 Yawning heavily he rolled onto his side, stretching out lazily under the arching leaves of the [name here] tree. Jubes was busy with her training and it was a rare evening when Toruk himself had nothing to do. Everything had been quiet and the pride busy with the new arrivals, both the heirs and the beautiful litter his best friend had given his mate, Ru. Chuckling softly Toruk rubbed his striped cheek into the rich, moist earth. New life was returning to the People, old wounds were slowly fading, if not healing fully. The pride had not been this stable and content in many a season.
This was why Toruk had fought so hard in that blood-filled war, had risked his life and the lives of his fellow warriors in a last ditch attack. Ewya had been with them that day for now they could finally put that horrifying past behind them and look to a new and brighter future. Of course there were issues, like the king's brother, but on the whole, he was feeling pretty content with how things had been going of late.

 Kaym'itan yawned as he slipped out from underneath the twisting branch right beside where his best friend was doing a fair impersonation of a Ikran with a molting condition,a deep rumbling chuckling leaving him as he swiped a paw at Toruk's hind end.
" Laying down on the job you Skxawng" he teased in his rough voice, sitting down next to him, a smirk on his face as he set about grooming his front paw, pleased to be able to take a few moments for himself. Ru and the cubs took up almost all of his free time these days, not that he minded, he found fatherhood agreed with him, but he'd admit it...sometimes he really, really, really looked forward to his nightly patrol time.
The jungle was quiet...very quiet. Nice and quiet. Quiet.

Laughing he squirmed his hind end round, but he wasn't fast enough to avoid the cuff and snorted at Kaym as the darker lion settled down beside him, Toruk now on his back with all four paws wiggling in the air like a cub.
"Its my night off, Tskxe-eltu." He returned with a deep rumbling laugh before he arched up and caught hold of a mouthful of Kaym's mane, tugging the male over onto his side in a playful wrestling motion. "What about you, Mr Sempul 'I-have-eight-cubs'." Wrapping his forelimbs about Kaym's neck, Toruk grinned cheekily. "You look beat, old friend."
