Land of Fire: The Southeast Forests

This part of the great forest covers almost the entire eastern landscape of the Land of Fire and is similar in it's makeup to the Southwestern Forests and is about the same size, possibly larger, spanning an incredibly vast distance. The forests here are lush and dense, much like the rest of Konoha, with broad, tall trees with thick canopy branches making ninja travel between them quick and easy. Interlaced throughout the forests however are large gaps of rushing rivers which feed into the great oceans to the east.

When one begins to travel further east the humidity increases and the forests begin to thin out slightly, but still remain lush and large almost right up to the shore. In fact, the forests end suddenly and as you emerge from them, it seems that the landscape has suddenly changed to a rocky beaches with very little succession, if any at all. This is one of the reasons why it was rumored that the First Hokage's Forest Genesis technique was in fact what created the Great Forests of the Land of Fire, as such a sudden and drastic change in vegetation is rare. The coasts lead to all points east and also to the Great Naruto Bridge, which spans the distance between the Land of Fire and the Land of Waves that normally only a ferry or ship could cross.

After crossing the gap into the Southeastern Forests. an hour or so into your journey, a single voice can be heard, a sudden cry for help, which echoes throughout the forest, seemingly echoing all around you as if bouncing off of the trees in this vast forest. The voice sounds as if it were a female's, not quite young enough to be a small child, but not mature enough to be an adult either. The sound is heard again after the first itteration, and it's louder then it was before, as if in the time between hearing the first cry and now, you had gotten closer.

"HELP! Help! help! help! help! help! help!"

(Sensors, you do not yet feel any chakra signatures around you other then your own and your teammate's)

{{For the sake of expediency, I'm going to assume that every stops when Nakaya signals for everyone to stop, and that we are all on our own branches about 50 feet apart from the next person ahead of and in front of us [that part is just for ease]}}

Looking around, the group doesn't see anything, nor do they hear anything any longer. The air seems almsot stale... too still to be comfortable until suddenly a flock of birds emerge from the canopy and begin to fly off.

(Sensors, at this point you feel a massive influx of chakra signatures, none of them stronger then Genin... but at least 12 of them)

Immediately after the birds leave, everyone suddenly hears the sound of chains descending from the treetops above them as if something large and heavy was released from a hinged pully. Looking up, each member of the team sees a cage about 5 feet wide and 6 feet tall falling from above to capture them.

In the midst of all of it though, you see one cage drop especially fast directly over Hasu. Dropping at about 3 times the speed of the others, crashing into his branch and digging itself into the wood about 6 inches deep, trapping him almost instantly. From the canopy two cables are shot directly at the top of the cage, the grappling hooks digging into the metal as streams of lightning flow down the cables, hitting the surface of the cage, surrounding the entire structure in a stream of violent lightning making escape from the structure seemingly impossible.

Anyone happening to look inside the lightning conducting cage however sees that Hasu looks to be almsot completely unphased by the trap... simply standing in the middle of the cage without making any move at all, his stoic mask hiding any hint of emotion or concern behind it.

Takashi: You just barely escape the trap and the metal cage hits the branch, crashing into it engraving a small dent into the wood separating you from the trio of enemies that land on the branch along with it. As you rush at them, the three bandits suddenly line up, and each one holds out their arm, pressing a part of their forearm. As they do so, metal shields unfold from their forearms, creating large shields about 3 feet in diameter as they hold them up to your approach and brace for the inevitable impact with your fists.

Saiyuri: With your escape from the cage complete, you manage to link with Hasu to which you hear the reply..."Worry about yourself. Those are standard Yukigakure soldier, they use energy blast shields and energy surge swords." With Hasu's advice abruptly ending, you sense the connection cut off as you see a slight surge of electrricity pulse off of the cage surrounding Hasu. Before you have time to analyze it however, two of the soldiers land, each one pressing his forearm as a sharp metal sword suddenly extends from their arms about 3 feet in length. Each of the Yukigakure warriors then swing their sword in an arc in front of them sending two arc of energy flying directly toward you. A third warrior then lands behind them, hitting his wrist much like the others did, except spawning a 3 foot diameter metal shield before steppping in front of his comrades after their attack.

Saiyuri gets the Tactical bonuses since Hasu warned her about the weapons, but the other two won't get the bonus until Saiyyuri passes the message on.

Saiyuri: Knowing that the energy waves were coming, you were more then prepared and succeeded in avoiding the waves. Once you ran, the warriors pursued quickly, though they were still surprised by the action giving you a head start. Once you reached the muddy banks of the river, the warriors had caught up and the two with sword were about to release a second round of attacks when they were encountered by the shuriken. Your plan worked like a charm as the two with swords were forced to hit their wrists twice, morphing the swords into shields, raising them up to eye level just in time to deflect them. The other with the shiels already out had the advantage of already having his shield and thus was able to block in time to see the pincers reach up to grab him enabling him to just narrowly avoid them.

The other two however were not so lucky, the pincers grabbing hold as they tightened their grip and dragged the Yuki warrior under the surface, enveloping them completely. The other warrior switched his shield to a sword and then let loose an energy slice before charging Saiyuri to attack her up close.

Takashi: Though the warriors certainly counted on you hitting the shield, they had no idea that such force would be generated by the punch. The metal used by the warriors needed to be flexible and needed to channel chakra, making it much weaker then steel. Once your fist made contact, you not only knocked the warrior back about 5 feet, but you also caved in his shield, making it completely useless from then on. However, the chakra blast still fired off on contact, sending a wave of chakra crashing into you, knocking you back and disabling your hand for a post. The other two warriors then quickly switched there shields into the form of sword and then. Attacked you at the same time from the front, swinging their swords vertically down across your chest. The third warrior was incapacitated behind them.
