It was a lovely sunny day, a little too hot for her liking but it was bright out and made for a good chance to have a bit of sunbathing. Gabriella layed down in the semi shade of a tall tree where her companion Olivia left her to wander off; perhaps to find another fox friend for herself, some food to eat or a place to stay for the night.
It mattered not for Gabby since all she was looking for was a pack that needed a Beta to be a second in command to them. In the time being, she was glad to be here free from restrictions and free to meet other wolves. After all, life would be boring and less interesting if you didn't have a friend or two. Sighing softly, she stood up and stretched her body then started to wander about in search of nothing in particular but knowing that surprises could always occur when you least expect them.

Sheesh hummed as he wandered. There was nothing better than a nice stroll to stretch the muscles. His smokey black fur was tugged playfully by a breeze. It had been very quiet and pleasant of late. He had wondered briefly about it as he'd set out. Not having too much contact with others helped keep him, in his mind, out of trouble. He scented the water before he heard it. A quick lap to slake my thirst, he thought, then I'll head to that clearing. At this time of year he suspected that it would have a growth of flowers. Sheesh drank his fill, then moved off. He wondered what he'd end up doing today.

Gabby kept walking until a curious scent tickled her nose. Stopping with a slight tilt of her head, as the breeze past through the trees. Blinking some, she started to follow the scent of a wolf, a male wolf to be exact. Perhaps it wouldn't be a safe thing to do on her own but she was a Beta female who could have been alpha but liked her spot just fine. The female was a battlemonger in a fight and diplomatic out of it.
Now, now it wasn't time to be thinking of how many ways to get out of a situation when one didn't know what it was in the first place. Trotting a bit faster, the female got close enough to the scent and spotted and smokey black wolf walking. From here the male appeared to be deep in thought. Smirking some, she followed silently behind the male, keeping him in her sights and perhaps she was ready to pounce on him unawares. Now that would be interesting.....

He had reached the field. Indeed, there was the flowers he'd thought. The tiny wild flowers filled the air with their perfumes. The lone wolf inhaled and smiled. It was a great day. When the wind shifted slightly he caught a scent that no flower ever made. There was another wolf nearby, and female if he was any judge.
Curiously he turned his head to look around. Did she know he was here? Why hadn't she come out and introduced herself. Sheesh suddenly got a bad feeling. Sheesh, what have I gotten myself into now? He looked around again. "Hello? I know you're out there."

"Awww, you spoiled my surprise." Gabriella said as she showed herself with a small pout that made her cute and walked over to the male wolf casually. "I truly meant you no harm. I didn't think I was the only one here alone so your scent made me curious enough to follow."
The easy going female stopped and sat down elegantly near the male. "My name is Gabriella. What is yours?" So far there didn't seem to be a threat coming from this male so there was hope yet that she might be making a new friend today.

Sheesh blinked in surprise. "Why did you want to surprise me?" He didn't know this female. There should be no reason for surprises, unless of course an ambush. His gold eyes glanced around for any accomplices that would sneak up behind him. Living alone had taught him to be cautious. "Why is there pack here?" He didn't remember crossing any pack boundaries. As a rule, he tried to avoid them.
He twitched an ear. "It's Sheesh." She seemed calmed and relaxed. Going so far as to sit down, helped the male also relax. He still wasn't sure why she was out here, or what she might want but he was fairly sure he didn't want to get involved.

The female beta looked at Sheesh slightly confused. "There's no pack around here that I know of. If there was I would be seeking out if they needed someone like me. So far I've not come across any packs. What about you? Your suspicious therefore you must have a pack around here to surprise me." What the female claimed could have been ridiculous but then again nothing could be ridiculous with this straight forward female. The she wolf looked around them with a tiny frown as she searched the air for any scents other than their own.
"Sheesh?" The female question slightly more confused. "Is that truly your name? I've never heard of anyone with that as their name. It's...odd but interesting...." It was as interesting as this male asking her why she wanted to surprise him. "To be honest you were so deep in thought that perhaps I became mischievious and wanted to surprise an unknown wolf. Especially since I haven't come across one....In a long while now."

"I haven't come across any pack markings either. So I guess it might be safe to say there's no packs here." He gave a humorless snort. "I don't travel with a pack. I've learned to not get involved and be on my guard." Sheesh, do I really? He thought back to the times he'd gotten involved. This female seemed like bad news to him. Might it be best to just take his leave.
The black wolf cocked his ear as she said his name. "Yes it is," he gave a soft growl of frustration. What gave her the right to question his name? As if he'd give a fake one. "Sheesh, why do I bother with females. Well I'd hope no one has my name." He replied, trying to keep the snap out of his voice. This one was just plain irritating.
Sheesh harrumphed. "You keep trying to surprise people and you'll find your nose ripped off one day." He twitched his tail. Sheesh, he hated surprises. "Well Gabriella, since you don't have a pack here and nor do I, I think I'll be on my way now." He clearly wanted to get away from as he turned to leave.

