So I thought it would be fun if we posted videos for local muscians from our hometowns. I thought that we could post lesser known, independant bands/singers, but if you like you could post someone that we've all likely heard of too.

Please note this is not intended to be promotional in any way; I'm not cool enough to hang out with musicians, I don't know any of these people.

So, I'm from Victoria, Canada, and so are Jets Overhead.

aww, i haven't heard this song since i was back home and listening to local radio. NOSTALGIA.

I'm woefully ignorant of our current local bands. Though I'm sure there are plenty in the Portland (OR) area.

For some reason, when my students figure out that I'm from Canada their first question is usually if I know Justin Bieber.

Even kids in Bhutan are fans of Bieber? rofl That's both hilarious and kinda sad.

He's quite popular, yeah. Kids have pictures of him on their notebooks. They also really like Taylor Swift. The only western culture that makes it over here is the fluffy stuff.

We have our own "Justin Bieber": Robin all though the real thing is also some what popular in here too. xd

There's not much I can post from my town, since it's such a small place. But here's few artist in Finland that I absolutely love:

One of my all-time favorite bands, Mesh, are from my hometown Bristol, UK.
They're not really big on making music videos, but I'll post one of the few that they've made.

Mesh - Friends Like These

It's not their best song, but still a good one. 3nodding

I had no idea you were British! I'll have to start reading all your posts in an accent now.

Their sound reminds me of someone... but I can't put my finger on who. Sort of Depeche Mode with a little Hot Chip thrown in. I like it!

Interesting stuff... the video is really strange xd but the song is really catchy. 3nodding

Here's one local again. She makes good pop, but she's not my absolute favorite. Still, it's well made music. Anna Abreu. I just realized that these all are woman. I'll need to find some good, local male artists too. xd

Yeah, that's a bit poppy for my tastes. No one local here really makes pop music, they pretty much stick to the style of indie rock that's popular.
