team for as long as I can remember. I've been known to like my solitude, despite my strong family values, but my mother's cooking has always been able to draw me out of my room.
I despise those who think themselves better than others, but only when they don't deserve to. I cringe at the idea of being surrounded by weak-minded people, and hope that I don't find myself in a position that gets me in trouble for it. I don't like when people criticize my strong personality, and I wish that more people had my sense of pride. I also dislike when people choose not to take advantage of their freedom. Tons of men are out there fighting for it, why not use that to our advantage? Despite my ability to learn, I absolutely hate thinking about having to attend an astronomy class. After all, why would I want to look at the stars when I could be learning defensive tactics?
I look like someone who is destined to follow in my father's military footsteps, as I keep a clean buzz cut at all times, and am always told that I look and act much older than I am. I have a pair of mysterious gray eyes that my parents could never explain, and an athletic build that I thank my love of boxing and swimming for. Take a peak.
My wand is thirteen and one half inches, made of hawthorn wood and fox fur.
My pet is a rather small owl painted with various tones of brown and a set of bright yellow eyes. He goes by the name of Hemlock, but I look at him more as a friend, than of a pet. I value my freedom, so shouldn't he?
