“I still want to be evil.” I said, grinning to myself.
“But, like I said, there is no good or evil, there is only chaos and order.” Andrew said.
“Well, I want chaos to reign, so I can slit your feathery throat and feast on your dead carcass.” I replied, grinning evilly.
He sighed and put his face on his hands like a psychoanalyst with a particularly tricky patient. At that moment, Alex walked by…
“I’m glad that you two are getting along for once.” She said, smiling and looking, overall, like some sort of mom. She kind of is; between us. She is the peacemaker.
“No, she’s still using the death threats.” Andrew groaned, looking up at Alex.
Alex kept smiling. I knew she was used to us arguing. She sometimes came back with me having a knife to his neck. Yet somehow we still stayed together as our little band. Just the three of us. All the time. It was always me trying to kill Andrew, Andrew calling to his girlfriend, who happened to be my best friend, who happened to be Alex, and Alex convincing me to kill him another day. It always happened, and I always found it hilarious. Frankly, I liked having Andrew around, just so I could mess with him.
“Well, that’s a change of pace. At least she isn’t actually trying to kill you.” Alex replied.
“I’m right here…” I said, looking between them. However, they didn’t seem to take notice.
“Yes, I’m glad I can actually sleep at night without being scared of waking up to a knife at my neck or poison in my water.”
“That was only the one time and that was only because you stole my knife!” I yelled, feeling the need to defend myself.
“Yeah. She’s kinda lost her touch, really.” Alex responded, still ignoring me. I could tell she was trying really hard to keep a straight face.
They were messing with me. They were totally messing with me. I was sitting with them, and they had decided to mess with the one person who was awesome as I was. That was not right. They don’t mess with me. I mess with them. I call them stupid nicknames. They tell me to stop calling them that. This was upsetting the natural order. I had to do something, soon.
“Okay, Meow Mix, whatever you say!” I said and walked back to my tent.
I could hear their voices muffled outside. They were saying something and laughing. It was about me, no doubt. I poked my head outside the door.
“Catnip, Monkey Butt, talking about me out there?” I yelled.
They both turned toward me at once. A large bird was sitting on top of Alex’s tent. Andrew was holding a letter of papyrus. That was when I knew everything was going to get a lot more interesting.
“No. We just got summoned by Ra.” Andrew said, looking deadly serious.
