Quicksilver the Archangel

Beloved Seraph

The day had started out so well. Penelope had decided to go to the mall for the first time in ages, just to windowshop. Maybe pick up a new book on a whim or find a cute dress on sale. She had been having more than her fair share of Senshi duties lately, and while she would never shirk her responsabilities, she was beginning to feel a little tired. Just a little break, one day off, surely couldn't hurt anybody.

It seemed, however, that it wasn't going to be that easy. Enticed by the smells of the foodcourt, she had made her way towards her favorite spot to get a soft pretzel. She had been standing in line, already almost tasting that half-sweet, buttery dough... when she felt it. A youma--not the most powerful she had ever encountered, but certainly a youma. Her maroon eyes had darted around the room, and finding no immediate danger, she dashed off towards the bathroom and miracle of miracles had found it empty. It had taken her little time to transform and get back to the food court.

And, by then, the situation was... disasterous. Screaming, panicking civilians, all running from what appeared to be, for all intents and purposes, a giant ant. A giant ant that, apparently, had the ability to attract other ants. And roaches. And other insects that Sailor Pasiphae didn't recognize and didn't want to recognize. She would have sighed, if she hadn't been so busy avoiding the people running around her, and instead began assessing the situation, trying to figure out how best to strike in this crowded environment.

He really was going to have to find the Negaverse and have a nice long chat with them about leaving the mall alone. It should be neutral territory damn it. They're b*****d youma were going to destroy the best thing in the city and he wasn't going to have it. Not when he'd been out with the intent to spend the whole day wallowing in the new summer fashions and now he was stuck listening to god knows how many insects crunch under his boots.

At least the screaming people hadn't noticed him ducking into a changing room to transform. Always a plus.

Stepping out into the food court he raised a brow and looked at the main youma. "Where's the Orkin man when you need him." He paused for a moment as the youma turned to face him. "Oh wait ... Orkin would include me. Scratch that."

Sailor Pasiphae immediately took note of the strange young man that appeared in the food court along with her and all the insects, particularly because she could feel from the energy signature that it was another Senshi. He certainly didn't, however, look like one. For one thing, the majority of his costume was black. It was sort of like a tuxedo, or at the very least a tailored suit, with a clear dress jacket and pants, a vest, and a cravat. The neat white gloves and tall boots seemed to reinforce her judgment.

Her silver heels squished and mashed numerous insects as she ran over towards the stranger, shuddering slightly at the sound (and feel) of their little deaths. Her introduction, while direct, was not unfriendly, "I'm Sailor Pasiphae; want to help me squash the big bug so we can go back to enjoying our day?"

He looked over when he heard another voice and grinned. He had to be the luckiest man alive to get girls dressed like that running up to him all the time.

"Sailor Arachne ... and i think we might want to duck." He grabbed her arm and pulled the other senshi out of the way as the aunt spit out a long string of something, that once it hit the floor, proved to be corrosive. "Great. Acid spitting ants."

Which probably meant the thing would be immune to his attacks so he'd have to do things the hard way. SO much for not getting dirty.

Sailor Pasiphae nodded towards her new companion, turning to the enemy that lay before them. She didn't like insects, as a general rule. She wasn't scared of them or anything, really, but she had (and frequently did) screamed like a little girl several times when they just suddenly appeared out of nowhere. And now she was surrounded with far, far too many of them for her liking, including a giant one in the center of the food court.

A giant insect that could, apparently, shoot a string of acid at her. She was completely unprepared for this turn of events, but thankfully Sailor Archane wasn't, as he successfully pulled her out of harms way. She smiled at him in gratitude before removing herself from his grip. Acid... she had never tested her shield against it, but how different could it be from physical attacks? It was certainly worth a shot.

She looked to her fellow Senshi, seeing if he agreed with the plan, "My power allows me to form a shield around myself - maybe I could distract it, so that you can hit it?"

"Worth a shot. Can't promise that my attach is going to do much good though." He smirked. "Its acid based to" Which was apparently downside number one now. He wasn't sure he could even effect the creature which was going to suck, a lot.

"If nothing else we at least have all the tables to hit it with" Until someone figured out a way to charge the senshi for damages he was so going use that to his advantage. No one could charge him for damages when they didn't know who he was.

Shifting away from the other senshi he nodded. "Ready when you are."

Acid based attack? No, it didn't seem likely that a monster that used acid itself would be weak against it... but still, it was worth a try. She nodded towards Arachne to show that she was ready, her muscles already tense. Pasiphae took a deep breath, settling her nerves as she ran directly in front of the giant youma, desperate to grab its attention. She immedately called on her power, "Pasiphae Shameful Isolation!" Now, for a little while at least, all she would be able to do was watch from behind her maroon energy shield. She hoped that Arachne was wrong, that he would be able to defeat the creature. If not... well, her male companion had a point about using those tables as weapons...

