Fluorite was on patrol for lieutenants tonight.
All in all, this had been a relatively normal night so far. Not a senshi or page in sight, through she'd spotted a youma doing it's job earlier on and had stayed briefly to watch.
Unfortunate that it was only a matter of time before a one of the 'do-gooders' would get to them.
But she had a job to do, and so she continued her walk on the rooftops until, at least, her sense of auras registered a negaverse power signature. Weaker than hers.
There we go. She started to make her way toward it.

The energy signature was that of Lieutenant Osumilte, the most awesome of the lieutenants in the Negaverse. He was in a dark alleyway between a shady convenient store and a closed-down dry cleaners, holding a few freshly drained orbs of energy in the palm of his hands, towering over the unconscious body of his victim. The victim, a mugger who made the stupid decision to rob the well-suited agent, was carrying quite a bit of cash on him, much to Osumilite's delight. He pocketed the money with the energy, as he had done to all his victims.
Sure, his job was nice and paid the bills, but there was nothing wrong with having some more cash to carry around. As he turned to head away from the scene, he sensed the energy signature of another Negaverse agent - one more powerful than he - coming his way from a distant rooftop. Osumilite leapt up to the roof of the convenient store and waited for the other agent.

Energy aura in the air, check.
Lieutenant jumping up the roofs to meet her, check.
This one looked like he had some basics down already. Not that Fluorite would have been irritated if he hadn't - it's when they had no clue and tried to pretend that they did for the sake of their egoes that she got annoyed.
And the height issue. There was also an height issue here. Why was anyone so ******** tall ?
She needed to start perma-patrolling with Zinkenite and Ammolite, god damn it.
And Benitioite could come too. He'd been her most promising lieutenant so far.
She leaped the last roof, and ended up on the same one that he was waiting on. He was... older than she thought, actually. "Good evening." She said with a smile.

"Evening," he said, looking down at the much shorter agent. She was, like most of the agents of the Negaverse that he had met, also appearing to be much younger than he - likely a teenager. What was up with that? Did the Negaverse hang around high school gymnasiums, waiting to recruit? He wished there were more adults - or at least someone he could get a drink with when they were done draining the energy of the citizen population.
Osumilite slowly began to circle the shorter agent, getting a look. Her energy signature felt stronger than some of the others he had felt - more on par with Painite's, but significantly less than Tanzanite's. The woman must be a Captain, as they were called. "The name's Lieutenant Osumilite. And you are?"

Well, technically she'd be willing to go for a drink with him, through not in a very legal way.
And even with the fake id, it was still hit or miss if the bouncers fell for it. Being so short wasn't always advantageous, but she had to admit she'd found advantages to it ever since she's started fighting this war.
"Captain Fluorite." She said with a nod of the head. She didn't seem to be making such a big deal out of her rank. She followed his circling with her eyes on reflex, but otherwise didn't seem too bothered.
"Not bad. That tends to make senshi nervous." Or maybe that was just when Tanzanite did it. "You seem to have the basics down, at least. Anything you're wondering about ?"
That was her job, after all.

"Yes, actually," Osumilite smirked, looking down at the tiny teenage girl. "Why the ******** is everyone in the Negaverse so damn young? Seriously, is there anyone in this organization who is in a chapter of their lives where they aren't worried about standardized testing and what to wear to the prom?"
He hadn't yet met any Senshi, but if their demographics were anything like that of the Negaverse, he was certain there wouldn't be any issue if the time came where he had to fight with them. Well, other than a general discomfort of being a thirty year old man about beating up a teenage girl with a microphone.

Fluorite couldn't help but frown a bit at that, but whatever irritation had sparked in her at the man's comment was left at that, and her tone was still calm and even when she spoke. Through if he said those words to the wrong person, he was gonna end up with his a** handed to him, for sure.
And if he thought being 17 made her incapable to focus on anything beyond a damn prom dress, she would personally hand him his a**.
"Most are around my age, or in their early 20's." Her brother, Painite, and Tanzanite herself came to mind. "If you think that's bad... The senshi have like, 8 year olds."
She was dead ******** serious. And disgusted by it. She didn't even bother to disguise the deepened frown and the disgust in her voice as she spoke of chibi senshi. Young children that should be home and safe... Not fighting a war they probably only saw as a game.
He continued to circle her, and she continued to follow him with her gaze, more out of trained habit that actual feeling of a threat. "How good are you at dodging ?" It occurred to her suddenly. "At your stage you should be more focused on getting energy than actually fighting senshi, but it's nice to be able to dodge the huge ******** meteors coming at you," Her tone was still completely serious. She'd met that senshi, even.
She still thought it was god-damn unfair.

He frowned at the idea of children fighting in this war. The Senshi really were evil, awful beings. Recruiting children? That's disgusting. As the father of a toddler, it bothered him to think about such things.
"At dodging?" Osumilite raised a brow. He wasn't quite sure. Sure, he had been in a bar fight or two. And sure, he had his fair share of other fights. Jealous boyfriends and angry husbands and all that, but he never really had experience dodging something like a meteor. "Look, if its something to be done, I'm sure I can do it. Haven't you heard? I'm kind of amazing at everything."
His tone was almost as serious as the Captain's, although his attitude was a little more lightheaded and charming. "I suppose if you have some experience in combat with these Senshi I wouldn't mind learning some tricks."

