
The forest was dark, lit only by the crescent moon and a few stray fireflies. The ground was wet and cooler than it had been earlier. The passing rain having done it's job to lower the temperature, which was always good. Especially when you had a coat that could keep you warm in winter.
Surrender smiled, sniffing the air for possible targets, but so far, all she could scent was moist earth and evergreens. A wonderful smell, yes, but not what she wanted. A prey that would give her a chase was what she was looking for, something that would spark the intensity she had been lacking in her normal life. She needed to get her blood pumping one way or another and giving chase to a small rabbit was just her first choice.
Emerald eyes scanned beyond the bushes with deadly precision, but she knew most of her strongest ability lied in her sense of smell. Her wolfish tail swaying behind her, she circled the area in front of her. Using her nose as a tracker she fought to find just the right scent that might take her to her next adventure.
