It was a late night in Destiny City. The moon was hidden beneath a gentle and thin blanket of gray clouds in the sky above, providing a dimmed light for the city below. Streetlamps were still on and allowed drivers some visual leeway, but certain senshi kept to the shadows, using the lamps as a guideline for the streets in this area. Streets here in downtown frequently had very small traffic lights, being that this was the oldest district in town. They didn't allow for much light to hit the ground, so the senshi had to use the streetlamps to track civilians instead. It wasn't difficult work, just more time consuming. It would have been easier if the moon had been uncovered. Older apartments and condominiums lined the one-way streets and parallel parking was simply the only way around here. Brick and mortar and old glass was a way of life on this end of town. She would have time to admire the architecture later.
A swift rhythm was playing in her head and super sailor Kallichore had to remind herself to keep her eyes ahead of her. Since her power up, she'd been on the lookout for her old nemesis - a spear-wielding Negaverse agent she never did get the name of. She hoped the officer hadn't received a power up since they last met. As far as Kallichore knew, the Nega was a Captain, and that Captains were roughly analogous to her own current state. They were evenly matched, but the senshi of madness had seen nothing of her since their last battle.
That is, until very recently. Not too long ago, Kallichore caught sight of the Nega in question, who looked the same as she had before. This indicated no new power up, but the senshi didn't want to take any risks. Instead, she opted to pretend she did not see the officer. She kept her eyes forward and made herself look like she was trailing a few civilians for their protection. Whether or not this would work was anyone's guess, but Kallichore was prepared to not become a pincushion this time around if it could be helped.

Captain Painite was out, as usual, looking for energy to hunt and new, fun ways to taunt her enemies. She was getting bored of routine once again, and needed to shake things up. So she was going to focus tonight on the hunt itself, stalking and information gathering. Seeing where a senshi might be, if it was a regular area, and if a trap could be set.
She hadn't gotten a good, old fashioned trap set up in too long, it felt like, and now she wanted to plan something spectacular.
It didn't take her long to feel a senshi's energy in the area, and since she was up on the rooftops she could look down and see the senshi below. She didn't think the senshi had noticed her, as she wasn't looking up, just walking along the street.
Good.
This one seemed familiar, but Painite quickly realized that what was throwing her off was the power signature. She was stronger now. That senshi from before, with the infuriating attack, that had run away and gotten to escape with her life. Painite wasn't a fan of this particular senshi.
Growling softly, she moved to the edge of the roof before jumping down, hoping to get the literal drop on the presumably unaware senshi below.

Kallichore could feel the woman up on the rooftops, could almost smell her anticipation and the pure evil that dripped off of all Negaverse agents. It took every ounce of self-control not to look up before the moment was right. The super senshi knew the captain would want to pounce her at the best possible moment, and Kallichore tried not to brace herself too noticeably before the time to strike was at hand. She tried desperately to keep walking like she didn't notice a thing until Painite was within grasping distance.
The super senshi had wanted revenge of some kind after nearly being stabbed to death on multiple occasions by this Nega in particular. She sought to wreak more havoc on her if at all possible with a powered up attack and more stamina and agility to boot. While she wasn't as physically capable as the Nega (and she had a fuku that lent to problems, more often than not), Kallichore liked to think she was now on par with the woman if anything. And that thought thrilled her.
As soon as Painite was within reach, Kallichore whirled around and grabbed at the woman's ankle with the intent of tripping her up and botching her landing. She hoped it would surprise her and throw her off her game long enough for the senshi to call up her attack and show Painite what she thought of all those sudden stabbings!

With it in her head that the senshi would have no defense against a negaverse agent dropping down from the sky with a wicked weapon poised to stab, Painite wasn't being too observant.
She wouldn't have noticed the slight tension in Kallichore's body even if it had been more obvious. And she would kick herself for that later, as with most of her traps she did, in fact, try to be alert and aware to the small but important details. It was a very critical lapse of judgment.
But hell, the rush was damn fun.
The plan was simple: she would land and lunge, aiming to stab the senshi with the javelin in her hand. Simple, and easy.
Except she had her ankle pulled out from under her and everything was thrown out the window.
"Hey!" She yelped, more angry that the senshi had ruined the surprise than the attack itself. She hit the ground and all she could do was half blindly stab in the direction of the senshi while she struggled to get to her feet.

That damned spear pierced part of Kallichore's already torn sleeve and the super senshi counted that as a blessing. The fact that the captain's spear didn't liberate her head from her body meant one more day to go out and fight her. The sound of the Nega hitting the pavement was music to her ears and Kallichore backed up, wanting to survey any damage that was made from the fall.
"I hope you didn't miss me too much. I've been thinking about you, you know. Wondering how you've been since you last saw me. As you can see, I'm quite well. And very happy to see you." She tried to keep her voice calm and even, taking a lesson from Painite's own handbook of villainy. One must taunt one's victims as calmly as possible. Really, it was meant as a display of mockery, but whether or not it came across like that was anyone's guess.
Readying herself, Kallichore was more than happy to try out her new attack on Painite, who'd only gotten the standard version before. This time, things were much more personal.

Painite frowned at the senshi, though she quickly replaced the expression with a grin. She didn't want Kallichore getting the idea that the fall had tripped her up more than just physically, or that she had any sort of advantage because of it.
Though, really, she was sore that the senshi had been the one to get the surprise element on her side, rather than the Nega. Painite had been planning on it, too, which just made the taste more bitter in her mouth.
"Not too much, no," Painite said, righting herself and dusting off her clothes. She felt some pain in her leg, and wondered if she had bruised it in the fall. Even if it wasn't, it was still sore.
"Though, I know who did miss you," she montioned with her javelin, grinning at the senshi. Composure restored. She looked the senshi up and down, noting that she was a Super now, which theoretically made her more dangerous. But considering how weak she had been last time, but Painite's standards, she wasn't too concerned.
"Still as fun to stab as I remember?"
