When the United States was unable to support its NATO Allies, NATO was dissolved. In response, all of Europe became memebers of the European Union for mutual support and defense. And like the last two World Wars, Europe was ravaged by WWIII. When the fighting was done, Europe fell into a state of chaos and lawlessness. Once they finally recovered, the EU decided that they would have no allies, only enemies. They began gearing up their military production, sacrificing health and social programs, until their weapons were as powerful as tanks. They created the first heavy Zoids. They now fight the oriental Alliance for space to grow as well as ariable land to grow food. To the EU, this is a war of survival. Their main unit is the 32nd Lancers, a brigade-sized element comprised of two Armor battalions, an Artillary battalion, three Infantry Battalion, and a wing of RAF Zoids, all based out of the Mount Hoverla Airstrip in the Ukraine.