He balanced himself carefully on his heels as he waited for the other senshi to deal with her shield. He really did have to give girls props for wearing shoes like this all the time. He had no idea how they did it. It did make his a** look amazing though, not that anyone could see it under his coat.

Ah well.

As her shield went up he held his hands up and called on his own powers. "Arachne's Venom!" The ant turned it's attention from the now shielded senshi to him as he let the energy build up. Once he was satisfied he chucked the energy orb at the youma before ducking behind Pasiphane.

He had been right and his attack didn't do much. It seemed to annoy the ant but he couldn't tell if it had effected it's body or not.

The ant youma had taken a minimal interest in the shielded Senshi, much to Pasiphae's surprise. After a small swipe or two, it focused on Arachne. But it seemed like the intended effect was still achieved. It allowed the male Senshi enough time to summon his attack and hit the creature... but it didn't look like the situation was going their way at all.

If anything, the attack only seemed to anger their opponent, as it now spat a trail of acid directly for Pasiphae's energy shield. The shield absorbed the attack but immediately dissipated, unable to protect either Senshi further. Great. Now they would have to find a way to squish it... with tables and chairs. She made a dash for said furniture, calling out to her fellow Senshi, "Time for Plan B?"

"Unless you've got a plan C that will work wonders." He smirked before jumping onto one of the tables so he could avoid the sticky acid on the floor.

"Might be easiest to go for the legs ... the back ones." At least if they could take those out then they'd have an easier time avoiding all the spitting and anything else the ant could do with its rather impressive set of mandibles.

Ducking another line of acid, he grabbed one of the poles that usually marked out where the line for Burger King was. "Too bad we don't have a giant can of raid."

The Shame Senshi nodded to show that she had heard, looking for a good choice of weapons to attack those back legs. She eventually settled on one of the tables, though it took all of her guts to clean off the leg that was swaming with insects.

"It would certainly be more effective," Pasiphae agreed, grabbing the leg of the table and using the flat of it to beat at the ant youma's leg. Luckily the food court tables were small enough to be handled with relative ease, but hopefully the weight would be enough to affect their enemy. "Or maybe a giant shoe?"

He ducked a swipe of one of the ant's legs and hissed in paid as it managed to catch his arm. It was all well and good having clothes that fixed themselves when you powered down but that was going to leave one hell of a scratch. Long-sleeved shirts would be in for a while.

"Somehow i don't think there's one of us who's that obsessed with shoes." He smirked as he swung the line pole at the leg that had just taken a good chunk out of him. It connected with a satisfying crack but that still left five more to deal with and the thing's massive jaws.

Pasiphae crushed one leg with the metal edge of the table, going to another one soon after. The added strength from her power up made it fairly easy to crush the limbs, but she was worried about how much time it would take to complete the task. The longer it took, the longer the people of the mall would be in danger. Her mind raced to think of a different way as she crushed what would be the third leg total, but nothing immediately came to her. A well. Best to stick to the plan at hand, then.

She dodged a blow of her own, and it was only then that she saw that Arachne had been injured, so she called out to him immediately, "Are you okay?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 01, 2011 6:52 am

"Yea. I'm fine." He wasn't really, the ant had managed to catch him again on the leg while he tried to find somewhere to stab it that would take the damn thing down, but he was trying to ignore the various pains. "Just keep it distracted. I have an idea."

If he could get on top of it he was pretty sure he could get the pole he was holding into it's head. It's armor couldn't be that strong around it's 'neck' or it wouldn't be able to move it's head so well.

The problem was getting on top of it though.

Cursing he vaulted up onto a table and from there a soda machine that the youma was threatening to topple over. "Alright. I think i've had enough of this." His heels clacked against the ant's exoskeleton as he jumped from the soda machine onto the youma. He quickly found out that trying to stand atop a giant angry ant wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do.

He flailed slightly but managed to wedge the pole between the thing's head and torso. It hadn't been the death blow he wanted but it seemed to at least slow the monster down.

"Hey! Do something while it's caught."

Pasiphae was fairly good at distractions. She had a cut of her own now on one of her bare shoulders, courtesy of the ant youma's barbed legs. As Arachne moved, the Shame Senshi continued to attack the creature's legs to direct its attention down towards her and not on his more aerial antics. Then her partner asked her to do something... to defeat the captured youma. Oh boy.

Only one idea came immediately to mind. It was a risky idea. It was also an icky one. But... Pasiphae didn't see another option. So, she took a deep breath and ran towards the youma's head, sliding on the guts of bugs to get underneath it. She grabbed hold of either side of the creature's head and pulled straight down with all of her strength, seeking to use the pole Arachne had driven between the head and torso as a wedge. Essentially? She was trying to decapitate a giant ant. While standing on all such of other crushed creepy crawlies. Not a position she enjoyed... but hopefully it would insure victory.
