 The forest was silent as the morning sun started to bring on the heat of the hot summer day. The only sound that echoed through it was the distinct sound of bone being ripped from the teneder meat of a young deer. Rena was starving as the ripped her way into the supple meat that she had worked hard. She wasn't a warrior and she wasn't the greatest hunter but this was her first kill in nearly two days and was starving.

 Pepper had finally snuck away from her tribe and family. She loved them all dearly but she wanted some time for her self and to do things on her own. She had made it past the scouts and her dad and once out of the desert she took off.
Now here she was wondering around in the forest without a care in the world. Though she should eat soon she noted she was ok with not doing so at the moment. As she walked she heard something and decided to check it out.

As Rena tore into her prey she paused for a moment a chunk of meat still steaming in her mouth as herears caught the sound of something. A frown quickly crossed her face as she backed away from her prey and looked around the area quickly for a hideing space.
Rena knew that a large predator could easily pick her over the deer and knew better then to fight back. Seeing a thick enough bush that could hide her dark pattern she quickly hid inside it and looked to see who was coming. If it was another fox however she was willing to fight for her kill.

Pepper followed the direction she heard a sound coming from until she found a place in the forest where a half eaten deer lay. She looked around but seen nothing. She tilted her head and commented softly, "Huh that's odd," before moving closer to examine the fallen deer.

The sound of however was coming forced Rena to push herself deeper into the bush hoping the thick foliage would hide her. As she seen the new female enter into vision she silently let go all her fear. The new female didn't look a warrior and even better was younger.
"That's mine." Her voice came out firm and a slight scowl on her face showed she wasn't looking to give up her meal. "I fought for that and I will fight you also"

By the time the new vixen had appeared Pepper was already next to the fallen deer with a paw on it. She had meant to move it some to see what got it and why whatever the predator maybe was being wasteful.
Pepper eyed the other female and noticed she wasn't happy. So she laid down on her belly letting out little whines as she went. Letting the other vixen know she was no alpha, she didn't want to fight and that she was sorry. "It was just laying there so I had to see why. I thought it was odd that it was still pretty intact and thought maybe it had some sickness that would harm predators and to see what it was so i could avoid it,"She let out another whimper"I'm sorry." She turned getting ready to bolt into the forest again and away.

Seeing the sudden display of submission Rena leaned back on her haunches slightly to think over what she was ging to do next. "A fox kill is almost always tidy, other animals tear their food to shreds." She said suddenly as she walked over to her kill and ripped off another chunk. "Also stop that, I'm not that type of fox. Besides, were not around a tribe anything. Show yourself some respect." Her voice was still firm but she didn't show any signs of aggression as she ate.

"I know we are tidy killers but it stroke me odd that the kill was abandoned so I figured something had to be wrong with it and wanted to find out." Pepper pointed out as she sat back down. "How am I to know what type of fox you are or if there are tribes around. This is the first time I have ever been away from the tribe I was born into and I am showing you respect you are an elder to me."

Her eyes drifted over to the strange green fox for a moment giving her another look over as she spoke. Rena gave a slight sigh as she admited the new fox was as green as grass to the real world. "For starters don't go near a fresh kill. I learned that when I was younger....got a scar to prove it." She paused again to throughly rip some meat off a rib. "Second, if I was a bad fox I would of attacked you while I had surprise. Great, another tribe kit..." her last word was a grumble as she stepped away from her kill. "Go ahead."

Pepper stared at the purplish vixen with interest. She was something different that was for sure but it was in a good way. "I honestly didn't know how fresh the kill was."she said softly watching the other girl. "That is true but I do know some foxes that think a surprise attack is being a coward and rather let their target know that they are a target."

"Then you shouldn't of came near." She said as she watched the new fox. Rena never had the opportunity to be a mother, the lunaire fox had made sure of that. Now though she did care for the young foxes who were new to the real world. Tribes often protected them from the real world. "Sweetie, whoever told you that was probably a warrior with honor. Out here the only one with honor are the warriors with a full belly. If anyone is hungry they would happily attack while you slept. Listen to auntie Rena, she'll make sure you know the real world."

"Alright fine sorry,"Pepper said seeing that there really wasn't anything other to say. She pawed at the ground knocking a pebble around. Her ears twitched picking up the other females words. "Why would I be attacked while I slept if they are hungry? We aren't food to other foxes. I can see if it happening if I approached food like I just did."she paused for a second, "Its nice to meet you Rena, My names Pepper."

"Well some foxes would say otherwise about that sweetie. But sometimes to keep you away from their den or some reason known to them. Me, I rather keep my distance." She looked the young fox over, she never really seen green on foxes but it really stood out nicely on her. "Although, I'm pretty sure whatever fox walk up to you would want your heart more."

"But if I am already asleep how can I be close to their den? Though if I was wondering I would see it as justifiable. I could possible sleep in a tree than I wouldn't be in anyones way." she pointed out sitting next to the other vixen. "You coat is very pretty. Why would someone want my heart? Its an organ that I need to live they obviously have their own."

Rena watched the new fox still. "What tribe are you from?" She questioned before looking over her shoulder to think for a moment. "How can you be close to a river but you can't hear it?" She replied back as she looked at her kill. She wasn't much for leaving it for later and she much less wanted to be near a preadtory animal. "Your tribe kept you from the world. By your heart I mean your love." She replied as she stood up and started to walk away. "Come on. Before a bear or badger picks up the smell. And thanks..." rena never felt pretty. Compared to the other foxes in the world she was plain.
