With a shaky land a Phim landed on the ground. He folded his wings against his back and made his may into the old forest where his cave was. It was a dark place, as he was accustomed to during these times. He was alone for the time being, since Master Belial was off with his other minions. He rarely knew what to do while he was alone. He let out a sigh and a grunt and plopped down on the hard ground. He wasn't tired... just alone. He stared out of his cave. Outside grew darker and gloomy. He could tell a storm was coming. He shrugged, not like he cared.

The Modiphim laid at the base of a gnarled hawthorn tree, curled into a tight ball, her tail wrapped around her, the long, bushy end covering her nose, and her wings folded loosely by her sides. Crickets began their evening chorus, and she stirred, slowly opening her teal eyes. She raised her head from her crossed paws, then yawned hugely, whipping her tail behind her. She then shook her head, and rose to her paws, then stretched herself out before straightening up and gazing out at the dim sky. A frown tugged at the end of her lips. A storm seemed to be approaching, which never bode well for her. Any flyer knew that flying in a storm was risky business, and few wished to take that chance, especially in a treacherous storm such as the one that loomed just several miles away. The clouds did not look too friendly.

Selene, like most of her winged brethren, enjoyed flight. It was exhilarating, liberating, and uplifting. The gift was too dear, and she was not about to risk a severe wing injury — or worse — for the sake of one flight, no matter how much she detested traipsing about the countryside on foot. There were too many obstacles, and though she was nimble, lithe, and agile, she was still considerably larger than your average fox — certainly not as large as Modifoxes could get, but still larger than average — and was not fond of being grounded. Not to mention she hated getting dirt, rocks, twigs, and whatnot stuck in her hair and feathers; they were a pain to remove. Nonetheless, she was grounded for a night, and needed to look for shelter.

She meandered around the forest, weaving her way through the trees as quickly as possible. It did not take her long to reach a small clearing next to a rocky cliffside. There was what appeared to be a deep cave carved into the cliff, and she did not hesitate to enter, well aware of the scent of another fox lurking in its depths. She sauntered into the cave, adjusting her wings at her sides, and wagging her tail. She quickly noticed the other fox laying on the ground, and took a few steps toward him. "Mind if I join you tonight?" she asked, smiling. "There's a storm coming and I don't wish to greet it."

Gimpi raised his head and stared down the Phim. She had nerve just walking on into his cave. What of he just got up and attacked her for intruding? Perhaps it would teach her a lesson about really looking before entering. He snorted and looked away from her. "I suppose... " He pressed against the back of the cave, not wanting to get too close to her. Something in him hurt... Was it because he agreed to do something nice? Of course if Belial saw this his collar would be causing much pain. He cringed at the thought, and remembering the pain of the shocks. He wasn't there now and the collar was off, he should relax.

"I guess it is no good to be out in a storm like this... one could die." Though what would the world care without one other creature in the world. His movement much have disturbed a mouses hiding spot, for it scurried out from under his tail. With a snarl Gimpi caught it under his paw, only the tail was to be seen twitching from underneath. He wanted to end its miserable life... Play with it before killing it. Something to entertain him while the storm passes. Pathetic thing... he thought. Not even big enough to be worth a snack. But something in the back of his mind something urged him to let it go. He sat there quiet, mind mauling over what to do with his catch.