Gabriella looked at Sheesh aghast with her ears perked forward at the off putting manner of this lone wolf and sniffed softly, slightly upset that he would be so rude to her after she was nothing but polite. Yet that didn't dissuade the female nor did it made her mad at him. She was just mad at his manners. "Well it's quite obvious why you don't have a pack. Your absolutely a grouch and if you generalize all females then no doubt you will find yourself stomped into the ground for such an insult."
The she wolf followed him as Sheesh turned to leave. Oh no, he wasn't going to shake off this female that easily. If anything she was going to follow him until she tried to piece this puzzle of a wolf together. "Why are you so grouchy? I've done nothing to you to warrant such grouchiness especially for being a female." Now that got Gabby thinking. "Were you heartbroken that's made you so snappish to me?" That made Gabby pout slightly that she was being blamed for something another female had done. That was just wrong.

Sheesh shook his head. Why did she have to state the obvious? He did blink as she called him a grouch. Really? The black wolf didn't think of himself like that; usually he greeted others in a friendly, or at least semi-friendly, manor. "I don't see why that would bother you. In fact I would think that would make you pretty happy."
He tried not to sigh as she followed him. Sheesh, as he feared she would. "Perhaps it was you who made me grouchy. You and your wish to surprise. I bet if you'd approached openly, you might not have gotten that response." The male gave a laugh as she assumed he'd been heartbroken. Of all the silliest ideas. "As amusing as that might be for you, no. I have not been heartbroken. Have you?" His eyes twinkled a little with amusement.

Gaby blinked and rolled her eyes at Sheesh. "Now, if I did approach openly that would put me or anyone in a dangerous position since you don't know whether or not said intruder is safe or deadly. Of course surprising someone isn't better either but if does give you a chance to gauge the one your following a bit in order to truly approach someone or have a head start in retreating for safety." The she-wolf explained that to the male wolf as if she was discussing battle plans to thwart invisible enemies.
Blinking at Sheesh, the female tilted her head to the side in consideration of his question. "No...I don't suppose I have had my heartbroken but I can imagine that it's not a very good feeling. She said, looking at him "If you haven't been heartbroken then why are you so.....odd around a female? I'm not expecting you to act like a normal male but acting like someone bit your tail isn't very nice either. I'm curious now....What made you that way?" It was very much like Gabriella to know what made another wolf so upset most times. Especially since all she's known is a good and loving family.

Sheesh gave a very soft, but irritated growl with the female. Stay out of another's business and they stayed out of his. This is why Sheesh couldn't take being in a pack. Damn nosy females. Couldn't keep their noses out of anything that didn't concern them. His gold eyes gave her a look. "Seems like approaching anyone ain't safe no more. Watching sure, but surprising no." He snorted, "not unless you have backup close by."
He stalked a few steps more. Sheesh, what could she know about heartbreak if it'd never happened to her? He shook his head. Females were way too much trouble. Best to keep his distance from 'em all. "I'm not odd. You're just imaging things." He gave a real, albeit short, growl this time. That was crossing the line. "Look girl I don't know who you are, or who the hell you think you are. You've got no right to ask that, and it ain't any of your business. So you aren't getting an answer."

Gabriella blinked and huffed at Sheesh for his growling. "Now see here, Sheesh. I'm might have surprised you but when there is no threat to be had then at the very least calm down." It was then that Gabriella gave him back the look and lifted her head up regally with an air of arrogance surrounding her.
"As for who I am, I'm Beta Gabriella and if you don't like something or someone you can still be polite about it. I have every right to ask you something and if it's not my business then say so." Gaby was only getting a bit defensive if not annoyed at Sheesh's manners but she couldn't fully get upset only because wolves acted the way they did because of things in their lives. This she knew.
"If your not going to give me an answer, then I'm just going to keep following you until you do."

Blasted females! Sheesh turned abruptly to face her aggressively. "No! You look here. I'm a lone wolf. Emphasis on lone! I don't have to listen to you. So if you want to go boss someone around go find yourself a pack."
The male straightened up slightly from his posture. He supposed he couldn't blame a female for acting like a female. Perhaps he had over reacted some, but like hell if he'd tell her that. Sheesh flicked his tail. How he hated a female going 'I told you so.'
"I can't say it's a pleasure Gabriella, but well met." He huffed, hoping that would appease her. "Alright, it's not your business, now butt out. That's the only answer your getting."

For a moment, Gabriella thought that Sheesh would attack her and possible end this encounter on a very bad note. Not something the Beta wished to happen. Mentally shaking herself, the young female stood her ground in front of Sheesh. "I'm not satisfied with that." The she wolf wasn't one to back down because she wanted to understand Sheesh. Call her crazy but she did.