The lieutenant said nothing, but the frown spoke volumes. Fluorite simply nodded in agreement. Even she hoped never to run in one of those - chibi senshi. She was uncertain if she had it in her to harm a child.
Wasn't sure if she even wanted to, which was probably the point of recruiting them to begin with. Fighters most of the negaverse would not dare touch, only to quickly label those who did as monsters.
They really started to look at themselves in the mirror before calling others monsters.
"Are we now... ?" Her tone was a little lighter now, amusement tinting the edges. Had it not been for what he said next, she would have told him that this was the best recipe for dying.
One second Fluorite had been still, the next she'd been in motion - she turned, pivoting on one feet and lashing out with her hand, using the very point of her fingers as if they had been a knife.
She ended up sopping about a centimeter away from his torso. Point proven, yes ?
"Senshi typically only have their magic, but I can assure you that if there's anything in the environment they can use to clobber you, they'll take it." She nodded, letting go of her position. "So that's the best advice I can give you, for now. At your level, surviving is more important than trying to clobber their faces in, as tempting as the latter is."

"Homicidal children and hormonal teenage girls with magic? Sounds like a fun party," Osumilite smirked. His eyes batted with a flinch as her hand suddenly waved towards him, but his body remained frozen and still as it stopped close to his torso. Had there been a weapon in her hand, he would have been seriously injured. And even worse, his beautiful abs would have been ruined. "Oh trust me, I'm always looking out for my survival for the betterment of the world. It'd be a pretty depressing place without me."
"I don't suppose you'd like to spar and see what I've got?" he asked, then added in some flattery. "Surely a young, strong captain as yourself has more skill than a lowly - but outrageously talented - lieutenant such as myself, but you learn from the best right? And you must be the best."

By gods, this guy had an ego bigger than Mount Everest.
But still, a lieutenant was a lieutenant. It was her job to make sure he didn't turn into a very egoistical pancake - they were so few as it was. That, and even with all that, he still hadn't given her a reason to chuck him off the roof yet.
Perhaps the flattery had helped, through she would never admit it.
It was hard, if not impossible, to truly train a lieutenant on how to fight senshi. They were limited to their weapons, while senshi... Well. They was a ******** senshi for everything. Even with the corrupted... That was only a small sample.
No, there was no true way to prepare him. But she could do the next best thing.
"Best is subjective." And with only that as a warning signal, she rushed for him. Her knives were kept out of the equation - through, perhaps she should carry plastic ones, or hell, even playing cards, just for training.
That was a thought, but not now. She looked like she was gonna punch him in the chest - until the last moment, where she used her speed to twirl out of the way and make an attempt as his sides.

Osumilte saw the blow coming towards his chest, and he slightly leaned to the side, but did not see her surprise move at the end. In his attempt to dodge the blow to the chest, he ended up falling straight into the actual blow to his side, with quite a force. He was certainly not expecting that.
"OW, you c**t," he shouted, taken off guard. In what can best be described as jerk-reaction, he let out a strong, no-bars-held full-force fist towards the girl's face, aiming square on for her nose.

There wasn't really a way to avoid a punch like that, so Fluorite stumbled back, hand clutching at her cheek. She'd moved just enough, thankfully - a hit like that could have broken her nose easily.
Perhaps this lieutenant had an advantage that she hadn't considered - his age in comparison to most he would fight. It might help. A little.
But still, there was something the captain wouldn't tolerate.
"Nice reflexes." She had to give him that. "But let's stay civilized here, hmm, especially since you were the one asking for this training sesson. I can't promises my blades won't start flying toward that pretty little face of yours deep enough to scar you if you don't keep the insults for the senshi. Are we clear, lieutenant ?"
Her tone, her posture, and everything else spoke of one thing - she wasn't kidding. There were many who would do even worse to her for his disrespect - many who wouldn't even have bothered to warn him.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, all I heard was that you think my face is pretty," he grinned with a joking wink. He took her words into consideration, although his outburst of swearing was much more of a reflex than an intentional thing. He never would mean to be so uncouth. He never would mean to be anything but charming. "I always viewed my face as rugged, handsome, strong; but I'll take pretty as a compliment."
At the last syllable of his words, he lunged forward to attempt an uppercut to the captain's gut - but he held back his force substantially as to not hurt the girl. After all, it was just a spar and she was his superior - and the last thing he would want to do is upset his superior. There'd be no room for moving up in the world then, would there?

Fluorite frowned, through from all aparences, the apology had been accepted, since no blades were coming in his general direction.
She hadn't even considered him in that way, at all. Not so much for any other reason that he was thirty.
That would have been awkward.
Through there had perhaps been an unseen tactic here - she'd noticed his movement too late. She still moved out of the way - superior speed helped - but his fist would feel the leather of her uniform as she moved away,
She was really having a clear picture of how he fought, now. "Distract then hit 'em. That's a pretty valid strategy." They all played their own strengths. Fluorite liked to stalk, to move soundlessly and quickly, to hit them before they ever realized she was coming. "Some of these damn senshi never shut up."
She had half a mind to show off, but no, that was a bad idea. It wasn't her intent to hurt him, after all. So instead she went at him again - trying to exploit a less guarded angle. She was careful to keep her own strength in check, this time.
